Solo Female Traveler in Krabi, September 3-4, 2016

The "Vance Girl" experienced all four seasons in one day: rain, sunshine, and even a touch of winter chill.

Spending the entire day working can get monotonous. To alleviate this boredom, I opened the Expedia app and discovered a round-trip flight and accommodation package for 25xx baht.

We have long wanted to visit Krabi, but we have never had the opportunity to do so because our travel plans are always full every week (we are addicted to travel).

Ultimately, we decided to book tickets for this trip. Let's go! Even if it's just for 2 days and 1 night, we'll go. There's no turning back now.

As expected, let's go...

Pray for no rain.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the pitter-patter of raindrops.

Plan A: If it doesn't rain, we will rent a motorbike from Krabi town and drive to Ao Nang, following our planned route. Plan B: If it rains, we will take a shuttle bus to Ao Nang and see what we can do there.

Day 1

Due to the rain upon our arrival, we opted for Plan B and took a shuttle bus to Ao Nang for 150 baht.

Stay at Glur hotel, pay a deposit of 100 baht. Breakfast is available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. ...

Waiting to check in

The bed we sleep on.

Upon arriving at our accommodation, we checked in and proceeded to rent a motorbike. The rental cost was 200 baht per day with a 3,000 baht deposit. We provided our identification card and rented the motorbike at 12:30 pm.

We drove towards Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam. We opened the GPS to Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam, which was about 29 kilometers from our accommodation.

However, we got lost and ended up at Nong Talay, so we decided to change our plan and visit Nong Talay instead. But it turned out that we got lost again, driving around and around until we finally reached Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam at 2:45 PM. It was raining heavily 😂.

Park the car, walk to buy a 20 baht ticket, talk to the ticket seller, and wait for the rain to stop.

As the rain began to drizzle, it was time to take some photos. Even though I was alone, I set up my camera, arranged the angles, and started shooting without caring about the people around me.

We visited during the rainy season, when there were not many people around. We mainly saw children playing in the water. (This is one of the advantages of traveling during the rainy season.)

Pose instructions, please.

Departed from Tha Pom Pier at 4:00 PM.

Stopped by the market and bought a glass of iced milk for 10 baht and two bags of sticky rice with chicken for 5 baht each.

Arrival at the accommodation at approximately 5:20 PM.

The original text describes an evening spent in Ao Nang, Thailand. Here's the translated version:

After relaxing until 9 pm, I drove out to check tour options for the next day, but couldn't find anything suitable. On the way back, I stopped for a bowl of red pork wonton noodles, which cost 50 baht.

It was late, and I wasn't sure where to go. Ao Nang doesn't seem to have many places to hang out, or maybe I just couldn't find them. So, I drove back to my accommodation around 10 pm, took a shower, and went to sleep.

Day 2

Woke up at 6 am, rushed out to find .... A bright Sunday morning, luckily it didn't rain, the plan didn't fall through. After packing up, we rushed out of the accommodation at 6:45 am.

The journey from Ao Nang to Namtok Ron Waterfall in Khlong Thom is approximately 65 kilometers. The drive offers scenic views and a cool breeze, with no rain. Along the way, we stopped to buy sticky rice with grilled chicken for 30 baht.

Arrived at the waterfall at 8:13 AM. Bought a ticket for 25 baht. The advantage of going early is that there are no people, so you can take pictures comfortably. ...

Departing from the waterfall at 09:45 AM, we headed towards Emerald Pool, approximately 8 kilometers away.

As of 10:15 AM, the parking fee is 10 baht and the entrance fee is 20 baht.

Hike 4,000 meters through natural landscapes.

We arrived at Emerald Pool. Even though it was still early, there were quite a few people, but not too many.

Our visit was short-lived as the Sa Nang Manora Forest Park was closed due to the ongoing bird nesting season. The park officials informed us that it would remain closed until the nesting period is over. We were disappointed, as usual.

No sooner had we left Emerald Pool than it began to rain heavily.

I waited for a long time, wondering if I should just drive away. I had to return the car by 12:30 p.m., and I also had to check out of my room at the same time. I looked at my watch and saw that it was already 11:45 a.m. I decided to just go for it and drove through the rain for 40 kilometers. It rained the whole way. Around noon, I received a call from the hotel telling me that I had to check out immediately. When I arrived in Krabi Town, the sun was shining brightly. The rain that I had driven through had disappeared. At 12:45 p.m., my phone rang again. I pulled over to answer it. It was the owner of the accommodation calling to tell me that the owner of the car was looking for me. It was also time for me to check out. He complained a little, and I apologized and explained that I had been caught in the rain and was now in the city center. I asked for another half hour to get there.

13:45 p.m. Arrived in Ao Nang ^_^ The sky was clear and bright, a stark contrast to the heavy rain in Khlong Thom. We returned the car, apologizing for being an hour late, and checked out of our accommodation. We then asked the owner if we could take a shower before leaving. Around 2 p.m., we started walking aimlessly on the sidewalk.

The motorcycle taxi driver honked his horn and offered a ride for 20 baht. The passenger agreed, and they set off.

Take a leisurely stroll on the beach, capture some stunning photos, and unwind for a while.

As the day wore on, hunger pangs began to set in. Having only had two sticks of sticky rice with grilled pork for breakfast, I decided to cross the street and buy a roti for 30 baht.

At 3:40 PM, take the bus from Ao Nang to the city center for 50 baht. Then, transfer to the airport bus at the black crab statue for another 50 baht.

Arriving at the airport a little after 5 pm, I waited for my flight at 7 pm. I arrived at Don Mueang at 8:15 pm, and it was almost 10 pm by the time I reached my room. I'm exhausted, but it was fun. I was already tanned, but now I'm even more tanned and sunburned!
