If you are looking for affordable and well-located accommodation near Sukhothai Historical Park, Le Charme Resort Sukhothai is an excellent option.

The Le Charme Resort Sukhothai is located in a soi, not far from the main road. The area is also home to a community of Sangkhalok pottery makers. Just a short walk away, you will find the Traphang Thong Market and the Sukhothai Historical Park.

The room we will be staying in today is the Deluxe Room.

The surrounding atmosphere is excellent, but during the day, the sun can be quite hot (actually, it's not just a little, haha). There are many trees and a fish pond in the center.

From Le Charme Resort Sukhothai to the city is not far at all, only 12 kilometers. When you come to Sukhothai, you must try Sukhothai noodles, the original recipe of which is called "Ta Pui". It is the original recipe of Sukhothai noodles.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes. We ordered Tom Yum with thin rice noodles. The highlight of Sukhothai noodles is the thinly sliced long beans, sprinkled with peanuts and seasoned with palm sugar. It was delicious without any additional seasoning. The marinated pork was also very tender and flavorful.

After finishing our meal and before checking into our accommodation, we decided to visit the historical park since it was still open. We rented bicycles across the street from the park for only 20 baht each and set off on our exploration.

Despite having a map, we still got lost, and quite badly at that. We ended up just riding around the historical park, stopping to take pictures wherever we found something beautiful. Luckily, there weren't many people around, far fewer than in Ayutthaya.

Sukhothai: A World Heritage Site with Few Visitors

Sukhothai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was surprisingly devoid of visitors on the day of my visit, save for a small tour group. I sincerely hope that more Thai people will visit such historical and cultural landmarks. Not only would they be able to appreciate the artistic and cultural heritage of the Sukhothai period, but they would also gain valuable insights into Thailand's history.

The historical differences between Ayutthaya and Sukhothai are striking. In Ayutthaya, each temple and historical site is relatively far apart, while in Sukhothai, they are clustered together. Additionally, the atmosphere in Sukhothai is remarkably pleasant. Upon entering the historical park, one hardly feels like they are in an ancient city; it feels more like a public park (which, in a way, it is, as it serves as a green space for the old city). Cycling around the park is a delightful experience, offering a sense of tranquility and peace.

I'll be back again next time.
