SOtraveler has a review of the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel for you to read and view. The hotel is located near the BTS Prompong Station.
This hotel is conveniently located near shopping malls, train stations, and tourist attractions, offering both daytime and nighttime shopping and entertainment options. It is ideal for those who enjoy a convenient lifestyle. Come and experience a change of scenery, relax, dine, and shop in the city for a night of rejuvenation.
Upon entering the hotel, one encounters an artistic white sculpture depicting a man named Jay, a woman named Daisy, and a small dog named Mali. This marks the beginning of a captivating and intriguing love story that unfolds before the reader's eyes. Jay, Daisy, and Mali are present throughout the hotel in various poses and moods, each location holding a unique narrative. They appear as welcoming hosts, guiding guests through every corner of the establishment.
The lobby's ambiance seamlessly blends Thai and Western aesthetics. The ceiling showcases intricate Thai silk patterns, creating a sense of fluidity and movement overhead. As one ventures further, they encounter James and Daisy in another pose, their hands clasped together.
As Daisy read the book, romance blossomed.
The design elements within the lobby are meticulously coordinated. The glossy round tables, each emblazoned with the full name of Bangkok, reflect the intricate Thai-patterned ceiling, creating a visually striking effect. The inscription on the tables reads: "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit."
The spiral staircase is a striking design element in the lobby, providing access to the dining room, conference room, seminar room, and Scalini, an Italian restaurant whose name translates to "spiral staircase."
On the same floor as the lobby, looking straight into the hotel, you will find Mondo, where Jay proposed to Daisy. We will see a large black diamond, a symbol of their love, at Mondo Restaurant. This will be the starting point for the story of their love at this hotel.
Mondo Restaurant at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea as the weather cools down and the festive season approaches. Located on the 1st floor of the Hilton Sukhumvit, this restaurant offers a tranquil atmosphere for guests to unwind and savor a delightful selection of teas and light bites.
Mondo Restaurant and Bar
The name "Mondo" translates to "my world," subtly hinting at the sweetness of Jay and Daisy's love story. The New York couple fell in love with Thailand and decided to make it their home. The restaurant's decor reflects their journey, with suitcases, oversized diamonds, and a wall mural depicting the New York City skyline at night, creating a cool backdrop for photos.
The Mando restaurant serves Mediterranean-American fusion cuisine. I appreciate the menu's passport-themed concept, which resembles a passport stamp collection, presenting a culinary journey through various countries.
Afternoon tea is a light meal typically served in the late afternoon, while high tea is a more substantial meal typically served in the early evening.
– Afternoon Tea emphasizes serving tea with light snacks such as scones, small sandwiches, and sweet treats.
High Tea: A Heartier Affair
High tea, unlike its lighter afternoon counterpart, originated as a more substantial meal. Served in the late afternoon or early evening, it effectively combined afternoon tea with dinner, offering a heavier selection of food.
Exquisite Afternoon Tea
This is a High Tea Buffet that I went to. It was part of the Fabulous Afternoon Tea campaign and had a wide selection of sweet treats available on the buffet line, as you can see in my photos. Chocolate fondue was also included in the price of 490 baht++ per person. The service was available from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Selection of Cold Cuts and Cheeses
Tagliatelle with Saffron Ragout (pasta with meat sauce)
A generous portion of fresh shrimp pad thai, perfect for sharing between two people.
The weather is perfect for sipping fragrant tea, especially during the Christmas and New Year season. "Mondo" is organizing a campaign for this occasion.
Festive Season: Joyous Afternoon Tea
Indulge in a delightful array of sweet treats, including Christmas Stollen, Christmas Panettone, cake sandwiches, fruit tarts, and macarons, for a net price of 790 per person, accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine. This offer is valid from November 28, 2016, to January 1, 2017.
Available every day, Monday - Sunday, from noon to 4:00 PM. After checking in, please follow us into the room. Come in and relax first.
The bed provides a comfortable sleep experience, guaranteed by the standards of the Hewton Hotel Group. Trust in the softness and comfort of the Hewton Group.
The room is equipped with an ironing board, iron, and an abundance of hangers.
The bathroom amenities at Hilton hotels continue to be provided by Peter Thomas Roth, a brand known for its relaxing and fragrant products.
The bathroom is sexy, with a glass wall and a bed. I like the layout of the bathroom, it's spacious and clearly separates the shower, dressing area, and toilet. The rain shower is also large and powerful. After soaking in the bathtub, you can easily wash yourself off with the rain shower without worrying about getting the floor wet. This area can get completely wet, and if you're not comfortable with an open shower, you can simply close the curtain.
In the evening, complimentary macarons were placed on the bed. When I went down for dinner, the staff provided turndown service.
Scalini, an Italian-American restaurant, evokes the atmosphere of the 1920s Prohibition era, when alcohol production and sales were banned in Italy. The design features a dark color scheme and resembles a shipping container, reminiscent of Italian immigrants seeking refuge in New York City. Even the music played at Scalini is carefully curated, with an old-fashioned sound and a slight distortion, creating the ambiance of a hidden speakeasy.
The overall ambiance is perfect for hosting a Gatsby-themed party. The walls are adorned with a wine cellar, creating an atmosphere of luxury and fine dining.
I had breakfast and dinner at Scalini, so this review will cover both meals. Now, let's start our dinner together.
Exquisite Culinary Delights
The dinner at Scalini restaurant features a fusion of traditional Italian and international flavors. For this review, I recommend trying the highlight menu, as suggested by the restaurant. While choosing the dishes, enjoy a pleasant conversation with complementary bread served on a wooden tray, accompanied by tomato salsa, black olive sauce, and garlic.
Appetizer: Heirloom tomatoes with Burrata cheese, roasted pecans, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar.
A simple salad of heirloom tomatoes, served with creamy Burrata cheese, toasted pecans, and a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Seafood soup (Tuscan-style with seafood, rosemary, and olive oil)
Spicy enough, well-balanced, and refreshing.
Lobster and crab chitarra pasta (Handcrafted chitarra pasta, Boston lobster, blue crab, tomato sauce)
Featuring succulent Phuket lobster with a delightful springy texture, the dish boasts fresh pasta made in-house using a unique guitar-shaped machine, aptly named Chitarra Pasta.
Main Course Sea Scallop (Slow poached Hokkaido scallops, avocado guacamole, organic tomatoes, cherry vinaigrette, fresh basil) This dish features the subtle aroma of herbs infused into the Hokkaido scallops, served with red radish and Heirloom Tomato, an Italian heirloom tomato variety.
The pepper shaker at Scalini is arguably the largest in Bangkok.
A must-try highlight is the Spaghetti Seafood, served in a pot and covered with pizza dough. The aroma wafts through the air as soon as it arrives, and as you slowly uncover it, the fragrance intensifies.
Baked snow fish fillet with white asparagus, Sicilian couscous, and black mussel sauce. A healthy menu option featuring snow fish.
Premium US New York Strip Loin Steaks
Grilled Australian lamb rack
Signature Sweet
The meal concludes with the Scalini restaurant's signature dessert: tiramisu.
After a satisfying dinner, I decided to take a stroll by the pool. The Hilton Sukhumvit's pool is renowned for its breathtaking views of Bangkok, ranking among the top rooftop pools in the city. As I lay on a poolside lounger, the gentle breeze almost lulled me to sleep. It was time to head back to my room.
Upon returning to my room, I took a shower and rested before bed. The soft bed beckoned me to lie down in its embrace, inviting me to sleep from the moment I checked in.
Breakfast
Good morning. I slept well last night. After taking a shower, I got ready to have breakfast. I was still full from last night's meal. I returned to Scalini again. I must say that the entire floor is decorated in the same theme. The black warehouse walls and old-fashioned lights.
The open kitchen layout is a unique feature of Scalini, allowing diners to observe the chefs diligently preparing their meals.
A moderate breakfast buffet with a variety of options. While the selection is not extensive, it covers all the essentials. If you've read
The breakfast buffet at the DoubleTree by Hilton, which I previously reviewed, is similar to the one at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok.
This month's special features mangosteen served as a cake, mangosteen juice, and fresh mangosteen fruit, making it a standout dish.

Juicy and refreshing, fruit juice and yogurt are stored in the refrigerator.
Line Salad
Various types of bread and bakery products
Japanese and Korean food line, rice balls, kimchi
Noodles are also available for those who want to enjoy a hot meal in the morning.
This sizzling dish is served in a heavy red cast iron pot with a substantial lid. Inside, you'll find a medley of sausages and bacon, all kept warm and inviting.
Rice porridge and side dishes
Eggs in all forms, order here.
Fruit
Soy milk and deep-fried dough sticks
Bread
After a satisfying breakfast, I took the opportunity to walk around for a bit to aid digestion before going back to sleep. I returned to the pool area for a stroll, which I enjoyed due to the high vantage point and the cool breeze. On the same floor, there was also a fitness center with trainers available to assist.
As a final note, there is an unspoken rule for everyone who swims here: to simply stand at the edge of the pool and gaze at the breathtaking view of Bangkok that lies before them.
I hope everyone enjoyed this review of the Hilton Sukhumvit. As of recently, the hotel has been awarded the prestigious
Awarded "Luxury Hotel Brand" at the regional level by the World Luxury Hotel Awards in 2016.
Let's try something new and exciting.
