It is said that most people who travel to the sea alone are escaping from love and taking their hearts to rest at the sea. Because they think that the sea is peaceful and they have time to reflect on many things. This time, I am also as mentioned above. Therefore, this memorable trip has come about..

Escape from love to rest at the island Episode 1

Koh Phai - Koh Phi Phi Leh - Koh Phi Phi Don

On the morning of April 6, 2016, it was the time when I planned to take a long break from work before the Songkran festival. And it was the time when my heart was still bruised. So I planned to go somewhere to heal my heart. Most people who are escaping from love will come to the sea. But I was a little scared because I had never traveled alone before. Oh well, this is my first time traveling alone, I have to try it once.

08.30 am, I made an appointment to board the boat at Ao Nang Beach. It was a Phi Phi Island trip by speedboat. And today I was the only Thai customer. Then the boat started to leave Ao Nang Beach. The guide told me about the trip today.

Ready to board the boat now.

About half an hour from Ao Nang Beach, we arrived at the first destination of this trip, Bamboo Island. The guide spoke in English, but I understood it well enough. We stopped here for an hour. The beach here is really beautiful, with white sand reflecting the bright sunlight. It was truly stunning. You can sunbathe and swim on this island, but you have to pay the park fee before going ashore.

Point 1
Bamboo Island

This island is under the care of the Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. It is not far from Phi Phi Don Island, which is located in the north of the island. It is a quiet island. On this island, there is also a tourist service center, a welfare shop, and a bathroom. If you want to stay overnight on the island, you can contact the park office. There is a camping area and the park also has tents for rent. The highlight of this island is that it has a beautiful coral reef and white sand. You can go snorkeling to see the coral.

Point 2

Phi Phi Leh Island

This island has no amenities, restaurants or accommodation. The island consists of many bays such as Maya Bay, Loh Samah Bay, Pileh Bay, Viking Cave and there are small beaches around the island. This island is interesting and has a highlight in snorkeling and diving which is beautiful and world-famous. And the first bay to go to is...

Pileh Bay or Pileh Lagoon

It is a large bay surrounded by limestone mountains until it becomes a lagoon. The limestone mountains are covered with various plants. This bay is another popular spot for tourists to go snorkeling. The sea water is emerald green, crystal clear.

Viking Cave

This large cave was once a refuge for pirates, sailors, and fishermen during storms. Inside the cave, ancient paintings dating back hundreds of years can be found on the walls. Later, the cave became off-limits due to the concession of edible-nest swiftlets. A large number of swiftlets reside in the cave. This cave was given the name "Naga Cave" by His Majesty the King. The name "Viking" is believed to be derived from the ancient paintings that resemble Viking ships.

Maya Bay

A large bay surrounded by limestone mountains, forming a lagoon. The fine white sand and crystal-clear water make it a paradise for tourists. It is famous for being the filming location of the Hollywood movie The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio. This bay is perfect for sunbathing and snorkeling, but it can be a bit crowded due to the constant flow of tourists and boats. It is a popular gathering place for tourists.

Point 3

Phi Phi Don Island

This large island is the center of accommodation, restaurants, bars, and amenities. It boasts beautiful scenery and a viewpoint offering stunning views of the twin bays: Ao Ton Sai on one side and Ao Lo Dalam on the other. Today, we will stop for lunch on this island. After lunch, we will have time to explore the island and visit the many souvenir shops. We will spend 2 hours here. Let's see what the island's atmosphere is like.

Have lunch before going on an island tour

Let's go!

Our fun time on the island is over. We leave Phi Phi Island and head to the other side of Ao Ton Sai, which is Ao Lo Dalam, to snorkel and see the coral reefs. There are many different types of coral here, and this is the last stop of our trip today. For tourists who are not strong swimmers, the guide will not allow you to swim.

My trip to escape love and spend time on various islands has come to an end. Today, I gained new experiences and I must say, I'm starting to fall in love with solo travel. For this review, I must take my leave for now. Stay tuned for the next episode to see which island I'll escape to next! ^^
