Destination: Penang
Hello everyone in the Readme community.
This is our first travel and tourism review post.
I have traveled to many places, but on this trip, I was particularly mindful and was able to remember almost everything.
Perhaps your friends will try backpacking in Penang too.
Let's get started.
The story begins in December.
I recently visited Penang, Malaysia.
3 days 2 nights
What are the attractions in Penang?

No answer available at this time.
Let us continue listening to your story.
We did very little homework before going, and I mean very little. 55
Penang is known for its cool street art and trendy murals, but what else is there to discover?
After reading ten reviews, I made a list of places I want to visit.
The food is tempting, but I still don't feel connected to Penang.
As we neared our destination, confusion set in. "Wait, what am I supposed to be doing here?"
We opted for a minivan from Hat Yai to Penang.
Book your round-trip flight tickets from Bangkok to Hat Yai in advance.
Airline ticket prices vary.
We booked the earliest flight for the outbound journey and the latest flight for the return journey.
Price: 1,580 baht
The reason for choosing the earliest flight (06:30-08:00) is to allow for travel from Hat Yai Airport to...
For van ticket reservations.
Roundtrip ferry service from Hat Yai to Penang offered by KST company.
At a price of 800 baht.
The journey takes approximately 4-6 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
You can select your desired date and book your appointment directly on the website.
You will receive an email with the account number to transfer the money.
Please provide your name, phone number, and travel details again.
One day before our departure,
The company will call us and ask where we want the car to be delivered in Penang.
Just tell the driver the name of your accommodation, and they will take you there and pick you up when you're ready to leave.
Accommodation
For this trip, I am traveling solo.
Accommodation is not a major concern, as I am flexible with sleeping arrangements.
2 nights via Agoda's website.
Single bed room with shared bathroom.
The total price is 753 baht.
Key things to manage before traveling
With this, we are ready to conquer Penang.
What will happen next? Stay tuned.
The food may be delicious, but if it's not, there's always 7-Eleven to save the day with instant noodles.
Various tourist attractions can be visited by taking a leisurely stroll or, if you prefer, by cycling. It's not difficult.
It's a small town, so there's probably nothing exciting to see.
The weakening of the ringgit presents an opportune moment for shopping.
Abbreviation: RM
Exchange rate against Thai baht
Approximately 1 Malaysian Ringgit equals 10 Thai Baht.
The ringgit is currently experiencing significant depreciation.
The exchange rate is 1 Ringgit = 8.3.
Exchanging Thai Baht for Ringgit
Available in multiple locations.
For example, Super Rich Green, which guarantees the best rate.
Malaysia's electrical system operates at 240 volts.
Therefore, it is necessary to bring a power adapter.
Driving and Using Roads
Drive on the right side of the road, just like in our country.
>>>Weather<<<
The weather was hot and humid, with heavy rain. >>> When the day of the journey arrived. <<<
Flight schedule Bangkok-Hat Yai
Don Mueang International Airport
Waking up is harder than the morning file.
The alarm is too early!
The crowd is relatively small.
We can skip this step, as we have already checked in early.
And the tickets have been printed neatly, even though our tickets are large on A4 paper.
However, it saves time in this part because if we are slow,
"Final Call" might not be the only challenge we face. We could also miss our flight, which would be a disaster.
Let's head straight to the baggage claim area to check our luggage.
Do not bring more luggage than the airport allows. Otherwise, you will have to leave it behind.
The guest is heading towards Hat Yai and is located on the lowest floor.
Before boarding, take the opportunity to use the restroom and attend to any personal needs.
Just hop on the bus.
Gaze at the clouds, let your mind wander freely, and drift all the way to Hat Yai.
The sky outside is so beautiful. Snap!! I love the pastel colors.
This is clearly moving through the fog. I'm feeling great right now.
We have officially arrived in Hat Yai for the first time.
What's next after arriving in Hat Yai?
Don't look for fried chicken, it's not for sale. 55
Upon reaching the exit gate, we inquired with the security guard.
Where can I catch a bus to Kim Yong Market?
The security guard informed me that if I wasn't in a hurry, I could take the blue shared taxi outside, which is a straight walk and costs 30 baht.
The security guard then provided the following advice:
To the left of the exit door.
A van ticket booth with a salesperson waiting.
The car leaves quickly.
We can head straight there. The van stop is easy to find. Just exit the gate and you'll see it.
A ticket costs 100 baht. We told him that we would get off at Kim Yong Market.
The driver asked, "Where are you going next? Are you crossing the street?"
Okay, drop me off in front of KST company then. Please send me to the location.
Traffic in Hat Yai city center is moderately heavy, with a travel time of approximately 20 minutes.
The car company has arrived.
They will take care of filling out all the immigration forms for you.
All that remains is for us to sign.
Luggage storage is available.
We have another hour. Let's grab a bite to eat before we continue.
Walk along the right side of the road.
A pastel-colored Chino-Portuguese style building.
Across the street, there is a rice and curry restaurant.
Soldiers march on their stomachs. Let's fill our bellies before we go.
For the long journey ahead.
9:30 a.m.
Choose your favorite seat. First come, first served.
This round has a total of 8 passengers.
Passengers may be picked up along the way.
The car stopped to drop something off, and then it started raining.
The good weather we were expecting this morning has vanished.
Through natural paths and rice fields.
Forests, rubber plantations, and palm oil plantations.
We have arrived at Ban Prakob Checkpoint, Songkhla Province.
This is likely a fee required for crossing the border with a vehicle.
Then, get back on the van at the same spot.
Our vehicle accommodates passengers of various nationalities.
The process may take slightly longer than usual due to the extended document verification time required for non-Thai citizens.
While we waited, we chatted with the driver.
Arriving in Penang around 3:00 PM Malaysian time.
(Malaysia time is 1 hour ahead of Thailand time.)
After reading numerous reviews,
Convenient, fast, and very satisfying.
Some van reviews mention a stop for a meal and to exchange Ringgit currency.
We may need to stop for gas, but luckily we stocked up on plenty of food, snacks, milk, and butter.
With all passengers on board, the journey continues.
Crossing this Thai border will take you into Malaysia.
Farewell to my hometown, I will return soon.
We arrived at the Malaysian checkpoint within a few moments.
This is because bags need to be scanned.
---All items from the Malaysian checkpoint, including water bottles, must be unloaded.---
According to previous reviews, the Malaysian checkpoint only scans fingerprints.
With that, the process was complete. I walked out and presented my belongings to the officer.
That's all, the same. All steps are completed.
The old man is waiting for you to get in the van.
It appears as though someone is supervising the children as they board the school bus.
Let's go to Penang Convent! The atmosphere is perfect for it.
Have we officially set foot on Malaysian soil?
The internet is no longer available.
Wait until you arrive in Penang to arrange your mobile phone SIM card.
Airplane Mode is activated.
Listening to music, admiring the birds and trees.
The unseen path we took was breathtaking. We loved the atmosphere of the rubber plantation.
The scenery was so breathtaking that I wanted to ask the driver to stop the car so I could get out and take a picture.
Rich in natural resources.
Gazing at the mountain scenery, I soon drifted off to sleep.
I have been asleep for a very long time, but it is not yet time.
As we entered the main road, the rice fields disappeared.
The air is humid, I think it's going to rain soon.
Still not there, fell asleep again.
This time, I was startled to find a young foreign child sleeping behind the seat I was sitting in.
The child must have been sleepwalking, kicking with great force.
As if deliberately awakened at the right moment.
We have entered the long bridge in Penang.
The view of the sea on both sides of the road is very beautiful.
The bridge is also very long.
A van drove into the city center of Georgetown, Penang.
We're almost there, just past this apartment building.
Hello from Penang.
We arrived at the accommodation at 3:30 PM.
The arrival was delayed by 30 minutes due to traffic congestion.
"Just to confirm, you will pick us up at our accommodation on the return date, correct?"
Our accommodation is Kimberley House.
A guesthouse that many have commented on as being good, clean, and safe.
Notably, the property is conveniently located near food sources, shopping malls, and Komtar, Penang's central transportation hub.
Payment for accommodation has been made.
However, there are additional fees as follows:
- VAT 4 RM (Ringgit)
Once you have completed your business here, a staff member will escort you to your room.
We stayed on the top floor.
Interior hall
Please remove your shoes before entering.
There is a seating area.
Side view first.
Not too wide, not too narrow, living alone is very comfortable.
Single plug angle
Remember to bring a power adapter and a power strip.
We are truly sorry, but we forgot to take a picture.
The bathroom is clean and spacious, with strong water pressure. There is a separate sink outside the bathroom.
There is a clothesline, but we couldn't find an iron. 555
The hair dryer is convenient, but it may not be suitable when you are in a hurry.
>>> Other Accommodation Information <<<
We are very concerned about the safety of our shoes when taking them off.
The shoes must be placed downstairs because there are many children on that floor.
Fearing loss or accidental replacement, I decided to wrap it in a plastic bag and carry it upstairs.
Food and drinks are not allowed in the room.
You can sit and eat in the lobby, where water and soft drinks are available for purchase.
More affordable than other stores.
The hotel staff were at the counter very late at night.
Free coffee and snacks are available in the lobby.
Food is available all the time. When the food runs out, the staff will immediately refill it.
No raincoat? Great.
Let's run to the Comtar building.
Turn left at the first alley from the accommodation.
Aim for the coordinates on the right side, under the shopping mall.
The rain is not heavy, but it shows no signs of stopping.
Upon entering the mall,
In haste.
Moderate speed, supports video calls on LINE.
There may be some buffering in areas with weak signal strength.
Unable to go anywhere, the rain is still falling. Strolling around the mall.
My stomach started to growl with hunger, so I decided to head to Gurney Drive as soon as possible.
"Gurney Drive" is a bustling night market offering a variety of street food stalls along the waterfront.
The atmosphere is similar to Hua Hin in Thailand, with a wide variety of affordable food options.
Getting to Gurney Drive
Public Transportation:
- Rapid Penang Bus: Take bus routes 101, 102, 103, 104, 301, 302, 303, 304, 401, or 402 to Gurney Drive.
- Free Shuttle Bus: The CAT (Congestion Alleviation Transport) provides a free shuttle service along Gurney Drive.
Taxi:
Taxis are readily available throughout Penang and can be hailed on the street or booked through a ride-hailing app.
Car:
Gurney Drive is easily accessible by car. There are several parking options available, including street parking and multi-storey car parks.
Walking:
Gurney Drive is a pedestrian-friendly area and can be easily reached on foot from nearby hotels and attractions.
Note:
- Public transportation schedules and routes may vary. It is recommended to check with the relevant authorities for the most up-to-date information.
- Traffic conditions can be heavy during peak hours. Allow extra time for your journey if traveling by car.
Wait for the bus under this building.
If you take bus 103, it will drop you off directly at the bus stop opposite Plaza Gurney mall.
However, we discovered a straightforward journey.
We had to queue behind 10 people, so we decided to go without hesitation.
It's like we're also taking in the city sights.
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes, with our destination located on the right-hand side.
A short walk straight ahead will lead you to a row of restaurants.
A diverse array of food and a bustling crowd, reminiscent of an international food festival.
The broth, however, resembles a tom yum soup, which at first glance looks similar to our khao soi.
We watched them cook, but didn't order anything. We really don't know how to eat it.
Our goal is to eat satay.
Reserving a table by purchasing water demonstrates ownership and signifies, "This table is mine."
We are also curious, can you please take a seat first? We will order drinks shortly.
Or can we buy food first? In conclusion, we tried it and sat still for a while.
The vendor approached and asked, "Would you like anything to drink? We have Coke, Sprite, and fruit juice. Order anything you like."
We ordered a Coke, which cost around 2.25 RM.
Free plain ice water. Reserve a table with water, and then you can order as many dishes as you like.
The table is not being taken away. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Hmm, I understand.
And then, as luck would have it,
After a long search, we finally found our goat satay stall right here.
The grilling technique is extraordinary. I really like it while the chef is grilling the satay.
The Malay-style Indian music played intermittently, setting the perfect ambiance.
The moment the fire engulfed everything, My God! What a spectacle!
The dipping sauce is similar to our own, but there is no watery pickled vegetable relish. Instead, there is a dry pickled vegetable relish, which is very unique.
Each type of meat has a different price, ranging from 0.80 to 1.20 RM.
The first time I tasted goat meat, it was an exquisite experience.
The dipping sauce may be more palatable to our taste buds, especially with the addition of pickled vegetables.
Excellent! The lamb skewers are a definite hit, 4 out of 4!
Dried squid, grilled and pressed into sheets, while waiting in line to buy.
And then I came across Rojak.
A medley of exotic fruits, tossed in a sauce of intriguing flavors.
Similar to sweet fish sauce with mango, but it's even better.
"I don't think guava would go well with this dish, so we requested that it be omitted."
If you prefer a spicy or mild flavor, feel free to order accordingly.
The price ranges from 5 to 8 RM. The lower the price, the smaller the quantity.
For only 5 RM, you can have a satisfying meal.
And when it is thoroughly mixed with the aforementioned sauce,
Topped with crispy youtiao and ground peanuts.
This is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this product.
If you have the chance, try it. You'll love it.
The impressive Gurney Drive area.
The sheer abundance of food was overwhelming, making it impossible to capture everything in photographs.
Distracted by the search for food, particularly stir-fried noodles or Malaysian-style noodles.
A pleasant stroll, close to the beach, with a wonderful atmosphere.
However, if the food is not to your liking or you would like to purchase additional items,
Sweets, soft drinks, candies, chewing gum, the entrance we walked through to the restaurant.
Behind the building, there is a 7-Eleven. Can you tell me the location of the Mama Cup noodles?
Having our fill at Gurney Drive, we decided to take a stroll through the mall.
Plaza Gurney is considered an upscale shopping mall.
From the restaurant outside, walk along the path up to the seaside.
We didn't explore the entire mall, but we did make a quick stop at the supermarket on the lower floor.
Many items are cheaper than in our country. At Watsons, the girls are shopping in droves.
The prices here are surprisingly lower than back home. Shopaholics would definitely enjoy themselves here.
Our eyes are still working, looking for more food.
Oh!! I found my favorite ice cream.
Having eaten a great deal, it seemed appropriate to return to the Comtar building by car.
Okay, the way back is very easy. We will take bus number 103.
Exit through the back door of the mall and turn left to return to the restaurant.
Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout you saw earlier, then cross the street to the opposite side.
Any bus route passing this way must display "Komtar" as its destination.
The bus will then stop and drop us off next to the shopping mall near the Comtar building.
The malls in this area close very early, with things starting to quiet down as early as 8 pm. We're not sure where to go.
People are queuing on the other side of the street, waiting to buy something.
Several vehicles dropped off their passengers and then proceeded to park elsewhere.
Upon arrival, each person immediately ordered a box to take home.
Excuse me, I can't see what you're selling from where I'm standing. What are you selling?
I couldn't read Chinese either. As my turn approached, I suddenly realized that...
It resembles our local ginger-infused glutinous rice balls.
The vendor will ask: "Which would you like, white sugar or black sugar?"
Sculpted live on the spot.
It's time to taste it.
Complimentary drinking water is available behind the store.
Two large dough balls stuffed with nuts and sesame seeds.
Sweet and fragrant syrup, with a delicious taste.
The story of food doesn't end here.
After getting off the bus, walk back to the accommodation by crossing to the side of the mall.
Female travelers should exercise caution when walking in Penang at night.
Having arrived in Malaysia, it's time to eat.
Please order a drink before sitting down. You are welcome to stay until closing time.
It was past 11 pm when we arrived, and the atmosphere was still lively.
Today's menu is full of delicious dishes.
Tomorrow morning, we will embark on a quest for chic artwork.
The first day went well, but the rain made us feel annoyed.
Fainting is not the same as being tired.
Waking up, getting ready to take a shower.
After completing personal tasks, it's time to go for a walk.
Although the price was reasonable, the market was unfortunately closed for one day. We decided to explore the surrounding market in the morning instead.
From the left-hand intersection of the accommodation, we walked straight ahead aimlessly.
I found a shop selling rice wrapped in chili paste that everyone who eats there says is delicious.
The morning rush hour has begun, and the streets are already crowded with vehicles.
We then came across small markets on both sides of the road.
They sell fruits, snacks, and newspapers.
Soft tapioca flour dumplings, like the ones I had last night, were also available for purchase.
Across from the roti shop, there is a stir-fried noodle shop.
As the rain falls lightly, we would like to sit and eat at the restaurant.
There were no empty seats, so I bought it to go and ate it at my seat.
A madman who enjoys photographing buildings.
A beautiful woman walked past the camera.
Perfect for our breakfast.
It's time to open the stir-fried noodles package. I have the chopsticks that the restaurant provided.
Abundant portions for a truly satisfying meal.
Located near a 7-Eleven, I stocked up on water and snacks.
This marks the beginning of the drama, which I never expected to encounter in Penang.
However, we observed that the staff here take good care of tourists.
No passport required. Please provide your accommodation name and we will explain the rental and deposit fees.
The return time is 10:30 AM while in the store.
May I confirm the return time again? The deadline is 10:30 AM, correct?
Please keep the receipt. You will need to present it again.
10:00 AM sharp. Oh, hey! This isn't what we agreed on.
However, if you return the book within five to ten minutes, there will be no penalty.
We decided not to argue further, as we believed there would be no further issues.
But I'm feeling adventurous and want to go for a bike ride. 555
It was a long and arduous journey, leaving me battered and bruised.
The rain is falling, and if I spread out the map, it will get wet again.
Finally, we found the street sign for Lebuh Armenian.
Destination reached. Street art is almost everywhere in this zone.
Murals and new paintings are scattered throughout the nooks and crannies of the buildings.
They walked in the rain, relentlessly pursuing their quarry. It was exhilarating, brutal, and left them battered and bruised.
Let's see what the first picture we find is. Explore the street art district and find a picture.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Bob.
Some people even gave up and walked out early.
Waiting for a long time until there were no people around.
And then I met a big cat. This is a drawing.
The real part is here.
According to the map, the S-shaped drawing is located near the shop selling the most delicious pineapple tarts and egg tarts in Penang.
Grab an egg tart before you rest and recharge.
After a hearty meal, we continued our journey, meandering through the streets and weaving through the traffic on our bicycles.
The vintage aesthetic of the exposed brick wall complements the modern facade.
Nearby, there are various styles of paintings and numerous iron bars.
Entering a zone under construction.
Wandering through the alleyways, no need to fear loneliness, we will have plenty of friends to hunt for drawings.
Some people couldn't find the pictures they were looking for, so they shared information with each other. They seemed very serious about it.
These three figures are located close together, making them easy to find.
The rain continued to fall relentlessly as I walked.
We thought we only needed a few more photos.
I haven't gotten any pictures of the children playing on the swings yet.
Hurriedly walking, legs aching, racing against the falling rain.
It's worth noting that this is quite subtle, almost as if they were playing hide-and-seek.
As we approached our accommodation, surprisingly, it wasn't raining there.
Or Bukit Bendera, as it is known to Penangites
No matter how far you go, you won't get lost at the last stop.
The price is 2 RM and the journey takes approximately 40 minutes.
More beautiful than imagined, the clouds and mist slowly drifted around the Goddess of Mercy.
I could only take this picture while I was in the car.
This will result in a card that looks like this.
Follow the entrance signs and insert your card, just like when entering a train station.
The air up here is excellent and refreshing.
The viewpoint is a great spot for taking photos.
#Penang, the city of romance
As the number of people taking selfies at the scenic spot increased, we decided to move away.
The People's Corner Chair
We spent approximately two hours on Penang Hill, leisurely strolling and taking in the surrounding scenery.
In my heart, I truly wished to wait until nightfall to admire the evening view.
The fog descends as the drizzle falls, bringing a bone-chilling cold.
My stomach is growling, I'm starving! Let's head down the mountain and grab something to eat. The line will be longer on the way back up.
The air-conditioned bus was refreshingly cool, but the heavy rain and traffic jam made for a slow journey.
It took approximately 50 minutes to reach the Comtar building.
Quickly walk back to the street near your accommodation, in the Lebuh Kimberley area.
At night, we have to walk in the alley to avoid cars.
Walking along the roadside is not very convenient, so it is necessary to walk under the shophouses like this.
We would like to express our appreciation for the fish balls, tofu cheese, and other tofu fish products.
Can be happily eaten repeatedly.
Here it is, cheese tofu. Don't count the number of sticks.
After finishing the food, we went to choose more ingredients and had them freshly cooked. The owner was very friendly and took good care of us.
The drama at the bike shop remains to be seen.
The thrill of cycling on the open road lies in the constant need for vigilance.
And she kept nodding her head, saying, "Excuse me, please don't judge my father in your heart."
Adorable, isn't it? Let's go to the shop and try the 3D latte art.
After a while, we started exploring the shop and then went to pay.
It's time to return the bicycle. Since yesterday, I've been cycling around Little India.
The price of 1 RM is very cheap.
We then explained the incident of renting a bicycle to the female employee.
The person in question wrote the time of returning the bicycle, speeding up the time by 30 minutes.
After a while, I encountered this kind of situation, as if they were deliberately teasing me. I tried to communicate with reason and logic.
Previously, the bicycle rental price was around 10 RM per day.
We continue to walk gracefully.
I returned to the morning market I visited yesterday.
At the corner bend, I came across another branch of Min Xiang Tai, a shop selling egg tarts. Perfect timing!
Just a short walk from the egg tart shop, the first alleyway leads to the Chendul shop.
Similar to our Thai "Lod Chong", but with the addition of red beans.
Approximately RM 2-2.10. This popular eatery only offers standing room.
Stocked up on snacks in case of hunger pangs.
As I walked in search of lod chong, the sunlight streamed down.
We believe in its power, that Penang is very, very hot.
The armpit burning sensation is understandable. Fortunately, we will only be here for a short while longer, otherwise we would definitely be roasted.
Everything must be done on time, whether it's walking or eating, but it's fun in a different way.
The van will pick us up at the accommodation at noon. We have 40 minutes left.
We still have time to find something to eat. I'll take you to the local market near our accommodation.
It is located near the lok lok shop in a small alleyway. At night, the alleyway is lined with food stalls.
During the day, the market sells vegetables, fruits, and seafood. I would love to experience the atmosphere there someday.
Is it similar to our local market? There's still time before the van picks us up to take us back to Hat Yai.
Having savored the renowned "Lod Chong," we retraced our steps along the same street.
There will be a four-way intersection ahead, which is the road where we had dinner last night.
However, there is a fresh market in the small alleyway ahead.
Before crossing, stop by to buy some snacks.
5 pieces for 2 RM
The center is slightly raised, creating a crispy texture similar to a taiyaki.
After buying snacks, they crossed the street and went to the market.
Fresh seafood is still available for sale at affordable prices.
Sweets are displayed for sale like this.
Strolling along, I was delighted to find a grocery store selling vegetables.
Household items
A Happy Mini Mart is located across the street from this market.
It is advisable to bring snacks or candy, as the return trip may take longer than expected.
To avoid getting hungry, we returned to the lobby of our accommodation to wait for the car.
We returned around 12:00 p.m. and double-checked our luggage to make sure we hadn't forgotten anything.
The driver approached the window and asked, "Are you enjoying your meal and snacks?"
Will you be returning to Hat Yai? The train arrives at 12:10 PM, as traffic in Penang is likely to be congested again.
The driver also needs to pick up passengers from other accommodations.
I haven't been able to try all the food yet, but I'll definitely be back.
On the return trip, you can choose any available seat.
Minivans will pick up passengers at various locations throughout Penang.
The return trip had a total of 9 passengers, who were comfortably seated in a clean vehicle.
Good condition, polite driver, travel time back 5.30 hours.
The van slowly drove out of Penang city.
Soon, we crossed a long bridge, as usual, with a beautiful view of the sea.
The sun was scorching today, especially during the hour-long journey from Penang.
The van will stop for refueling and allow us to use the restroom.
We will soon reach the Malaysian checkpoint after continuing our journey.
Please proceed to the counter to submit your documents. You may leave your luggage with you.
The afternoon at the checkpoint was not crowded, everything went smoothly and quickly.
Approximately 15:30, we entered the Thai border. Hooray!
We have arrived at the Sadao checkpoint in Songkhla province. There are a lot of people here, it's overwhelming.
We joined the long queue and submitted our documents as usual. The van waited behind the checkpoint.
After completing the various steps, return to the car.
More trouble has erupted.
One passenger is missing from the vehicle. Everyone else is present.
However, one person was missing, and the driver waited for about 15 minutes.
"Why are you just telling me now? 555 The driver is a little upset."
Our journey together begins as we board the van, becoming fellow travelers on this shared path.
Let's take care of each other. If we are fellow Thais, we can talk and ask each other questions.
Remember the members on the bus, we're going the same way, let's take care of each other.
To ensure everyone arrives safely at their destination.
We request to go down to the front of Chok Dee But Teeyim, a dim sum restaurant.
The van dropped us off at the requested location shortly after, but the store was closed. We were devastated.
However, the dim sum restaurant Chok Dee Dim Sum has two branches, and we really want to eat there.
"Excuse me, students. Could you tell me how far the other branch is from here?"
The children suggested taking a motorcycle taxi if the walk was too far, so we hailed one and gave the driver our destination.
Win offered 40 baht, and the deal was closed.
Upon arrival, we were fortunate to find another branch of Chok Dee Tiem located near the Thai Panich Bank.
The restaurant opens at 5:30 PM, so I'll have to wait until then. There are too many obstacles, so I won't eat it.
"Where to next?" asked Win. "Shall we grab some food at Kim Yong Market?"
We agreed to go because we were hungry. We didn't care where we went.
Vin took less than 2 minutes to reach Kim Yong Market.
Guess how much the fare is? It was 40 baht at first.
The taxi fare was outrageous, but luckily the driver gave us directions back to the airport.
120 baht is too expensive. We'll have to wait for the blue songthaew to go back to Hat Yai Airport.
The market is large and spacious, with a wide variety of shops. We found a simple snack to satisfy our hunger.
Before stopping to buy pickled green mangoes on a stick to take home.
This is a cost-effective way to travel, as it only costs 30 baht for transportation.
If you can't find the pick-up point, just ask any vendor in the market. We will pick you up at the corner near Kasikorn Bank.
It's easy to find. Just walk a little past the bank and you'll see a pedestrian bridge. No need to cross, just wait there.
Look for a blue songthaew with a large sign that says "Airport" and hop on!
Buses will be less frequent between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute interval between each bus.
If traveling by other means
For example, a taxi fare of 300 baht.
After 8:00 PM, the price is 500 baht.
The distance from Kim Yong Market to the airport is 12 km.
Travel time is 30-60 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
He had to run to the lane and hail a car.
The driver honked, signaling their understanding. They sped off, carrying a backpack, camera, and other belongings.
Military officers have set up checkpoints to conduct thorough vehicle and baggage inspections.
Avoid bringing anything that could jeopardize your safety.
From Kim Yong Market at 5:30 PM.
Arrived at Hat Yai Airport at 18:20.
50-minute journey for 30 baht.
The conversation with the kind driver was very pleasant.

There are many other places we plan to visit in Penang.
The first time was very impressive. I still think about it even after I've come back.
I will definitely have to go back again. As for the cost of buying happiness for this trip,
As previously outlined,
1. Round-trip flight ticket from Bangkok to Hat Yai for 1,580 baht.
2. Accommodation cost for 2 nights: 753 Baht
6. The Penang Hill Funicular Railway costs approximately 300 baht.
7. Mobile SIM card fee: 200 baht
8. Miscellaneous expenses in Penang (depending on individual lifestyle)
We exchanged about 2,000 baht more.
However, there is still a lot left.
Despite having eaten many things,
This includes essential expenses, excluding food costs, which vary depending on individual preferences.
The budget will be within 4,000 baht.
Due to the high cost of direct flights to Penang, we opted for a more affordable option and traveled by van.
The trip was very comfortable and memorable.
