Let's go on a road trip this rainy season. No matter if it's hot, rainy, or cold, we can travel in any season!

This trip, we're driving to Phuket. As you know, taxi and car rental fees in Phuket are very expensive.

So, whenever we want to go somewhere, we have to think twice to get the most value for our money.

But for this trip, we chose to rent a car with Thai Rent A Car.

A standard car rental company with branches all over Thailand at airports and offers various promotions. We have to keep an eye on this. The advantage of renting a car is that we can stop anywhere, for as long as we want.

Convenient and fast, both in booking and picking up the rental car.

It also makes our journey smooth and allows us to calculate the time for picking up and returning the car.

Especially now, Thai Rent A Car has a lot of promotions.

For example, the "Normal Day Price, Worth a Visit" promotion and the "Love Thai People, Return 499" promotion.

What's so great about it? Let's take a look.

Most of the cars on promotion now are small cars, SS size, which are also economical models.

For traveling with 2-4 people, this is very convenient for us.

There are many other car models to choose from, and the rental prices vary depending on the car size.

When booking online, you will receive a booking confirmation email. Please bring the booking number to the Thai Rent A Car booth at the airport.

This time, we picked up the car at Phuket Airport. After getting off the plane, we walked around looking for the shop. During this period, Phuket Airport is undergoing renovations in many areas, so the shops have been temporarily moved outside the building.

We filled out some paperwork. The documents required to pick up the car are your driver's license and credit card, which will be used to deduct the car rental insurance deposit. Our car size is S, and the deposit is 10,000 baht.

The deposit will be released when the car is returned. Then, the staff will take you to the Thai Rent A Car rental parking lot. Please check the car for any scratches before picking it up. The car is full of gas, so you can drive away!

Upon entering the car, we were pleasantly surprised to find two complimentary bottles of water provided by Thai Rent A Car. These conveniently sized bottles were perfect for quenching our thirst in case we got lost (just kidding!).

Since we hadn't yet found a 7-Eleven, these bottles came in handy for staying hydrated during our drive.

Our destination was a hotel near Kata Beach. After picking up the car at the airport, we decided to avoid driving through the city center and instead opted for a scenic route along Phuket's various beaches.

We marked various beaches on our map as potential stops, and we're excited to share our journey with you!

Our journey begins at Phuket Airport, traversing the scenic coastal roads towards Mai Khao Beach, Nai Thon Beach, Kamala Beach, Kalim Beach, Patong Beach, Karon Beach, and culminating at Kata Beach.

Bypassing the bustling city center, we strategically avoid congested routes, ensuring a smooth and leisurely drive. The coastal roads of Phuket offer a tranquil escape, devoid of traffic, allowing for a truly relaxing experience.

Mai Khao Beach: A New Landmark with Stunning Airplane Views

Mai Khao Beach has recently gained popularity as a new landmark offering unique perspectives of airplanes taking off and landing. Its proximity to the airport and the high waves during this period make it an ideal spot for capturing these breathtaking moments.

While aiming to capture the iconic airplane shots, we encountered difficulty finding the entrance. We ended up driving into a resort and were politely directed to Mai Khao Soi 6. After parking our car, we walked towards the point closest to the airport.

Although we managed to reach the popular viewpoint, we also attempted to access the beach from another direction, which led us to the airport fence. However, a body of water prevented us from reaching the shore, forcing us to retreat.

In conclusion, we reached Mai Khao Beach, but not close enough to see airplanes taking off or landing. Haha.

The atmosphere of Mai Khao Beach is shady, with many trees and few tourists at this time.

We saw tourists relaxing and fishing in a good mood.

Nai Thon Beach in Phuket is a hidden gem with fewer tourists compared to other beaches.

The wide sandy beach is perfect for swimming and relaxing under the shade of trees.

It's also a great spot for taking photos or filming music videos.

Located within the Sirinath National Park, Nai Thon boasts fine white sand and scattered pine trees.

It's a peaceful corner of Phuket, offering a tranquil escape.

Highlights:

- Serene atmosphere

- Fine white sand

- Small to medium-sized hotels across the beach

- Beach umbrellas available for rent

- Shopping options, tour packages, and small restaurants

Drawbacks:

- Relatively long distance from the main road

Getting there:

To reach Nai Thon Beach from Phuket Town, start at the Thao Thepkasattri and Thao Sri Sunthon Monument. Follow the main road towards the airport. At the junction leading to the airport, turn left and continue for about 1 kilometer (the entrance to Nai Yang Beach is also on this left turn, approximately 100 meters on the left). You will find the entrance to Nai Thon Beach on the left. Once inside the lane, turn left again after about 3 kilometers, and you will reach Nai Thon Beach along the beachfront road.

We continued driving along a winding road, this time without stopping at the beach. Instead, we checked in at a coconut tree near the beach. 555

Kamala Beach, Phuket

Kamala Beach is a tranquil stretch of coastline located south of Surin Beach. Its sand is slightly coarser than other beaches, but its 2-kilometer length offers ample space for relaxation. Above the beach, visitors will find a variety of accommodations, shops, and restaurants catering to their needs.

Kamala Beach is accessible from both directions on the main road. Coming from Patong Beach via Kalim Beach, follow the main road until you reach Kamala. Alternatively, starting from the Thao Thep Kasattri and Thao Sri Sunthon Monument, follow the main road south past Surin Beach. Located approximately 1 kilometer south of Laem Singh, Kamala Beach is considered a northern beach in Phuket. It is accessible by car and motorbike.

Kata Beach: A Tranquil Escape in Phuket

Kata Beach, a secluded gem nestled north of Patong Beach, offers a serene escape from the bustling crowds. Unlike the long stretches of sand found elsewhere, Kata Beach is characterized by a unique combination of sandy coves and rocky outcrops, creating a picturesque and intimate setting.

While the beach itself may not be as expansive as others, the crystal-clear waters and fine-grained sand provide a delightful experience for those seeking tranquility. The rocky sections further enhance the charm of the beach, offering opportunities for exploration and snorkeling amidst the vibrant coral reefs.

Despite its secluded nature, Kata Beach boasts a vibrant culinary scene, particularly in the late afternoon hours. A plethora of vendors set up shop along the shore, offering a diverse array of local delicacies. From freshly grilled seafood and aromatic curries to traditional Thai desserts, there's something to satisfy every palate.

For those seeking a casual dining experience, Kata Beach presents an ideal option. The abundance of street food stalls and small restaurants provides a wide selection of affordable and flavorful dishes. Whether you crave a simple stir-fry, a skewer of grilled chicken, or a plate of crispy roti, Kata Beach has something to tantalize your taste buds.

So, if you're looking for a tranquil beach escape with a touch of culinary adventure, Kata Beach is the perfect destination. With its serene atmosphere, stunning scenery, and delectable food options, it promises an unforgettable experience.

Patong Beach, Phuket: A Bustling Tourist Destination

We drove past Patong Beach in Phuket without stopping due to the light rain. As we passed by, I couldn't help but think, "Is this Pattaya?" The resemblance was uncanny.

Patong Beach is the most famous beach on the island of Phuket and a popular tourist destination year-round. It boasts a wide range of amenities for visitors, including accommodations, restaurants, tour operators, shops, and nightlife, making it a 24-hour tourist hub. It's essentially a mini-Pattaya.

Highlights:

  • Renowned beach known to both Thai and international tourists.
  • Fine white sand.
  • Numerous shopping options, restaurants, tour packages, and spas, ranging from small to large establishments.
  • A wide variety of hotels, from small to large, catering to diverse needs.
  • Diverse beach activities for all interests.
  • Easy access to Paradise Beach, Phuket, due to its close proximity.
  • Vibrant nightlife scene with options for all tastes.
  • Convenient transportation with numerous taxi and tourist pick-up points.

Drawbacks:

  • Limited parking despite the large number of spaces available.
  • Crowded during peak seasons.

Getting There:

Patong Beach is accessible from three main routes. From Phuket Town, starting at "Surakul Stadium," it takes approximately 25 minutes. Alternatively, from Karon Beach, it takes about 20 minutes. Finally, from Kamala Beach, it also takes around 20 minutes. All three routes are accessible by car and motorbike.

The sentence is already in English and does not require translation.

Karon Beach was the closest beach to our accommodation during our two nights in Phuket. It was also the beach where we spent the most time, and we experienced firsthand the strong waves and winds, especially during the current rainy season. Red flags were posted at intervals as a warning.

One noticeable change during this visit to Phuket was the significant reduction in beachside tents. This is due to a major beach cleanup initiative implemented in Phuket a few years ago. This is a positive development, as beaches are public spaces that should be accessible to everyone.

Everyone has the right to relax, sunbathe, and stroll along these beautiful beaches.

Let's head to the beach whenever we're ready!

Thank you for watching.
