I attended the launch event for the new bottled orange juice brand "SunKist" by "V Foods", chaired by Mr. Apirak Kosayodhin. The event was held in front of the Silom Complex building on Silom Road last Tuesday.

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Passersby were curious and asked, "Are you giving them away?" "Yes, we are," was the reply, followed by a laugh. "But if you can't wait, they're available for purchase at 7-Eleven."

The event was hosted by Mr. Eakkie, also known as Mr. Eakachai Eusaengkomses, which further piqued the interest of the audience. Additionally, young men and women were seen preparing to distribute orange juice.

SunKist: A Legacy of Citrus Excellence

SunKist, a globally recognized citrus brand, has been synonymous with quality since 1893. This legacy stems from a meticulous approach to orange cultivation, passed down through generations of dedicated farmers.

Over 1,000 SunKist cooperative farmers in California and Arizona, spanning five generations, meticulously hand-pick and cultivate oranges. This commitment to quality extends to every stage of production, ensuring the freshness, safety, and exceptional quality of SunKist products.

Today, V Foods has been entrusted by Sunkist Growers of California, USA, to develop and distribute Sunkist-branded fruit juices in Thailand. This partnership aims to provide Thai consumers with delicious, refreshing, and healthy beverages that are rich in natural nutrients and high quality. These products cater to the modern urban lifestyle, allowing people to work, enjoy life, and maintain their health simultaneously," said Mr. Aphirak.

One of the reasons why V Foods was granted the license this time is because SunKist Growers saw the potential and dedication of the V Foods team, who are young and innovative in developing products that are interesting.

SunKist has carefully selected two distinct orange varieties from its 40+ cultivars to create two new, world-first orange juice flavors: SunKist Freshy Blood Orange Juice and SunKist Freshy Navel Orange Juice. Blood oranges are unique in that they have naturally red flesh due to the presence of anthocyanins, which are antioxidants.

This beverage offers health and beauty benefits, incorporating the value of aronia berries, a superfruit rich in antioxidants. The navel orange juice, with its golden-yellow flesh, is notable for its high vitamin C content and its unique sweet and sour taste. Additionally, both flavors are health-conscious, being formulated with less sugar while still delivering a delicious and refreshing taste. They are currently available at 5,500 7-Eleven stores in Bangkok, its vicinity, and the Eastern region, priced at 20 baht per bottle.

Sunkist Freshy's target audience is health-conscious urbanites who are digitally savvy. The campaign was launched through online media channels and online influencers under the concept of "The journey of oranges from Sunkist California orange groves to Thailand." The campaign highlights the care and attention given throughout the journey of world-class oranges to deliver the benefits and value of nature to Thais in 2017. With a formula that is lower in sugar and provides natural value to all Thais, especially health-conscious young Thais, to prepare for the official launch on August 8th. #LiveFresh. Sunkist Sampling Team to be released soon

Sunkist Sampling Team

DJ Eakkie introduces the Sunkist Sampling Team.

Sunkist Sampling Team

Following the launch of Sunkist Freshy orange juice and the release of the Power Rangers campaign, the Sunkist Sampling Team hit the streets of Silom to distribute refreshments. Now, it's time to review both flavors of Sunkist Freshy: Navel Orange Juice and Blood Orange and Aronia Flavored Juice.

The bottle's design features sharp angles and a curved center section, making it easier to grip. The transparent bottle and green cap symbolize freshness.

The label design is beautiful, using mainly the white, yellow, and red colors of the orange flesh, making it look refreshing and highlighting the clear font of the features and brand. However, what makes you gasp and look back again is probably the font of the label of the blood orange juice and aronia juice. At first glance, you have to look back again because you read it as "What kind of juice is this?". It can be said that the font is not very clear. Many people also say that the word "aronia" should be written as "aronia". But anyway, it's a proper noun, so it doesn't matter how you write it. But it should be easy to read and understand. Otherwise, it would be funny to say, "You don't even know, how would they know what kind of juice it is?".

Sunkist Freshy Navel Orange Juice

The Navel Orange Juice flavor of SunKist Freshie, with its bright yellow bottle, offers a taste that is not overly sweet like commercially available bottled orange juices. Instead, it has a subtle sweetness with a slight tang and a faint aroma of SunKist oranges. The juice contains a small amount of orange pulp, as indicated on the bottle (20%), making it a refreshing drink that can be enjoyed on its own or with meals. Notably, it has only 80 calories, which is significantly lower than most commercially available bottled orange juices. Additionally, this Navel orange juice is a rich source of vitamin C.

Sunkist Freshy Blood Orange and Aronia Flavored Juice

The taste of the problematic orange juice is "What kind of juice is this?" lol. Or SunKist Freshy Blood Orange and Aronia Flavored Juice. Blood orange juice is the only orange with naturally red flesh due to anthocyanins, which have antioxidant properties and are beneficial for health and beauty. It is also blended with aronia berries, which are a superfruit high in antioxidants.

The initial taste is similar to a typical orange-berry blend, but with the distinct color and aroma of blood oranges, which I personally do not find particularly appealing. The flavor is slightly more tart than navel oranges, and it contains 20% orange pulp mixed with the juice.

In conclusion, I personally prefer SunKist Freshy Navel Orange Juice due to its familiar and refreshing taste that appeals to Thai consumers. However, it is important to note that SunKist positions itself as a premium brand offering healthy fruit juice options. The product is available in convenience stores such as 7-Eleven at a price of 20 baht per bottle.

Thank you for watching.
