Taipei offers an abundance of budget hotels and hostels, making it challenging to choose the best option. This review provides a concise overview of some of the top choices.

Muiu Capsule Inn is a highly rated accommodation option in Taiwan, attracting significant interest from travelers. Conveniently located near Taipei Main Station Exit Z10 and Taoyuan Airport MRT Exit 4 or 5, the inn is within a 10-minute walk from both locations.

The hotel is located on floors 10-12 of the building. The lobby is on the 12th floor. Please take the elevator to the 12th floor to check in. The hotel offers Twin, Double, Triple, and Quadruple Rooms. All rooms have shared bathrooms.

The accommodation is a twin room with bunk beds. Each bed has a small bedside table and is equipped with power outlets and USB ports.

The room will provide two sets of towels and toothbrushes. The bed and blanket are of 5-star quality, offering exceptional comfort. The pillows are made of duck down, and the blanket is also made of duck down. Many hostels or budget hotels choose to use 5-star hotel bedding, pillows, and blankets to highlight their advantages.

4 U Hostel is a hostel that has been open for 2-3 years. The hostel is located in the same building as Muiu Capsule Inn, but 4 U Hostel is on the 5th floor.

The fifth floor features a reception area, a common area, and a unique feature: a large private balcony. During the winter months, this balcony becomes a popular spot for residents to relax, sunbathe, or enjoy a cup of tea. Occasionally, residents also gather here for barbecues.

The majority of rooms on the 5th floor are dormitory-style. However, in December 2016, the hotel expanded its accommodations to include a private room option on the 7th floor. These private rooms include twin, double, and family options, all of which have shared bathrooms.

I stayed in a double room on the 7th floor. The large bed was against the wall, and there was a small window inside. There were two folding tables, and the space under the bed was quite high, so I could easily fit a large suitcase underneath.

The bathrooms are separated by gender, similar to most hostels. Shower gel, shampoo, and laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer) are provided.

I stayed in a Classic Double room (room number 11) with a window that offered an unobstructed view of the surroundings. There were no buildings blocking the view, which made the room feel spacious and airy.

Amenities include a TV, towels, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, and an en-suite bathroom. A light breakfast is also provided.

The bed is a thick spring bed with 5-star grade down-like pillows and blankets, making for a very comfortable sleep.

Approaching from the station, the side of the hotel comes into view first. The green building is visible even before reaching the intersection. The building's exterior appears somewhat dated, prompting a fleeting thought of uncertainty. However, upon reaching the hotel's entrance, the impression changes dramatically. The hotel is a small establishment, decorated in a Scandinavian style that exudes a cozy atmosphere. The warm and inviting ambiance is immediately apparent. Notably, the hotel has received a high rating of 8.9 on Booking.com.

This accommodation offers a variety of room types to choose from, including Single, Double, Twin, and Triple rooms with either shared or private bathrooms. Additionally, there are Bunk rooms for 4 people and Dormitory Rooms for 6-8 people, available in both mixed and female-only options.

4 Plus Hotel: A Five-Story Haven

The 4 Plus Hotel boasts five floors, each offering a unique experience. The ground floor houses the reception area, a welcoming living space, and a versatile restaurant. Notably, the restaurant transforms into a vibrant bar from 13:30 to 23:00, catering to diverse needs throughout the day.

Floors 2-5 will be entirely dedicated to guest rooms, with a common area on the 5th floor. A designated smoking area will also be available.

The single room I booked is located on the 5th floor and is designed for single occupancy. It is one of only two rooms on the 5th floor, which also serves as a common area. Please note that there is no bathroom on the 5th floor. Guests staying on the 5th floor must use the bathroom facilities on the 4th floor.

The single room was not as small as single rooms in many other hostels. I was able to fully open my large suitcase and still have

The hotel is conveniently located within an 8-10 minute walk from either Zhongshan MRT Station (Red Line) Exit 1 or Shando MRT Station (Blue Line) Exit 1. While it is accessible via the Taoyuan Airport MRT, I personally enjoyed the leisurely walk from the station, finding it surprisingly manageable and enjoyable.

I booked a Single room, also known as a Superior Double on some websites. This room is ideal for solo travelers. For two people, I recommend booking a Standard Double room instead. The bed in this room is a Queen Size, and the bathroom has a glass wall that adjoins the bed. However, there is a curtain for privacy. The room is well-equipped with amenities, similar to most hotels, including bottled water, towels, a hairdryer, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, tea, coffee, a refrigerator, and a safe.

All hotels offer a wide variety of rooms to suit all types and sizes of groups, accommodating from 1 to 8 guests per room, ensuring a comfortable stay for all.
