Visiting Ayutthaya, a city of history and culture with a Budget of 1,200 Baht

(2 Days 1 Night)

This time, we went to a whopping number of places, including 13 temples, 1 floating market, and 1 cafe. It may seem like we went to so many temples, but it wasn't boring at all. Each and every temple has its own unique characteristics that you can't miss. However, if you are planning on visiting Ayutthaya during this time, I recommend you to take an umbrella and wear a hat as the weather is very hot that I thought I was going to melt.

First Day of the trip:
- Wat Maha That
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram
- Wat Ratchaburana
- Wat Phra Si Sanphet
- Wat Phra Ram
- Wat Maheyong
- Wat Kudidao
- Wat Chakkrawad

After the first day, we continued on the second day:
- Wat Phanan Choeng
- Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon
- Ayothaya Floating Market
- Wat Lokayasutharam
- Viharn Phra Mongkhon Bophit
- Saint Joseph's Church
- Busaba Cafe & Meal

This time we went to so many temples, but we still haven't visited all temples in Ayutthaya. Next time, we will surely come back to see all of them. So, see you next time in Ayutthaya!

We began this trip at the first temple "Wat Maha That". Just looking at the photo, you can see that this temple is a must-visit, as it is the important check-in spot of Phra Nakon Si Ayutthaya.

I bought this ticket at Wat Maha That, but I'm not sure if other temples also have it for sale or not.

Wat Mahathat is one of the temples in Ayutthaya's Historical Park, and it was one of the most important temples during the Ayutthaya period, because it is the temple where the Buddha's relics were placed in the center of the capital. It was also the residence of His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of the Kamawasi. Therefore, this temple had been constructed and taken care of until its destruction and abandonment after the second defeat of Ayutthaya.

The 12th temple is Viharn Phra Mongkhon Bophit. This temple is located to the south of Wat Phra Si Sanphet. It's important feature is that it has old chapel located within the city walls that has been well-renovated. Inside the chapel, there is a very large Buddha that has been damaged in the second defeat of Ayutthaya. However, it has been renovated completely with bronze covered in gold as we can see in the present day.
