Review of what I have learned...
The title of this post may seem familiar to those who are just getting to know each other. Of course, this statement is related to the story in the post that I am about to tell you all.
Today, I traveled to Sukhumvit Soi 22 to get acquainted with Goji Kitchen & Bar. Goji Kitchen & Bar is an international restaurant that coincides with the opening of the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park hotel. The Marriott property name is probably familiar to us, but the Marriott Marquis may not be as well-known.
The Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park is the first Marquis brand in Asia Pacific and the largest hotel in Bangkok, and it is likely to be the largest Marriott in Thailand. With its size, the hotel offers many unique features to discover. I will share more about the Marquis brand when I review the rooms in a later post.
This article will introduce you to Goji Kitchen & Bar. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by the warm and welcoming chefs of Goji Kitchen & Bar.
At the restaurant, each chef is a master chef specializing in a different cuisine.
Goji Kitchen & Bar is an all-day dining restaurant.
Breakfast 6:00 AM – 10:30 AM, Lunch 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM, Dinner 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
The fusion of traditional Thai elements with Goji Kitchen & Bar creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of dining at a friend's home. The use of wood and wood-toned materials contributes to a relaxed and comfortable ambiance.
The table is overflowing with utensils, including multiple pairs of spoons and forks that appear identical. Why provide so many? This is one of the concepts behind Goji Kitchen & Bar, which caters to the fast-paced lifestyle of today's society. If you need a new spoon or fork, you can simply grab one without having to wait for a server to replace it. This allows for an uninterrupted dining experience.
Diners at Goji Kitchen & Bar will be treated to an open kitchen experience, where they can witness the chefs' culinary artistry firsthand.
Glancing at my wristwatch, it was almost noon. I checked the food line and saw that all the dishes were ready. It was time for me to explore the lunch menu for today.
This seafood corner features large, enticing prawns, as well as oysters and mussels.
Fresh, bouncy, and firm shrimp.
New Zealand mussels, large and meaty.
Fresh and sweet oysters
This set of clams, I didn't get to try them.
As I savored the delicious food, I sipped on a specially crafted cocktail by the mixologist. The perfectly balanced ingredients created a harmonious experience, making each sip smooth and effortless. I couldn't resist another glass, and the mixologist's expertise left me captivated by this exceptional cocktail.
This is not your ordinary dim sum. This is lobster shumai.
The must-try dish at Goji Kitchen & Bar is their special recipe har gow.
The steaming hot dim sum is served, filling the air with fragrant aromas. The chef at the station gives a thumbs-up, signaling that the har gow will be ready in about two minutes. The key to achieving the perfect har gow lies in precise timing, ensuring consistent flavor and adherence to the traditional recipe.
The waiter then brought the har gow to our table, reminding us to be careful of the hot soup inside. This is the unique feature of Goji Kitchen & Bar's har gow: the flavorful and juicy soup inside. I have never had har gow with soup inside before; I have only had them with clear wrappers and shrimp fillings. The fragrant and soft dough complements the filling perfectly. As I write this review, I am already craving the har gow from this restaurant.
Som tam and grilled chicken use high-quality ingredients, including large, clear-fleshed dried shrimp.
The Thai food line is very appetizing. The flavors are rich and concentrated, served in a hot pan of panang, tom yum, and green curry. The spicy dishes are truly authentic Thai cuisine, with a generous amount of curry paste and coconut milk.
Camembert, Cheddar, Chevre, Gruyère
The cold cuts, including Coppa, Salami, Mortadella, and Pancetta, are equally tempting.
The sushi is freshly made to order. Chef Pan will arrange the sushi as a sample for you to see. Just tell him what you want and he will make it for you right then and there.
A corner of Thai desserts, shaved ice with a wide variety of toppings to choose from.
This passage describes a personal experience with a specific type of Thai dessert, "khanom krok." The speaker expresses their enjoyment of the dish, noting that it has been a long time since they last had it. They find the experience particularly delightful, suggesting that the specific context or setting enhances their appreciation of the dessert.
