"Taiwan" is a name that many Thai tourists are familiar with these days. Since 2015, tourism in Taiwan has boomed, and if you open any review website, you'll find an abundance of reviews about Taiwan, especially Taipei. But when it comes to tourist attractions, it wouldn't be right not to mention accommodation. So today, I'm going to review popular accommodations for both Thai and Korean tourists. Let's find out where to stay in Taipei.

Before we look at the accommodation, you can follow my first trip to Taiwan from the link below. Because Taiwan is small but great, you know.

Episode 4 TAIPEI !!! Goodbye Taiwan, see you again??

The above is a review of my trip to Taiwan. As I mentioned, Taiwan is like "Japanese quality at Thai prices". Isn't that right? Because going to Taiwan is not stressful in terms of money because it is similar to Thailand, making it easy to buy things. But in this review, I will take you to see the accommodation that I visited, which is very popular in Taipei, especially among Thai and Korean people.

The accommodation I will be staying at in Taipei for 2 nights is "STAR HOSTEL". It is a hostel conveniently located near Taipei Main Station, a major transportation hub in Taipei. This station serves the MRT, TRA, THSR, and even has a bus terminal for intercity travel within Taiwan. It's truly a one-stop transportation center.

Exiting Taipei Main Station through the north gate (I apologize, I can't recall the exact direction), you'll find the exit. Slightly off to the side, there's a pedestrian bridge crossing the street. Cross the bridge, and you'll see the Taipei 101 building in the distance, confirming your arrival in Taipei.

After crossing the skywalk, walk to the opposite side of Q Square Mall and continue walking straight. Alternatively, you can cross the zebra crossing in front of you to reach the opposite side of Q Square Mall. Once you have crossed, walk straight towards the large yellow billboard (on your left-hand side). There will be a small alleyway, turn left into the alley and walk straight ahead.

As you walk along, you will see signs for Star Hostel and Puri Hotel. Star Hostel is located on the 4th floor.

This is the sign for my accommodation in Taipei. Once you see the sign, open the door and take the elevator to the 4th floor.

The elevator opens to a small house for guests waiting to check in.

FRONT DESK

Nearby is the staff counter. Just walk straight to the counter and check in. When I went, the staff was very cute. The atmosphere was similar to Uniqlo. The staff raised their hands and said, "This way, please." At first, the female staff greeted me with "Hello." I handed my passport to the female staff, and when she saw "Thailand," she changed to a wai and said, "Hello." I was so impressed. The Taiwanese were happy from the moment they got off the plane to Taichung. The staff checked me in and told me the details of my stay, the rules, and the breakfast time. Then, the staff handed me the key card to get inside.

SHOE CABINETS

After checking in, walk to the wooden locker. Everyone who stays here must take off their shoes and store them in the locker with their room number. Then put on the slippers provided by the hostel, which are in the basket. Once you're done, tap your key card on the door to enter (it feels like a secret room).

LOUNGE When the secret door opens, you will find a lounge area where you can sit and chat, eat snacks, food and drinks. However, eating in the bedroom is not allowed.

GUEST KITCHEN

Next to the lounge area is a kitchen for guests to cook and heat food as they please, just like at home.

CAFE

Next to the kitchen is the cafe area, which serves breakfast and transforms into a bar in the evenings for drinks.

I then walked up another floor, which is the guest room area. It was quite quiet, which is understandable since it was almost 2 pm when I checked in and most people were probably out exploring.

Delux Dorm

Then I went to the room. The room I booked was a deluxe dorm, which means there were 3 beds in the room, each with 2 levels, and it could accommodate 6 people. Let's take a look at the atmosphere inside the room.

The room has six beds, a fairly large locker for storing belongings, and a clothes rail (but a bit small, haha). 555)

LOUNGE

The atmosphere of the lounge in the early morning is amazing. If you want to take some cool and stylish photos, I recommend waking up early and coming here because it's very quiet. When I went down, I saw a cute Korean girl taking photos. She was setting up a tripod, very hipster.

GUEST KITCHEN

Star Hostel offers free breakfast for all guests at the cafe from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM daily. (Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat it because I went on trips early every morning, because if I waited for the trip, I would have missed many places.) But for those who go on trips early like me, don't worry because the hostel also provides sliced bread, round bread with strawberry jam and peanut butter. You can also enjoy tea and coffee, which is great for people who go on early trips like me.

For breakfast, I ate a moderate amount of food, like a proper English gentleman, including papaya milk (everyone said that if you visit Taiwan, you have to drink this milk). It turned out that I drank it almost every day, and it was delicious.

Next to Star Hostel, there is a convenience store that we are all familiar with, not far away. It is located nearby, and there are also food sources nearby. It can be said that it is close to both transportation, food and convenience stores. Therefore, if anyone goes to Taipei, don't forget to let go of your body and mind with this super cool hostel.
