How to travel to Koh Chang for 3 days and 2 nights with a budget under 2,000 baht?
Including accommodation and diving costs, the answer is here!!!
Let's get started! For this trip to Koh Chang, my friends and I did some research on how to make the most of our visit. We stumbled upon an advertisement from Mr.Khaitour (https://www.facebook.com/mr.khaitour1/) offering a 3-day, 2-night package with a 3-island diving trip, including meals on the boat, for only 1,550 baht per person. The package also included beachfront accommodation at Bailan Bay Resort. We inquired about the diving trip and learned that it wasn't just a 2-3 hour excursion, but a full-day diving adventure! This incredible value made the decision easy.
After finishing our final exams, we immediately drove from Bangna to Koh Chang. The drive to the Ao Thammachat pier took approximately 3.5 hours without traffic. We recommend using the Ao Thammachat pier as it is closer and more convenient. The cost to transport a car across is 120 baht per car, and 80 baht per passenger. We were then ready to begin our adventure!
Upon arrival at Koh Chang, turn right after exiting the pier. Drive along the road for a while, it's quite a distance. We will pass various beaches along the way. The road may not be suitable for novice drivers as it is very narrow and only allows for one car to pass at a time. Follow the road up and down the hills, it's easy to notice. As you approach, you will encounter the infamous "S-curve".
Before heading up, allow all vehicles from below to ascend first, as the curve requires a bit of maneuvering space. Next, you'll pass another beach, Khai Bae Beach, which boasts an abundance of food options, including a tempting seafood barbecue restaurant. Continue driving, and ascend another hill. Keep an eye out for our resort on the right-hand side, marked by a large, clear sign that reads "Bailan Bay Resort." You've arrived at your destination.
Our accommodation is right by the sea, which is great value for money. There is a restaurant on site so you don't have to go far. The prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. The view is amazing, especially before sunset.
This is our accommodation, which is incredibly natural. I can tell you that the night air is fantastic. There is a barbecue grill available here, but you must bring your own fresh ingredients. There is also a pavilion by the sea where you can have a small party. I'll stop talking now before you think I'm exaggerating. We've also made a short, roughly 2-minute video to show you how amazing the atmosphere here is. Let's watch it!
The next day, we went diving. In the morning, a car picked us up and took us to the pier. We went diving and fishing, and we even got to eat the fish we caught. It was an amazing experience.
Sitting at the back of the boat, sunbathing, and listening to music with a small speaker. It was a great experience. It took quite a while to get from the pier to the first diving spot. The water was crystal clear, and there were tons of sea urchins. This spot was just a warm-up for the main event, which was at the end.
We then went to another spot, which was on the other side of the island. This was the second amazing spot, and the third one was even better. The water was crystal clear, cool, and we could see fish and crabs. It was fantastic.
Despite our repeated failures, our skilled captain continues to reel in fish effortlessly. What secret does he possess?

Another day of our diving trip to Koh Chang has come to an end. It was definitely worth it! In the evening, we went to the seafood restaurant we mentioned before. It was an all-you-can-eat buffet, and we ate so much that we were completely stuffed. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we didn't realize how deserted the road back was until it was dark. There were no streetlights, so we had to rely solely on our car's headlights. Remember to drive slowly on this road, and you'll reach your accommodation safely. In conclusion, this trip was a resounding success!
