This month, we took a road trip to Khao Kho and Phu Thap Boek to witness the breathtaking sea of mist.

We have been wanting to go for a long time, but we haven't planned a trip yet.

This long weekend, I decided to treat myself to a two-night staycation.

Two more people and one more car have joined us, making a total of four people and one car. This is just the right number for our group.

The period of our visit was from July 8th to 10th, 2017, which was a three-day holiday.

This trip is special because I have a new toy, our little #DjiSpark drone.

Check out the VDO on our page. Here's the link.

Enjoy the aerial view from Khao Kho-Phu Thap Boek.

The rough plan is to camp at Khao Kho Post Office on the first night. We can rent tents there.

After that, I wandered around the area, visiting places like Pha Sorn Kaew and relaxing at cafes.

On the second night, we moved to Phutubberg and spent the day enjoying the scenery and exploring the cabbage fields.

Our accommodation has been booked in advance. It is a house with 1 bedroom and 2 beds at Phusaimai.

Enjoy a rooftop barbecue with stunning views.

We plan to leave at midnight so that we can arrive early in the morning.

My friend and I took turns driving, resting when we were tired.

We arrived at Khao Kho at 6 am sharp.

Following Google Maps to the Khao Kho Post Office, we stopped to admire the view.

The fog wasn't too thick, just enough to enjoy. However, at six o'clock, the post office was still closed.

Following the reviews, we decided to visit the Takhian Ngo viewpoint for another scenic view.

After a 25-minute drive, we arrived at Khao Takhian Ngo, a small hilltop offering a different perspective of the Khao Kho mountains.

We were able to enjoy the view and the cool air, which was a pleasant experience. However, it was a pity that there was no sea of fog as we had hoped.

After that, they traveled back to the post office to rent a tent to sleep in for the night.

Upon arrival at 8:00 AM, postal staff were already present.

The campsite is full. I found information that said first come, first served.

However, we were unaware that advance reservations were required, which came as a surprise to us.

Before heading out to find a place to sleep tonight, we decided to grab some breakfast. We noticed a porridge shop located below the post office.

We indulged in a delicious feast, savoring a variety of dishes including congee, fish porridge, and grilled pork.

After finishing our meal, we continued searching for a place to sleep. We drove around the area and eventually came across #SkyBlueFogBeautifulResort. My partner and I already had our own tents, but our two friends needed to rent some.

In summary, we camped here for 100 baht per tent and 100 baht per person for tent rental, totaling 200 baht.

The accommodation cost 300 baht for the night (it included breakfast, but we didn't take it).

Accommodation secured, time to roam free. First stop, food again, haha!

We had lunch at #Borannimom, a small restaurant.

Although it is ranked highly on #Wongnai, we decided to give it a try.

Following their recommendations, we ordered and enjoyed a delicious meal.

After a savory meal, it's time to relax at the #Pigney bar.

The coffee is delicious, the scenery is beautiful, and you can see the mountains up close. You can also worship at the Pha Sorn Kaew Temple at the back. Haha!

We saw wind turbines all the way here.

Curious about the wind turbines I saw on Google, I opened up Maps and headed straight there.

On our way out of Wat Pha Sorn Kaew, we came across this scene and decided to stop and take some photos.

After taking photos, we continued to the vast Tung Kanhan field, located in the distance with a view of the mountains. It was a pleasant sight.

This location offers a variety of activities, including riding a "formula mhong" (a type of go-kart), swinging on a swing, and taking photos in beautiful settings.

As the sun sets, it's time for another meal. We turned to #Wongnai again and found the Krua Khao Kho restaurant.

We are back at our accommodation after a satisfying meal. The place is incredibly peaceful and deserted. We are the only ones here.

The cool night air brought a sense of relaxation, and after taking showers, everyone drifted off to sleep, exhausted from the day's activities.

The morning has arrived, yet I remain in bed, reluctant to wake. The cool, comfortable air tempts me to linger in slumber.

In the morning, we went up to the building to enjoy the view for a bit, and then we went to eat breakfast at the same restaurant as yesterday.

However, today the place is packed with people. The tent near the post office is also overflowing.

It's a good thing you decided to stay at the resort, otherwise it would have been chaotic.

In the end, we enjoyed a satisfying meal of congee, pla thong ko, and grilled pork.

We left Khao Kho to go to Phu Thap Boek.

Before leaving, we stopped by #pinoLatte, as we didn't have the chance to go up yesterday.

Millions of people. The shop is full. The photo spots are full. The parking lot is full.

We stopped by for a bit, then escaped the crowd and took refuge in #Pigney again. Haha!

We continued our journey to Phu Thap Boek.

The route was as scenic as the story, with fog, steep climbs, and curves, offering a complete experience.

We arrived at the accommodation before check-in time, so we decided to visit the Stone Button Field first.

The route to Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park branches off from the road leading to Phu Thap Boek.

After paying the toll, continue driving.

After a long drive, we finally arrived. We parked the car and got out to see what the place was like.

We followed the path for approximately 2 kilometers, encountering various shaped rocks along the way.

As we continue walking, we start to encounter uneven rocks, indicating that we are approaching the photo spot soon.

And then we arrived at the Button Rock field. It was really crowded.

We then continued walking to Pha Chuthan.

After finishing, I walked back. It took about 2 hours and 55 minutes. I can't believe it. I guess I stopped by here and there too often.

It's time to check in to our accommodation for the night. Our accommodation tonight is #BeautifulMountainMist.

A cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house with a rooftop terrace, available for 1500 baht per night.

After checking in and unpacking, we went out for lunch at Suwit Farm.

Heard that the Yunnan pork leg was a must-try, so I ordered a large one.

We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was truly delicious. We almost couldn't finish it all, haha!

After finishing my meal, I'm going to take a nap for an hour. ZZzzz..

Waking up, we continued to watch the view at #Rimpha Farm, which is said to have a breathtaking 360-degree panorama.

The view was truly breathtaking, even though it wasn't a full 360-degree panorama. It was still incredibly beautiful.

With the full moon day, we were able to see the full moon rising through the fog.

Night has fallen, and we're heading back to our accommodation. Time for some #BBQ!

Our accommodation has a rooftop where you can relax and enjoy the breeze.

Without hesitation, we ordered a large set of barbecue pork with unlimited vegetables.

They ate with gusto, ordering endless rounds of vegetables until they were completely full.

We originally planned to sit and enjoy the breeze and the view from above.

However, in the end, it was unbearable. It was freezing cold and the wind was very strong. We had to retreat back to our bedroom.

I slept in a comfortable bed tonight, but there was a storm. The wind was so strong that I thought the house would collapse.

The morning air was a stark contrast to yesterday's, with a refreshing dampness permeating the atmosphere.

We visited #RaimPha again. This time, after the rain, the fog was amazing.

Indeed, the fog condensed in front of us, descending low enough to reveal a sea of mist, just as we had hoped.

From afar, we spotted what appeared to be a stupa, so we decided to investigate further.

The #Phu Thap Boek Forest Monastery is a very peaceful place.

The construction of the main stupa is still ongoing. We went inside the booth to pay our respects to the monks.

After paying respects at the temple, I returned to pack my belongings and head back to Bangkok. Oh, and by the way, breakfast is included at the accommodation. It's rice porridge with coffee.

Before leaving, let's have one more thing. When visiting Phu Thap Boek, you must try the cabbage.

And more.

We departed from Phu Thap Boek around 10 am and arrived in Bangkok around 7 pm.

The trip was primarily focused on eating, with scenic mountain views as a secondary attraction.

This driving trip is a bit challenging. If you plan to drive yourself, make sure you are a confident driver.

Due to the winding roads and dense fog,
