Homestay has become a trend for a while now, but we just had the chance to experience it ourselves. We never miss out on good opportunities like this, following our slogan: "Wherever there is nature, there we shall be!" Haha. We went on this trip back in April. We didn't want to keep the photos to ourselves for too long, so we're sharing the atmosphere with friends who like things that are raw and enjoy staying in homestays surrounded by nature. We hope to inspire you to experience it for yourselves.

"Jeo Chee Wa," a short but pleasant-sounding name, is a homestay in Mae Mae Village, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. Nestled amidst the mountains with a waterfall flowing through, it is accessible via a winding, narrow road of almost 10 km from the main road. Despite the challenging route, our eagerness made the obstacles seem insignificant.

Finding a homestay is not difficult. Just follow the route as shown in the picture. The road is mostly narrow, and it is important to honk your horn when approaching a curve, as this is a local rule. If you see a treehouse (another popular homestay), it means you have arrived at "Cher Cheeva". The accommodation is located just below the treehouse, 20 meters away. Since the homestays at Mae Mae's house are clustered together, they are easy to find.

This sign indicates that you have arrived at your accommodation.

Let me give you a brief overview of the accommodation. The homestay is a single-family house with only 3 rooms. The largest room is the attic (3rd floor), which can accommodate 6-8 people. This room will be ours tonight. The cost is 2,000 baht/night (for 4 people) and 400 baht/person for extra beds. If you also want dinner, it will cost 150 baht per person. The other 2 rooms are priced at 1,500 baht/night and can accommodate 2 people each. All prices include breakfast.

Upon arriving at our room, we were greeted by a four-legged staff member who also served as our personal security guard for most of the night. Haha!

Nestled amidst the serene embrace of nature, the homestay boasts a tranquil ambiance enhanced by the gentle murmur of a nearby waterfall, its cascading waters flowing perennially. The secluded setting and the symphony of nature's melodies create an idyllic retreat, inviting guests to immerse themselves in a sanctuary of tranquility.

Even the dog is enjoying it, look at her face! How can we not enjoy it too? ;)

We arrived here in the late afternoon without any food or snacks. We had to pay for dinner and then wait to try the chef's skills.

Not only are we waiting, but our furry friend is also waiting, just as hungry as we are. Haha!

The sounds of the kitchen indicate that the preparation of our dinner is underway. There is a slight excitement in the air as we anticipate enjoying our meal amidst the forest and the river, a moment that has been absent from our lives for quite some time.

The most striking corner of the kitchen is this picture. It suddenly reminds me of my father. T-T

After nearly half an hour, the enticing aroma began to waft, teasing our nostrils. We eagerly awaited the unveiling of our meal, as the dishes prepared each day are unique. Finally, the food arrived, presented before us. The sight was simply mouthwatering! From the vibrant chili paste to the steamed fish and chicken soup, it was a feast for the eyes. Needless to say, these were all our favorites. Unable to resist our hunger any longer, we devoured the meal with gusto.

Let me remind you that the meal will consist of four dishes, priced at 150 baht per person. Considering the taste of the food and the ambiance, we believe it is worthwhile. The food is truly delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect for a leisurely meal.

After a satisfying meal, it was time to retire to our rooms for some rest. With no television to entertain us, we were left with nothing to do but gaze at each other in an attempt to fall asleep. (If you plan to visit this location, be sure to bring mosquito repellent, as the evenings tend to be rife with these pesky insects. However, their numbers dwindle as the night deepens.) Soon, we drifted off to sleep, accompanied by the gentle sound of the flowing water below, which continued throughout the night.

Good morning, with a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius. It's a bit chilly, even though we're in the hot season. Waking up to the fresh air and waiting for breakfast, wondering what the menu will be today.

While waiting for breakfast, I heard that there is drip coffee available for us to try. As a coffee lover, there's no way I would miss it.

As I waited for my drip coffee, it dawned on me: "Do I really have to leave today?" I felt rooted to the spot, reluctant to depart. I hadn't fully absorbed the atmosphere here, and I longed to stay for another 3 or 4 days. However, it was impossible, as other trip commitments awaited me.

Breakfast is served! It's rice porridge, a simple yet delicious dish. Enjoying hot rice porridge with side dishes is the ultimate pleasure. Trust me, it's not an exaggeration.

After breakfast, it was time to explore and immerse ourselves in nature before returning to the pollution of city life. The day we chose to visit was very short due to our craziness, which made us drive from Bangkok to here. Haha, I don't know, but I feel like nature has a gravitational pull. Even if we only have one day, if we are subject to the law of that gravitational pull, it is difficult to refuse to come.
