Hello, friends, brothers, and sisters of Readme SOtraveler. I invite everyone to follow and read the review of a Thai restaurant with an interesting gimmick, which is to serve street food menus on the Rooftop with a restaurant called BANGKOK HEIGHTZ.
Bangkok Heightz's culinary gimmick is Thai street food presented with a unique and visually striking twist. Each dish is meticulously crafted and adorned with an eye-catching presentation, unlike anything you've ever seen before. Imagine each dish as a top model strutting down the runway, captivating the audience with their stunning looks.
The restaurant's design concept aligns with the theme of its menu, which evokes the ambiance of street food in Bangkok. The hotel recreates the experience of dining on a wooden table and chairs by the roadside, complete with exposed electrical wires and meters hanging overhead.
This sentence describes the atmosphere of Bangkok Street Food, a familiar sight to many. Bangkok Heightz invites everyone to "Sit & Sip" in a restaurant and bar setting from early evening until late at night. DJs will play commercial music for a relaxed and chill vibe.
The restaurant's view aligns with the open corner of Asoke intersection, unobstructed by any buildings. This open corner offers a perfectly framed view.
The initial concept of the design, as mentioned earlier, was to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional Bangkok street food scene. This is evident in the wooden tables and chairs placed along the sidewalk, with a view of the overhead tangle of electrical wires and meters. These details are meticulously incorporated into Bangkok Heightz.
This is purely decorative to create an atmosphere. There is no actual electrical current running through it, so there is no need to worry about getting an electric shock.
This corner of Bangkok Heightz caters to various moments. On some days, it can be a romantic setting for couples, honeymooners, or even just friends. On other occasions, it can be a chill hangout spot for families, groups of friends, or colleagues.
The first thing that caught my eye on the menu was the selection of drinks.
As I opened the menu to choose a drink, I pondered what kind of herbal tea or traditional Thai beverage I should have for this meal.
Ah... When I opened it to read the ingredients...
Hmm...
The entire drink menu consists solely of cocktails. The presentation initially led me to believe that it was a selection of herbal beverages or traditional Thai drinks.
The mixologist at Bangkok Heightz must be grinning from ear to ear, raising a glass to the success of their cocktail combinations that perfectly capture the mood and look of Thai beverages, leaving me completely convinced.
Muay Thai Mule is the name of this cocktail. The ingredients listed on the menu are Thai cocktails made with house gin infused with chili, lime juice, and fresh Pimento ginger.
The taste is spicy and warm. I didn't make a typo. That's right. Spicy and warm means that when you sip it, it gently stimulates your taste buds and leaves a slight warmth in your throat. The aroma comes from the gin being infused with chili peppers. There are three distinct flavors that my tongue can taste: sour, spicy, and sweet. It is served in a silver glass with Thai patterns and comes with a cute little napkin. The presentation is a clear winner with its modern Thai look.
Malai is the name of another cocktail I ordered.
The ingredients listed for the menu item include Thai cocktails made with house rum, apricot liqueur, elderflower syrup, lime, and egg yolk.
The cocktail boasts a sweet and delicate aroma, making it an ideal choice for ladies. Its subtle flirtatiousness adds a touch of novelty to the cocktail experience.
Both cocktails I sampled were exceptional, showcasing the mixologist's impressive creativity. The mixologist shared that...
The bar has completely redesigned its cocktail menu, offering Thai-style cocktails with local ingredients and flavors. Importantly, the cocktails must complement the menu at Bangkok Heights.
The distinctive feature of Bangkok Heights' street food menu lies in its unique presentation and choice of ingredients. Ordinary ingredients are elevated, with shrimp replaced by lobster and pork ribs by lamb ribs, while retaining the authentic flavors and recipes of traditional Thai cuisine.
Let's begin our meal together with our appetizer menu.
Deep-fried spring rolls (Por Pia Tod) are served with a dipping sauce that tastes similar to chicken sauce, but not as strong. The highlight of this dish is the crispness of the wrapper. Even after leaving it for a while and eating other dishes, the spring rolls remained crispy when I dipped them again.
Tod Mun Goong, served with plum sauce, is a deep-fried shrimp cake that offers a satisfyingly firm texture with every bite. The fresh, juicy shrimp shines through, making this dish even more delectable when served hot.
As we began our appetizer course, the outdoor ambiance gradually darkened, inversely proportional to the building's lights, which grew increasingly prominent.
Poo Nim Pad Prik Thai Dam Kai Kem is a dish with a prominent spicy and salty flavor. The ingredients are carefully selected and prepared to create a distinct aroma and taste. The chef's attention to detail in choosing the ingredients is evident in the final dish.
Grilled pork spareribs with BBQ sauce (Pork Spar Rib BBQ) Tender pork spareribs are tossed in a roasted rice sauce with a hint of sourness, likely from the addition of lime, similar to a dipping sauce. The sauce is then tossed with the fragrant grilled pork spareribs.
Pork noodles with fragrant curry powder, served with separate noodles and vegetables. This allows those who dislike vegetables to avoid them. The dish is served in a hot pot, and the taste is similar to traditional Thai pork noodles.
Pineapple fried rice (Khao Phad Supparod) has a distinct pineapple aroma. The taste is predominantly sweet and sour. The rice grains are beautifully fried, soft but not mushy, and not too hard or dry.
The roasted duck red curry (Gaeng Phed Ped Yang) boasts a rich and flavorful profile, with a balanced spiciness that is not overpowering. The key to this dish's allure lies in the perfect balance of its thick, flavorful curry.
The chef de cuisine, the mastermind behind the concept and design of the entire menu, showcases their ideas, inspiration, and experience through the masterful presentation of each dish.
End your meal with a sweet treat, Bua Loy Kai Waan (BUA LOY KAI WAAN), with the fragrant aroma of coconut sugar and the sweet scent of pandan leaves.
The use of high-quality ingredients, creative presentation, and meticulous menu planning, combined with the preparation of dishes using traditional spices and curry pastes according to time-honored recipes, makes Bangkok Hights a truly remarkable Thai restaurant.
According to the concept of the store that
"Bangkok Heightz, our rooftop dining experience, elevates authentic Thai cuisine to new heights."
