The Khwang Phra Chao Lanna is located at the entrance of the Huai Teng Thao Reservoir in Mae Rim District. This "Lanna Buddhist Park" or Khwang Phra Chao Lanna held its groundbreaking ceremony on February 7, 2008. Led by Warin Buawiratnlerd, a devoted disciple of Luang Pu Khao Gevalan from the Himalayas, the project brought together Buddhist devotees from around the world. The 30-rai plot of land provided by the Royal Thai Army at the entrance of the Huai Teng Thao Reservoir in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, was transformed into a significant religious site. The architecture and design of the buildings follow the Lanna style, emphasizing harmony with local culture while incorporating modern elements. The buildings within the Lanna Buddhist Park are therefore a modern adaptation of the Lanna style, creating a living museum-like religious space. The park was built to commemorate the 84th birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and to bring peace and happiness to the city. It is truly a beautiful place.

The Phra That Doi Suthep: A Majestic Landmark of Chiang Mai

The Phra That Doi Suthep, a magnificent golden pagoda, stands as a revered landmark in Chiang Mai. This iconic structure, built in the traditional Lanna style, boasts intricate stucco decorations and four arched entrances adorned with statues representing the days of the week. The pagoda enshrines twenty Buddha statues, each representing a different day of birth, and houses a sacred relic of the Buddha, gifted by Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Somdet Kiew) of Wat Saket in Bangkok.

The "Million Lanna Buddha," a golden brass Buddha statue in the Mara posture, is housed within a Lanna-style archway. It is situated on a raised platform, serving as the presiding Buddha of this precinct. The artistic style of the Buddha closely resembles the Lanna Buddha style.

The Sala Bat houses nine Buddha statues, each representing a day of the week.

The entrance to the Anothai pond is adorned with a pair of naga statues, guiding visitors to the Dharma hall. These mythical serpents symbolize protection of Buddhism and their emergence from the water signifies their attentiveness to the Buddha's teachings.
