Office workers, who only have a few days off a year, are often excited when they encounter a three-day weekend and start planning their trips. However, they are slow to gather their group, and with only two days left before their trip, they are just starting to look for places to visit.

This time, we planned a big trip to Pilok, E-tong Village, and Chok Kradin Waterfall without checking the weather conditions. It was the rainy season, and it rained heavily every day. Driving up the winding mountain roads was quite difficult, and even when we arrived, it rained constantly. The only silver lining was that we couldn't find any accommodation in Pilok - it was fully booked! Of course, booking just two days in advance during a long holiday weekend meant there was no chance of finding a place to stay. We could only book accommodation near Sai Yok District. Once we were sure we had a place to sleep, we set off.

Our journey began impulsively. Our indecisiveness narrowed our options, but it wasn't a problem. We could stay anywhere, as long as we could drive out of Bangkok.

The rainy season, with the rhythm of the windshield wipers, mist or clouds, I don't know, floating faintly on the mountain tops all the way. The more it rains, the more careful we have to drive. Plus, the road is a two-lane, two-way road like this, so just drive chill, it's okay. Just go, don't rush.

After a four-hour journey, we checked into our first night's accommodation at "Baansuan Agape," a newly built resort in the Sai Yok district. The resort boasts beautiful and lush surroundings.

We booked a spacious house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 4 king-size beds. It features a large living area perfect for gatherings, complete with a powerful air conditioner to keep you cool while playing games. The house boasts stunning views, with a serene mountain backdrop and lush greenery, making it an ideal place for relaxation.

Visiting Sai Yok, a stop at Sai Yok Yai Waterfall is a must. During the rainy season, waterfalls are abundant, and a visit is guaranteed to offer a refreshing sight of cascading water, unlike the dry season when only rocks are visible.

We encountered a small wild animal at the waterfall... the dog, of course! Don't exaggerate!

This waterfall boasts a unique view found nowhere else.

2. Rafts that navigate under the bridge and rafts that are permanently moored along the riverbank, offering an imperial view.

3. Capture stunning photos from unique angles on the wooden bridge over the Mae Nam Khwae Noi River.

The entrance to the waterfall is lined with towering trees, creating a lush and shady canopy.

We drove about 60 kilometers further to Thong Pha Phum Market. We went to see if we could go to Pilok the next day. We also went to find supplies. It rained all the way.

The bridge crossing the river before reaching Thong Pha Phum district offers a breathtaking view. Throughout our journey, we encountered clouds gently floating over the mountain peaks, a result of the cool, humid weather and intermittent rain showers that persisted throughout the day.

Behind the Thong Pha Phum district market, there is a high bank leading down to the crystal-clear waters of the Khwae Noi River. The riverbed is filled with smooth, rounded stones, and the opposite bank is lined with lush greenery. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the refreshing water.

Due to the inclement weather, with heavy and light rain throughout the day, we have decided to cancel our trip to Pilok and Ban E-Tong. While it is possible to travel there, it may not be worthwhile. We will wait for the winter season to visit again, ensuring a more enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

Our impromptu tour unanimously decided to visit the "Vajiralongkorn Dam, also known as the Khao Laem Dam." This dam is located near the Thong Pha Phum Market, just a short distance away.

The low-lying clouds are not fog, but rather rain clouds forming. We don't have much time to take pictures, so we need to act quickly.

The lush greenery and the serene reservoir complement each other beautifully.

After visiting the dam, we continued to the "Hin Dad Hot Spring" before returning to our accommodation at Baan Suan Agape.

This hot spring is adjacent to a natural stream, meaning you can alternate between soaking in the hot spring and the cool stream.

Two days after we gave up on going to Pilok, we traveled back to Si Sawat district to our accommodation for the second night, Le Bassin Erawan. Tonight, we will be sleeping in air-conditioned tents.

This location boasts a riverside setting with stunning mountain views. During the rainy season, the atmosphere is particularly relaxing. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including swimming, relaxing by the riverbank, or taking a leisurely boat ride.

This accommodation offers a variety of options, including tents, floating bungalows on the water, and traditional bungalows on the shore. Tents are available in various sizes, from small two-person tents to larger ones that can accommodate four people. The accommodation is more comfortable than expected.

The wispy mist on the mountaintop is truly heartwarming.

This is our bed for tonight. The accommodation price includes dinner and breakfast. This is our dinner, delicious and satisfying.

Forget the image of a basic triangular tent used for camping. This is a spacious, air-conditioned tent equipped with a TV, refrigerator, lamps, and electrical outlets. It features two doors: one for the entrance and another leading to a private bathroom at the back.

The bathroom is surprisingly modern, but it is not insect-proof. If you have a fear of small insects or spiders, be sure to check carefully before using the bathroom.

Looking out from the tent, there are chairs and hammocks for relaxing. It is spacious and not as cramped as I thought.

Wake up to a clear sky for breakfast. This morning's sky looks clear and there shouldn't be any rain, after it rained all night.

Relaxing paddle boats are available for your enjoyment. Life jackets are provided for non-swimmers.

This place offers a variety of cozy corners for relaxation. In front of the dining room, hammocks are available for a leisurely nap. The breathtaking view makes it tempting to extend one's stay indefinitely.

Three days have flown by, and Kanchanaburi province still has so much to offer.

It is a liminal space between the mountains and the sea, where the land meets the water.

It's so chill, I don't know how to describe it in words.

If I have the chance, I would love to visit this place again, especially Pilok and E-tong, which we didn't get to see on this trip.
