"The Talking Buddha" is renowned for its sacredness. It is said that King Naresuan the Great devised a plan to boost the morale of his soldiers by having one of them climb the stairs behind the Buddha statue and give an encouraging speech to the troops. This gave rise to the legend of the "Talking Buddha".
