"Phu Chi Fa" ...During the rainy season, there are fewer people and you can see the mist floating around.

This trip... we will go to "Chiang Rai" with the main destination being "Phu Chi Fa" during the rainy season. Like this... It's a short trip to Chiang Rai... Saturday, Sunday... a relaxing weekend...

We set off from Don Mueang with a total of 4 people, thanks to the 0 baht promotion that carried over to the new year. We left Bangkok around noon, and our rough itinerary was to focus on visiting "Phu Chi Fa".

DAY 1

11:30 AM Let's go!

You can wake up late today. Come to the airport comfortably, no need to rush. Starting the journey around noon like this, it's a waste of half a day of travel. But it doesn't matter, we're going to fight anyway... It takes about 1 hour and a half to get to Chiang Rai. We have arrived in Chiang Rai.

Before we set off, we had already contacted our accommodation, which was located at Phu Chi Fa. Since we were visiting during the low season, there were very few tourists. We booked our stay at "Rai Phu Fa", which included two meals. We paid a deposit of half the amount before we arrived.

1:30 PM. From Chiang Rai to Thoeng District

It's already 1:30 PM after taking a bus from the airport to Chiang Rai Bus Terminal. During this low season, I don't see many buses going directly to Phu Chi Fa.

So I will take the sweet van to Teng first, and then find a car to go up to Phu Chi Fa. Chiang Rai-Teng buses are frequent, almost every half hour.

Enjoying the scenic view while chilling on the roadside... The fare is 32 baht and the journey takes about 1.30 hours. It's definitely worth it! ...Taking in the atmosphere along the way...

After arriving at A. Thoeng, we walked around asking for a car to take us up to Phu Chi Fa. Of course, it's hard to find a songthaew to go up the mountain, or they don't run during the low season like this. But luckily, we found a car for hire called "Uncle Ja" that offers pick-up and drop-off services to the mountain. We hired the car to take us to our accommodation, pick us up in the morning to see the sea of mist at the top of the mountain, and then take us back to our accommodation. They will pick us up again when we check out, all for 1400 baht. Divided by 4 people, it comes out to a little over 300 baht per person, which is very good value. (Normally, from what I've researched, hiring a songthaew for this program costs 1500 baht, but we were lucky to find Uncle Ja's car for hire, so we agreed immediately... it's more comfortable to sit in too.)

This car will take us to Phu Chi Fa. We can comfortably fit 4 people in it. It's starting to get late, and the fog is rolling in. The fog is really thick...

At the fork, turn right to go to Phu Chi Fa . As for us, we will go to the accommodation first, so turn left to go to "Rai Phu Fa" . During this time, Rai Phu Fa called to ask all the time. Where are we going? Because they will prepare food for us. So we can eat it hot when we arrive.

5:45 PM Check in to "Rai Phu Fah" resort.

Arriving at "Rai Phupha", it was almost 6 pm. Today, there was only one group that came to stay, and that was... us.

The atmosphere today is therefore peaceful and quiet amidst the cold weather. "Rai Phu Fah" After checking in, I felt that the highlight of this place is its tranquility and separation from the cluster of accommodations at the foot of the mountain. Because after seeing the accommodations at the foot of the mountain, I felt that I made the right choice to come here because the price is not different. However, Rai Phu Fah looks more chill and less chaotic.

And this is our first meal.. We are very hungry.. The food is served hot.. There are 4-5 dishes.. Today, only our group is here. But during the tourist season, you have to book in advance. Because it will be full..

The menu will be:

  • Tom Yum Gai (very spicy, perfect for a hot day, and you can refill it)
  • Fried fish
  • Omelette (you can refill it as much as you want, if you're not full, Auntie Dang will fry you another one, served hot)
  • Fresh vegetables (fresh cabbage from the farm) with chili paste, delicious...
  • Stir-fried cabbage with fish sauce
  • Stir-fried bamboo shoots

We could refill our rice as much as we wanted, so we were all super full. Then we arranged for the car we had hired to pick us up in the morning. Around 4:30 am, we would wake up to go to the top of Phu Chi Fa. We had a little party before going to sleep.

DAY 2

4:30 AM Wake up early and head to Phu Chi Fa.

At half past four in the morning... the car arrived on time. We were ready to climb Yod Phu Chi Fa. The weather was cold... Looking up at the sky, it was full of stars. Not long after leaving our accommodation, we reached the path leading to the summit. From there, we had to walk about 700 meters to reach Yod Phu Chi Fa. It was very dark, so we had to feel our way. It was still dark, and we couldn't see very well. A flashlight was very important! We climbed and felt our way until we reached the summit. Today, we claimed Yod Phu Chi Fa for ourselves because there were no other tourists except for our group of four and another group of two tourists. So we were able to take photos freely.

Dense fog has covered the area. I'm waiting to watch the sunrise this morning with the cool breeze blowing gently.

The mist is just within reach. The air is so good... I can breathe the fresh air...

With so few people around, it's easy to take photos. The mist drifts playfully across the mountains, creating a beautiful, light, and fluffy scene.

This must be... capturing the impression. I really like this kind of atmosphere..

Living things around ..on the top of Phu Chi Fa

After admiring the beauty of the sea of mist and the sunrise, I walked down to capture a clear picture of **"Phu Chi Fa"**. *It points to the Lao side over there...*

The sea of fog was visible throughout the descent. The steep path led down from the mountain, and the valley below was still filled with fog. It looked completely white...

Walking down will be the foot of the mountain. Cars can only come up to this point, where they will wait for us. There are shops selling instant noodles, tea, and coffee available in this area. Sipping hot coffee in the morning with this kind of weather is excellent.

8:30 AM Relaxing in the morning atmosphere

Then... the car took me to my accommodation and arranged to pick me up again at noon, the check-out time, to return to Thoeng District. When I arrived at the accommodation, they had prepared hot rice porridge for me to eat. Along with tea, coffee, and Ovaltine, which I could help myself to!

Sipping hot rice porridge while enjoying the atmosphere. Last night there was a lot of fog, I couldn't see anything. When I came back at noon, I could see the view. It's so beautiful... After we had our fill of hot rice porridge, we went for a walk to digest our food and enjoy the view around the accommodation.

After a walk around the farm to let our food settle, we went back to our accommodation to sleep some more. 55... We hadn't slept much and the weather was so cool and comfortable that we had to take a nap. We slept for 2-3 hours with the doors open, enjoying the cool breeze and nature. It was a truly relaxing and comfortable experience.

12.00 p.m. Let's go home!

When it was time to check out, I woke up, took a shower, and got ready to travel back to Amphoe Thoeng. The car was waiting for me on time, as usual, before taking me back to Amphoe Thoeng. Once I arrived in Thoeng, I had to take this car again to get to Chiang Rai city center.

We didn't stay long before heading back to Chiang Rai city and then getting ready to go to the airport. It was a short trip, "Visiting Phu Chi Fa during the rainy season", which was fun and had a good atmosphere. I liked that there were few people, it wasn't crowded. The atmosphere was peaceful, and I could take photos comfortably. I'll definitely have to visit again!
