Greetings! During my recent trip to Japan, I embarked on a culinary adventure, indulging in a variety of delectable meat dishes. The experience was quite expensive, leaving my wallet feeling significantly lighter. The allure of Japanese cuisine proved irresistible, leading me to splurge on numerous meals across various restaurants. However, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of dissatisfaction at being the sole financial victim of my gastronomic escapades. In an effort to share the burden, I've compiled a comprehensive review of the establishments I visited, hoping to inspire fellow travelers to follow in my footsteps and experience the same level of culinary extravagance.

The restaurants reviewed here are based on my personal experiences. Some restaurants I visited were not included because I did not find them to be particularly delicious. For example, Gyukaku, which I tried during my recent trip to Japan, was just average. I felt that for the price, it should have been more flavorful than the typical steak restaurants in Thailand, such as Momo or Miyabi. So, hold on to your wallets and scroll down to read more!

Note: I will rank the restaurants based on my personal preference and overall impression. This impression is not solely based on the taste of the meat, but rather on a combination of three factors: meat quality, service, and price.

Apologies for the blurry images. Most were taken with a mobile phone due to the enticing aroma and hunger pangs. This may have resulted in some camera shake.

1. One-Karubi plus + Kitaikoma, Nara City, Coordinates: 34.725471, 135.720434

Starting from One-Karubi plus + Kitaikoma restaurant

This restaurant left the deepest impression on me during my trip to Japan. The staff, in particular, were exceptional. When I ordered my food, they practically knelt down to take my order. It was truly heartwarming. Most of the staff seemed to be university students from nearby colleges. I first visited this restaurant with my younger brother's friend, and I've been impressed ever since. If you ever have the chance to visit Nara, be sure to stop by this restaurant. It's delicious.

During my first trip, I relied heavily on maps for navigation, having done extensive research and preparation. However, on my second visit, I brought a SAMURAI WiFi device, which eliminated any issues with searching for information while in Japan. As long as I knew the coordinates or the name of a place, Google Maps could reliably guide me there.

If you are interested in SAMURAI WiFi, you can find more information here: http://www.bs-mobile.jp/th/

My journey began in Nara, where I visited the Todai-Ji Temple and savored a delicious dinner of local beef before returning to Osaka.

Take the train from Kintetsu-Nara Station and transfer at Ikoma Station.

Take the train to Gakken-Kita-Ikoma Station. Exit to the right and you will see a gas station.

The restaurant's name is One-Karubi plus + Kitaikoma. It offers both yakiniku (grilled meat) and shabu-shabu (hotpot). I have only tried the yakiniku. Let's take a look at the menu.

The buffet is priced at 3380 yen per person, excluding drinks.

The highlight of this page is the steak on the left. It's grilled to perfection and incredibly tender and flavorful. Another must-try is the egg-dipped meat on the right, which is incredibly sweet and delicious.

Followed by menus on other pages.

Each person can order one dessert to enjoy after their meal.

The first dish has arrived, and it's a showstopper. The meat is cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with just the right amount of marbling. It's also incredibly flavorful, with a hint of sweetness.

Grilled marinated meat, dip it in egg before grilling. It's sweet and fragrant.

This dish is delicious. It has a sweet flavor.

The sizzling and grilling stopped abruptly as time ran out. For dessert, I opted for a tangy sorbet to cleanse my palate after the meat, while my companion chose pudding.

The first restaurant is my favorite. As I mentioned, the meat may not be the best of this review, but considering the price and quantity, it is the most worthwhile. I even felt like I got a good deal. If you go to Nara, don't forget to stop by. 2. Rokkasen Yakiniku, Tokyo City Coordinates 35.693366, 139.698990

Let's move on to the second restaurant. This one is a bit pricey, so be prepared to spend some money. However, I must say that the meat quality here is the best among all the restaurants I've tried this time around. The name of the restaurant is Rokkasen Yakiniku. I was already hungry while doing my homework, searching for interesting places to eat in Tokyo. So, there was no way I was going to miss this one.

It is highly recommended to make a reservation at Rokkasen Yakiniku, especially if you are planning to indulge in the buffet. Reservations are essential to avoid disappointment, as the restaurant tends to be fully booked, particularly during evening hours. If you are feeling adventurous and prefer to take your chances without a reservation, consider visiting during weekdays around lunchtime. While walk-ins are possible during this time, be prepared for a potential wait.

I live near Asakusa. Take the train from Kuramae Station to Shinjukunishiguchi Station, which takes 20-30 minutes. Then walk to the opposite side of the street and you will see a building on the corner called SHINJUKU SUN FLOWER. Take the elevator to the 6th floor. The restaurant will be right in front of you when you get off the elevator.

Upon arrival, please register first. Then, wait to be called according to your queue number.

Please sign in first, otherwise you won't be able to eat.

Let's take a look at the restaurant's menu.

I would have preferred a buffet, but I had other travel plans and hadn't made a reservation, so I didn't want to waste too much time. However, since I was already there, I decided to order the restaurant's best dish, the Matsuzaka sirloin. It was stunning, with beautiful marbling and a perfect amount of fat. It cost 9,720 yen. I also ordered another dish, the Matsuzaka high-quality short ribs, for 3,780 yen. I would have liked to order more, but the prices were a bit steep, so I decided to stop there. Let's take a look at the pictures and drool.

First, serve the vegetables.

Then, with a loud sizzle, the Matsuzaka sirloin...

Zoom in to see its beautiful insertion. Haha.

This is another person's Matsuzaka spencer roll that I had with them. It was chewier than the sirloin, but then again, it's less marbled so it would be strange if it were as tender.

The photo was taken and then I ate it. I was so hungry... the meat really tempted my stomach.

We shared a plate of Matsuzaka high-quality short ribs, which were so delicious that we wanted to order another serving.

Finally, you can choose a glass of water before paying and going home.

Oh my god.....so delicious....just a lick and it breaks apart.....so soft.....am I exaggerating? Haha

In terms of taste, it did not disappoint. Based on the reviews I read from others, it was the most delicious of all the restaurants I visited this time. The price, however, was also high. This restaurant would be my second favorite, which is not surprising. 3. MIDORIYA Restaurant, Tokyo Coordinates: 35.663676, 139.746208

This yakiniku restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in Japan. It wasn't originally on our itinerary, but they insisted it was delicious, so we decided to give it a try.

Take the subway to Kamiyacho Station. Once you exit the station, you will see a Family Mart on your left. Turn left and walk a short distance until you see an alleyway on your left. Enter the alleyway.

The shop is located 100 meters from the mouth of the alley. It is located underground.

Come down to the shop.

Having found a seat, let's take a look at the menu. As I mentioned earlier, I can't read Japanese, so I'll have to rely on looking at the pictures and pointing.

I highly recommend ordering these two meat dishes. They are both delicious and tender.

The beautifully marbled meat arrived at our table shortly after we placed our order.

The meat may not be as tender and flavorful as Rokkasen Yakiniku, but it is still delicious and worth the price. Ordering individual dishes is not too expensive. If you are willing to pay for good quality meat in Japan, I think this restaurant is a bargain. We ate 5 people and were stuffed. Let's take a look at the price.

Sharing the bill, it comes out to a little over 5,000 yen per person. For this price, it's definitely worth it. If you're in Tokyo and your budget doesn't allow for Rokkasen Yakiniku, I recommend trying this restaurant instead. 4. Washoku Sato in Kyoto (coordinates: 34.980001, 135.761352)

Instead of grilled meat, let's try a boiled dish. I passed by this restaurant after returning from my trip, so I stopped by to eat. The uncle who manages the hotel recommended it, saying it was cheap and... delicious. I'll go in and have a bite.

The restaurant is located approximately 1 km from Kyoto Station. If you are not keen on walking, you can take a train to Kujo Station and walk a short distance to reach the restaurant.

We have arrived at the store.

This is the menu that convinced me to dine here. I opted for the buffet option, which costs 2490 yen.

The restaurant is crowded. Please wait for a while.

This restaurant uses a touch-screen ordering system located on each table. While the interface is solely in Japanese, fear not! The menu features images of each dish, making the ordering process intuitive. Although the initial experience may be slightly confusing, you'll quickly adapt and master the system.

Upon placing your order, you will receive an initial set of dishes. It is recommended to wait for these to be served before ordering additional items, to avoid over-ordering.

Now that I understand how to order, I can order like I'm starving! Haha, my eyes are blurry from studying how to order food. I'm so hungry right now!

The meat here is ordinary, but when boiled with the restaurant's broth, it becomes another kind of delicious. The restaurant offers a variety of broths to choose from. We had the black broth and the clear broth, which should be miso broth. Oh, the pork is also good, it's delicious.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of menu items. The sushi is decent, but not exceptional. It is recommended to try the seaweed-wrapped rice, which is delicious but should be consumed in moderation to avoid feeling full.

To conclude the meal, each person enjoyed a different dessert.

5. A delicious grilled beef with cheese rice restaurant in Osaka. Coordinates: 34.662891, 135.506221

This is the last restaurant I visited. I couldn't read the name of the restaurant, so I'll call it "Delicious Cheese Grilled Beef Rice Restaurant." Unlike the first four restaurants, this one doesn't specialize in beef. Therefore, I've designated it as "+1," indicating that it's another must-try establishment.

At the end of last year, when I came to Japan, I ate out three times a day. I can only say that it was delicious. Eating once was not enough.

A delectable grilled beef with cheese rice restaurant, recommended by a Thai person in Japan (again!). It's safe to assume that the taste has been verified to suit the palates of Thai people like us. So, without further ado, let's check out the location!

This restaurant is actually not far from the Glico Man sign in Osaka. If you walk from the sign, it's about 1 kilometer away.

Alternatively, for those who prefer a more convenient option, the restaurant is conveniently located a mere 450 meters from Nipponbashi station. Simply take the train and walk straight to reach your destination.

The store is located on the corner of the intersection, with a bright orange color that is easily visible from afar. It is hard to miss.

Head to the food vending machine located in front of the shop. Insert money first, then select the menu you want to eat.

Once you have made your selection, you will receive a card that looks like this. Show it to the staff at the restaurant and then take a seat at your table. Your food will be served shortly.

Here it is, my meal: grilled meat...drizzled with lots of delicious cheese. It smells amazing, and most importantly, they gave me a huge portion of meat!

That's it for the 4 restaurants +1. Oh my, I'm so hungry... My stomach is growling so loudly after writing this review. Haha. How about you? Can you smell the food from the pictures? If you're in the area and have time, try them out!
