Hello…

And then it's time according to the plan. This trip is a long trip for 4 days 3 nights, December 22-25, 2015. I want to find a place to breathe fresh air, good atmosphere. I've seen a place in a Pantip topic here. It's quite beautiful. I heard that it's the village with the best air in Thailand. That's Kiriwong Village, Lansaka District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province! So I thought of a trip name. I thought about it and decided to go with "One heart, two backpacks on the train to "Kiriwong". But… as I thought, I wanted to have a Slow life moment. I had to take the train, so I had to find a starting point. We agreed on "Pattalung".

Let's start our journey… sir.

Tuesday morning, December 22, 2015, this trip has friends with us. We started from different starting points but the same destination. The first backpack from Chumphon, the second from Krabi. I started my journey from Krabi to Phatthalung by van, Krabi-Hat Yai because there is no direct car from Krabi. It takes about 3 hours to reach Phatthalung. Our meeting point is Phatthalung Passenger Transport Station. We met at 5 pm. So we found a place to sleep in Phatthalung city to wait for the train to Nakhon Si Thammarat... (I was so excited that I couldn't sleep) 555

Wednesday morning, December 23, 2015, the real journey began. I was very excited and couldn't wait to check the train ticket to Nakhon Si Thammarat, train number 456 (3rd class, free train). I got the ticket ^^

According to the schedule, the train will arrive at 11.18. The time has come and the train has not yet arrived. And then the worst fear came true. The train was delayed. This is the Thai train. So I found a place to take a shutter.

And then we sat and waited… until 12:40 pm when we heard a loud noise. This must be our train, so we started our journey.

This is what I got along the way, it was a new experience.

And then the train pulled into the platform of Nakhon Si Thammarat station. The train came to a complete stop at 4:40 p.m. We had to take a songthaew to Ban Khiri Wong.

We couldn't walk. Run! The queue for the Khiri Wong car is over there! In the midst of the drizzle, it was refreshing. Luckily, we saw a car passing by and waved quickly. (My heart was full of hope and excitement all the time.)

Finally, we arrived at our destination. Ohhhhh, "Khiriwong". It took us about 30 minutes by car. The fare was 30 baht per person, and they dropped us off right in front of our house. We just had to tell them whose house we were staying at, and the driver knew everyone. It was so good, lol. 555

Upon arriving at our accommodation, we discovered that the homestay we had booked, owned by Mr. Nu in Moo 8, resembled a row of terraced houses, which differed slightly from our expectations. To make matters worse, the rain was relentless. Undeterred, we set out to find Mr. Thang's house (as recommended on Pantip) to rent bicycles. We braved the rain and walked approximately 600 meters from our accommodation until we finally located his house. With our trusty two-wheeled companions secured for the trip, we were ready to explore. The bicycle rental fee was 50 baht per day, and we had the freedom to choose the bikes we preferred.

The first meal at Khao Kiri Wong was placed in front of me. It was arranged on a tray with six local dishes: vegetable glass noodles, sour curry, omelet, fried mackerel (with a broken neck, lol), chili paste and vegetables. The taste was good, authentic southern Thai. I guess I was so hungry from the whole day that I ate until I was almost full. 5555

Full of food, my eyelids started to droop. I decided to take a break before waking up tomorrow to explore every nook and cranny of this village with the best weather in Thailand, "Kiriwong".

First morning at Kiriwong house, December 23, 2015. Yesterday was a long journey, so today I woke up late and missed the sunrise. But that's okay, we're staying here for a few more days. We started exploring the area early in the morning with our trusty bicycles from Mr. Thang's house. Along the way, we stumbled upon a large stream that runs through the middle of the village, flowing from the mountains. It's the main water source for the village. Some people were washing clothes, while others were bathing. I envy the people here who get to bathe in such a beautiful atmosphere.

Before coming here, I had done some research on where to visit. The first place that caught my eye was "Nang Hin Tha Ha", which has a suspension bridge. So I asked an aunt who was washing clothes by the river in the village, "Which way to the suspension bridge?" The aunt looked confused, so I showed her a picture. She said, "Oh! The 'wae' bridge." I then remembered that the word "wae" in the southern dialect means "to swing back and forth". That's the suspension bridge, of course. Phew! Thank you, auntie. 5555

We cycled along the stream for about 2 kilometers and reached "Nang Hin Tha Ha". The atmosphere was great. Looking out in front, you could see the low mountains leading down to the suspension bridge, and below was a slow-flowing stream. The water was so clear that you could actually see the fish (I'm describing it so vividly).

Before heading back, I noticed a small waterside shop selling drinks. I couldn't resist sitting down to enjoy a drink amidst the beautiful atmosphere. It was pure bliss!

There is also fish food available for sale in case anyone wants to see the fish…

Before going to the next place, we passed the Kiriwong Temple. I asked to sit and rest my legs for a while. The weather was nice and the wind was cool and comfortable… It would be nice to take a nap here ^^

My stomach is growling. I'm having so much fun that I forgot to eat. I'm going to find something to eat. I've been cycling around looking for a restaurant with a good atmosphere.

I finally found this restaurant, "Check-IN Cafe". The atmosphere is as shown in the picture. I'm so hungry. I'll be back later.

This is… Brother Pat, who conjures up delicious food for us 5555 (complimenting him in case I get free food)

Today's damage was 85 baht for my brother ^^

Full, refreshed, and no more fatigue, let's continue! In this Kiriwong village, there is also a waterfall. According to the information, there are Wang Mai Pak waterfall and Soi Dao waterfall, but let's choose the one that is closer. It's too far to cycle. From the village, cycling to Soi Dao waterfall is about 3 kilometers (if I'm wrong, I apologize, I'm just estimating). You will find "Wang Mai Pak waterfall" with water cascading down in layers. The sound of water hitting the rocks... click, click, click...

For those who have followed Khao Kiri Wong from Pantip like us, you must know this shop, "Baan Nai Thang". The shop has 2 locations. The first one is located before reaching Khao Kiri Wong Temple. It's a shop that rents bicycles and sells coffee souvenirs. The shop is decorated with antique items, which is quite cool. As for the second shop, it's located by the stream. It's a small shop that sells coffee and various drinks.

This is called "Love Train" ice cream. It's so sweet.

It's very late today, I'm both tired and exhausted. I'm going to take a shower, eat dinner and rest first. Tonight's special dinner is "Coconut milk soup with fiddlehead fern".

I'll continue later. The last morning at Kiriwong, the time of happiness passed so quickly. Today we woke up at six in the morning to experience the way of life of the people in the community. This morning there is a small market in the village. This market is only open on Mondays and Fridays. I'll call it a vintage market because the way of life and the age of the sellers are quite old. 555 I've been talking for too long. Let's take a look at the pictures.

This is "rubber band noodles". Judging from its appearance, it is definitely it. It looks like this, but the taste is amazing, I must say. Only 10 baht per pack.

Before ending this trip, I would like to leave you with another set of photos.

This is the first time I've seen this here. The seller told me it's called "bakbok", or Thai almond.

This concludes our trip to "Khiriwong," the village with the best air quality in Thailand. We've had the chance to experience it firsthand. Hooray! Stay tuned for our next trip's destination.
