Hi Everyone. Last June I had 12 days trip to Italy started from Rome, Florence, Tuscany and Venice. So today I would like to share my experience and photos to you guys.

About flight from Bangkok to Rome, I booked advance ticket for 6 months so I got a good deal from Finnair for 2 ways ticket is 23,000 baht or 597 Euro.

We started at Suwannaphum airport about 9 hrs to stop over at Helsinki airport and about 4 hrs to Rome FCO.

Before arrived at Helsinki we can check the gate to connect flight to Rome.

Light meal before stop over.

After 4 hours we arrived Leonardo da Vinci di Fiumicino Airport and we took a bus to Vatican city. Rome airport is not big if compare to Suwannaphum airport, so you can just walk out the exit way. There are buses to the city on the right side.

About hotel in Rome we booked Sunset at St.Peter, Bed&Breakfast accommodation near Vatican city, after we got off the bus we walked along the road through Vatican City to our accommodation.

B&B Sunset at St.Peter far from the bus stop only 10 mins by walking. We have chosen the good choice.

There are 2-3 bedrooms with share bathroom.

They prepared hot coffee, fruit juice, bread, jams and butter for us.

And then we started the first day to explore Rome. In Rome you can start with walk along the road follow maps or GPS on your smartphone application.

You can buy tour package if you want, there are many tour agencies here. But we think explore by ourselves is better way to save money.

Pantheon, all of the places that I shown you, you can go by foot from Vatican city.

You can go inside Pantheon for free, no ticket charge.

Here is Altare dell Patria, monument built in honor of Victory Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy.

If you don't want to walk so far from Vatican city to Altare dell Patria you can buy day ticket of Hop on Hop off bus to take a tour around city and stop at tourist places.

Rome architectures are fabulous and really huge.

There are many seagulls like this in Rome I think they flew to Rome for food.

Next to Altare dell Patria you can also walk to Colosseum.

Roman Forum

Many street performers at tourist places.

And then we arrived Colosseum, an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome built of travertine, tuff and brick-faced concrete.

We arrived Colosseum so late on that day, long queue to go inside, so we decided to go back at the hotel to take a rest and will come back in next early morning to line up for queue to go inside Colosseum.

Lunch time is always pizza time in Italy.

We walked back to hotel passed through Trevi Fountain, a fountain in the Trevi district. Standing 26.3 metres high and 49.15 metres wide, it is one of the most famous fountains in the world.

You have to taste Italain Gelato when you go to Rome.

Day 2 in Rome, we took subway train directly to Colosseum station.

We lined up to buy ticket about 1 hour.

And then we explored inside Colosseum, it is estimated, between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators, having an average audience of some 65,000; it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry, and a Christian shrine.

After we finish Colosseum, we went to Spanish Steps, The monumental stairway of 135 steps limbing a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, dominated by the Trinità dei Monti church at the top.

In front of Spanish steps is brand name shopping street, I think you will like.

And we walked back to our accommodation.

Our last meal in Rome.

We spent time in Rome only 2 days and then we moved to Florence. You can follow our article in the next episode.
