The rainy season is approaching. If you haven't decided where to escape the hustle and bustle, I recommend "Baan Kok Kot", a peaceful, beautiful, and natural place with a stunning view of the dam, mountains, and water as far as the eye can see. Since it's not far from Bangkok, you can easily stay for 1 night. Most importantly, the accommodation is very cheap, only about 500-600 baht per person. It's a million-dollar view for a hundred-baht price! ^^

The period I stayed was during the late winter and early summer. The weather in the morning was very good and not too cold. During the day it was quite hot. If I may suggest, I would like everyone to go during the upcoming rainy season. Because while I was there, the owner told me that the rainy season will be cool all day long. And after the rain, there will be a light fog. If I have the chance, I will go again. Haha.

Baan Kokkod is located in Khlong Sadao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. I traveled by private car from Bangkok to the destination in one go, taking 2-3 hours. As for traveling by other methods, you can follow the main website of the place. http://www.baankokkod.com/apps/documents is quite detailed.

The accommodation has ample parking space, as shown in the pictures. No need to worry about it being full!

A cute sign welcomes you to the entrance of the accommodation.

Day 1

We rented a "house with a dam view" which is a room without air conditioning and a shared bathroom. But the advantage of this type of room is that you will get a magnificent view of the vast reservoir water stretching as far as the eye can see. And it also has a balcony in front. We went with 3 people, the price per night was 1,200 baht plus an extra bed for 300 baht, the total cost was around 500 baht per person. Compared to the scenery we received, it was more than worth it. O_O

And the room I stayed in was the first room, named "Hug the Stars".

And this is the inside of the room. It's not very big, but it's in very good condition and is decorated in a lovely way that complements the surrounding nature.

If you sit in the room and look out the window, you will see the beauty of nature that is conveniently delivered to you.

As I mentioned earlier, the room I stayed in had a shared bathroom. So, if I don't review the bathroom, it wouldn't be complete. The bathroom is not far from the room I stayed in (but some rooms are quite far). There are clear divisions for men and women. The number of rooms is not many, so if there are a lot of people, you might have to wait in line. Many people might think, "Ew, a shared bathroom, gross!" But I'm sorry, that's not the case here. The bathroom here is extremely clean, and you even have to take off your shoes before entering.

The bathroom is very clean and bright, and most importantly, it has a bidet! But I'm wondering why there's an "Exit" sign pointing down into the toilet bowl. If I had to guess, it's probably the fire escape for this accommodation. I have to say, they really have all the safety features covered! 555+

The bathroom is equally clean, but the floor can be a bit wobbly, so be careful not to slip.

After talking about the bathroom, let's move on to the dining room. The dining room here is airy and inviting. Most importantly, there is a cabinet with ice-cold drinking water that is free to drink. Anyone who wants to drink cold water or is tired of the water provided in the room can come and drink here.

There are also kayaks here. If you want to paddle, the equipment is ready.

The atmosphere around the accommodation.

The highlight of this accommodation is that there are two bridges stretching out into the water, offering stunning panoramic views. Let's start with the first bridge, which boasts breathtaking vistas.

At the end of the bridge, there is a path leading down to a red pavilion. You can sit and relax there, enjoying the cool breeze that blows constantly. It's a great way to escape the heat and forget about your worries.

The view from the bridge to the accommodation is equally beautiful.

The other side of the bridge is not much different, but this side has nice chairs to sit on and a path down to the pier where you can go kayaking, as I mentioned.

This place also has ducks and geese. The ducks are cute and friendly, quacking all the time. The geese, on the other hand, seem cute but are incredibly fierce. If you get close to them, they call their friends to chase you away in a flock. At that moment, I was so angry! I wanted to make them into goose legs and be done with it!

In the late afternoon, as the sun neared its descent, a beautiful golden light shimmered.

I like the trees that grow on the top of the mountains (as shown in the picture below). This is the case for almost every mountain here, which is quite unusual.

The picture below shows a luxurious room called "Baan Chom Dao". It has air conditioning and a private bathroom, making it very comfortable. However, I personally think that the view is not as beautiful as the room I am staying in. Hehe~

Only these two can tell you if the view is good or not. ^^

As the sun sets, the sky darkens, providing the perfect opportunity to showcase the nighttime ambiance of our guest rooms.

The image below shows the atmosphere with a picture of a spinning star at night. The star is quite shaky and blurry because the wooden bridge was moving all the time. So I got what I got in the picture. T_T

After taking photos, I went to bed to prepare for waking up early to watch the sunrise the next day.

**Day 2**

This morning, I woke up super early to catch the sunrise. As soon as I woke up, I rushed to the end of the bridge. Don't ask if I brushed my teeth yet, I'm not telling you.

We would like to highlight the morning as the highlight of our visit here. The weather during this time is very cool and comfortable, and the sunrise is truly indescribable. If you come here and don't wake up in time, you will miss the best impression. Really, really ^_^

The moment the sun rose, I really wanted to stop time right now.

After enjoying the morning atmosphere, the sun started to get stronger and the air became hotter, so we decided to have breakfast.

For breakfast, you can choose between rice porridge and a breakfast set. You can only choose one. If you want to add more, you have to pay extra. My team and I all chose breakfast, so there are no pictures of rice porridge to review. *0*

Breakfast includes bread, sausage, and fried eggs. I wish there was a little more variety.

Overall Summary

After staying for 2 days, I would like to summarize the pros and cons as follows:

Pros

  • The atmosphere is indescribable, peaceful, and very natural. It's worth the price.
  • Not far from the city, perfect for a weekend getaway without having to wait for a holiday.
  • Although it's a shared bathroom, it's very clean.
  • The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Disadvantages

  • Personally, I think the breakfast is a bit small. At least if you can't choose both, give more ^^
  • If you go during the hot season, the weather is especially hot. But if you go during the rainy season, the weather is good~

For me, this is one of the most impressive places in Kanchanaburi. Compared to other places near Bangkok, this place has the highest level of natural beauty. If I were 5-6 years old now, I would definitely cry and throw a tantrum, refusing to go home. I really don't want to leave after staying here. If I have the chance, I will definitely visit again, and I will not miss the rainy season!
