DAY #1

8:00 AM Departure!

Start... Departing from Don Mueang Airport in the bright morning atmosphere. It's worth mentioning that... not long before, heavy rain had been falling continuously for several days in Bangkok and many other provinces. Fortunately, there was no more rain to worry about. The clear weather was perfect for traveling...

After a short flight, I arrived at Krabi International Airport. The weather was fantastic, with bright sunshine and a warm breeze. Although it was a bit hot, I welcomed the change from the constant rain that had plagued Krabi in the days leading up to my trip.

As mentioned earlier, this trip to Krabi was a 3-day, 2-night package booked through Koh Phi Phi Tour. The package included 2 nights' accommodation, a speedboat tour of Krabi's islands (choice of one tour), 3 meals, and airport/bus terminal transfers. This made the trip very convenient, with Koh Phi Phi Tour staff waiting to greet us at the airport and providing comfortable transportation. No need to take a taxi into town like on previous trips.

11:00 AM. Go Choy: Rice Noodles with Fried Chicken

As it was almost noon, we decided to have lunch. The van from Phi Phi Tour that picked me up took me to a restaurant before checking in. Not far from the airport, there is a famous restaurant called "Ko Joy", a long-established chicken and rice noodle restaurant in Krabi province. The highlight is the rice noodles made from fresh dough, made fresh every day. Served with a variety of curries to choose from, and most importantly, it must be eaten with fried chicken.

Crispy fried chicken with a crunchy exterior and tender interior pairs perfectly with rice noodles in a spicy and flavorful sauce.

Consider pairing it with steamed fish curry in banana leaf parcels for a harmonious culinary experience. The diverse array of curry pastes available, ranging from salty to fiery southern Thai flavors, presents an opportunity to sample a variety of distinct tastes. Indulge in a single meal that offers a spectrum of flavors.

In this sweltering heat, nothing beats a refreshing drink. Here, they serve it in a convenient pouch, perfect for on-the-go refreshment. If you can't finish it, take it with you! This delicious spot is definitely worth a visit.

12:00 PM SRISAWARA CASA HOTEL IN KRABI

After a delicious lunch, it was time to head to Krabi Town. My accommodation for the night was the SRISAWARA CASA Hotel, conveniently located in the heart of the city. The hotel is within walking distance of Krabi River Mouth, Khao Khanap Nam, and the Black Crab Square, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. In my opinion, the hotel's location is excellent. Not only is it close to the river mouth, but it is also situated in a vibrant culinary district, including Krabi Walking Street, Vogue Department Store, and other renowned restaurants. I will be staying here for two nights as part of my travel package.

After checking in, I headed to my room to unpack and relax in the cool air conditioning. My room was located on the fourth floor, accessible by elevator. The hotel appeared modern and clean.

Stepping inside the room, it felt spacious and comfortable. The bed was soft and inviting, perfect for a quick nap after a satisfying meal.

Warmly welcomed by a baby elephant, which will soon be transformed into a towel.

The room is equipped with various amenities and appliances, including a television, refrigerator, air conditioner, electric kettle, and wardrobe.

Free drinking water was provided, and I quickly put it in the refrigerator to chill it. I wanted to drink it cold, as the weather in Krabi is currently very hot.

Let's take a look at the bathroom. The bathroom is spacious and clean. I like that it has a rain shower, which provides a refreshing shower experience. It also comes equipped with soap, shampoo, and other bathroom amenities.

This place provides hairdryers, so you don't need to bring your own.

Let's take a look at the view from the balcony. It might be a bit hot right now, but in the morning or evening, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of downtown Krabi. You can see the waterfront from here, as the hotel is located near the mouth of the Krabi River. It's less than 100 meters from the hotel to the waterfront, where you can take a stroll, admire the limestone mountains flanking the river, and take photos with the Black Crab Monument.

The ground floor of the SRISAWARA CASA Hotel houses the office of Phi Phi Tour, where you can book day trips to various islands. Some interesting day trip programs include: Krabi Sea-Talay Waek Tour, Koh Hong-Talay Nai Tour, and Phi Phi Island Tour. All sea tours are conducted on speedboats, which are comfortable, fast, and safe. Guides and boat crew will take care of you throughout the journey. In addition to sea tours, there are other tour options available to suit your needs.

My itinerary for a 3-day, 2-night trip to Krabi:

Day 1: Upon arrival in Krabi, I will have half a day to explore the nearby areas of the city center. In the afternoon, I will embark on a day trip to explore the stunning seascapes of Krabi.

Day 2: I will wake up early to make the most of the day. I will either explore more of the city center independently or opt for another day trip to discover different attractions.

Day 3: I will have the flexibility to either explore the city at my own pace or purchase additional day trips to further immerse myself in the beauty of Krabi.

3-Day, 2-Night Itinerary Summary

  • Day 1: Afternoon exploration of "Ko Klang" (Middle Island).
  • Day 2: Full-day tour of the Phi Phi Islands, including Maya Bay.
  • Day 3: Morning visit to Emerald Pool, followed by an afternoon at Klong Sra Kaew.

13:00 hrs. Community Tour at Koh Klang, Krabi

After checking in and settling into the hotel, it was time to explore the surrounding area. With only a few hours in the afternoon, I decided to find a place that wasn't too far from the hotel and the city center. "Koh Klang" was the first option that came to mind.

"Ko Klang" is an island located near Krabi town. It is known for its natural abundance and the traditional way of life of its inhabitants. If you enjoy community-based tourism and learning about local culture, this island is a must-visit destination. As the majority of the population on Ko Klang are Muslims, it is important to be aware of some basic rules before visiting the island. These include the "5 S" prohibitions: no alcohol consumption, no dogs allowed, no pigs allowed, no wearing of singlets, and no public displays of affection.

From SRISAWARA CASA Hotel, you can walk to various tourist attractions in the Pak Nam Krabi area. Alternatively, for convenience, there are several motorbike rental shops available. Given the scorching afternoon sun, walking outdoors can be quite daunting. Therefore, I opted for a motorbike ride, stopping first at the Black Crab Monument, a symbol of Krabi town, for a記念撮影.

The backdrop features twin peaks flanking the water, towering mountains situated on either side of the river that flows through the center. For a closer look, you can hire a long-tailed boat from the nearby pier, where they wait to provide boat rentals.

Traveling from Krabi Town to Koh Klang Community

There are two piers from which you can take a boat to Koh Klang Community:

1. Chao Fah Pier: Located near the Black Crab Square, this pier offers convenient access for those staying in the city center. The boat ride takes approximately 15 minutes, and the fare is negotiable (depending on the number of passengers and the boat). The boat will dock at Tha Hin Pier (Middle Island).

2. Thara Park Pier The fare is 10 baht per person and takes about 5 minutes. The boat will stop at Tha Le Pier (Central Island). This pier allows bicycles and motorcycles to be transported across the river.

The ferry operates from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Outside of these hours, private charters are available.

To facilitate my travels, I opted to transport my motorbike across the river on a ferry, providing me with a convenient mode of transportation for exploring the island. I chose to embark at the Thara Public Park Pier. Upon arrival, I anticipated a wait, but to my surprise, the locals frequently crossed the river, resulting in minimal waiting time. The ferry employed was a "bow-cut boat," featuring a front section designed for convenient docking and cargo loading. If unsure about self-loading your vehicle, simply inform the ferry staff, and they will assist you.

The boat soon set off, heading towards the **central island** in the sweltering heat.

A constant flow of movement can be observed throughout the day between Krabi Town and Koh Klang.

The boat docked at Tha Le Pier (Koh Klang) in less than 10 minutes. Motorcycles were gradually unloaded from the boat, and the fare was paid, which included both the passenger and the motorcycle, for a total of 20 baht. This is incredibly affordable.

For those who find it inconvenient to bring their motorcycles across, there is no need to worry. The island offers **three-wheeled vehicles** for rent, which can take you to 3-4 key locations around the island. **The cost is 300-400 baht per vehicle.**

Though a community island with a simple lifestyle and traditional way of life, the central island offers accommodation services for interested tourists in a Muslim community atmosphere. Homestay accommodations are available, including separate homestays in small houses and homestays where guests live, eat, and stay with the homeowner. One such example is "Thinking of Cottage".

During the next 2-3 hours, I will take a motorcycle tour around the key highlights of community-based tourism. I will ride my motorcycle along narrow roads to the first stop, the Ko Klang Model Head-Boat Learning Center.

The Head-to-Head Learning Center was established to preserve the traditional way of life of the islanders, which is becoming increasingly rare. The original head-to-head boats are disappearing, so the villagers have come together to build replica head-to-head boats to conserve and develop them into a famous product of the province, generating income for the community.

Here, you will find an explanation of the history and origin of the rua huatong, as well as its significance to fishermen. Additionally, a demonstration of the rua huatong's construction process is available for interested visitors. Furthermore, miniature replicas of the rua huatong in various sizes are available for purchase as souvenirs.

From the Simulated Junk Boat Learning Center, a short distance away, you can visit the Sangkhot Yot rice fields of the Koh Klang villagers. This rice is unique because it is grown and harvested by the community itself. What makes it special is that... the rice fields are located in an area with a mixture of seawater and freshwater, making it different from other rice fields. The characteristics of Sangkhot Yot rice are... it is soft when cooked, has a good taste, and is high in nutritional value.

Here, a demonstration of the various steps involved in harvesting Oryza rufipogon will also be presented.

The final group is the batik weaving group, which produces batik fabric for sale as a supplementary income. The batik production process begins with white fabric, which is stamped with wax patterns and then stretched taut. Designs are drawn and colors are added, and the fabric is left to dry for a day before being dyed and dried again. This results in batik products that are sold to generate income for the community.

Note: Participants can try their hand at making a small batik cloth for 50 baht. They can color it to their liking. Those who are interested can give it a try and keep it as a souvenir.

For those interested in purchasing batik fabric, there is a shop selling batik products on the side. You can choose from a variety of clothing and scarves to take home as souvenirs. Not only are the prices affordable, but you will also be supporting the local community.

Let's find a peaceful corner to sit and enjoy the sea. The atmosphere on this island is incredibly serene, with only the sound of the wind blowing constantly. Let's take a break from the sun and rest under the trees. Let's admire nature for a while!

And... it was time to cross back to Krabi town. I rode my motorbike back to the pier and waited for a while. The boat driver arrived and helped me load the motorbike onto the boat. We were ready to sail back to Krabi town.

Despite the short visit to Koh Klang, it offered a glimpse into the authentic island lifestyle, which is surprisingly preserved despite its proximity to the city. The island's simple way of life, just 10 minutes from the bustling city center, is a testament to the community's resilience and dedication to tradition.

4:00 PM. Enjoying oysters at Krua Pee Dam Thara.

Right now, I'm craving something simple and spicy to give my body a little boost. So, I'm going with some Isaan food: papaya salad, duck salad, and weeping tiger.

A must-try dish in Krabi is the "hoi chak teen" (razor clams) with seafood dipping sauce. The chewy texture of the clams pairs perfectly with the tangy sauce, making for a delicious and unique culinary experience.

After a satisfying meal, we decided to return to the hotel. Although it was late afternoon, the sun was still strong and the heat was oppressive. We wanted to take a shower and relax in the cool air conditioning. We lay down on the comfortable beds and, before we knew it, we were fast asleep.

7:00 PM: Discover the Best of Krabi at Krabi Walking Street

Taking a short nap can instantly refresh you.

Waking up in the early evening gives us some time to explore the nightlife without having to go far. We'll take a walk down Krabi Walking Street from our accommodation at SRISAWARA CASA Hotel. It's just a 200-meter walk across the street to Krabi Walking Street, which is bustling with activity at this hour.

Krabi Walking Street offers a wide variety of goods, including food, souvenirs, and daily necessities. The market is open from the evening until around 9 pm, but only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It is always crowded with both locals and tourists. Strolling through the market and trying the local food is a relaxing experience. You can find a variety of local dishes and see many interesting things.

The variety of food available is truly overwhelming, making it difficult to choose what to eat. Every option seems more tempting than the last.

The Pad Thai here is said to be delicious, but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. Right now, I'm craving something with rice.

Seafood is also available. We offer grilled shrimp, shellfish, crab, and fish, along with seafood dipping sauce.

A wide variety of desserts are available for you to try.

This menu item looks unusual. It only costs 10 baht. It might be worth trying.

I came across Southern-style rice salad and decided to give it a try. I was craving something rice-based and local, and this seemed like the perfect fit. Priced at 40 baht with a fried egg, the portion and taste were excellent value for money. Delicious!

And another menu that I tried, I really like it. Every time I come here, I must order it. "Kai Gaeng" with grilled chicken with spicy southern spices. Both wings, skin, and entrails are delicious in every part.

For this chicken dish... Due to my love for it, I bought a lot, so much that I could barely finish it. I was so full, so full that I was sleepy... And as usual, after eating, I felt sleepy, so I had to sleep. It's a good thing, though. I have to wake up early tomorrow. Getting a lot of rest is good, isn't it!

Day 2

7:30 AM: Embark on a journey to explore the Phi Phi Islands with Phi Phi Tour.

I woke up early today!

Setting the alarm for 7:00 AM, I woke up and took care of some personal matters. I then prepared my belongings, including clothes, sunscreen, and other essentials for a boat trip to the sea. Today, I will be embarking on a day tour with Phi Phi Island Tour, having chosen the In-Depth Phi Phi Islands Tour – Maya Bay (by Speedboat) program. The program includes a shuttle service from various hotels to the pier, with the pick-up time scheduled for 8:00 AM. With about half an hour to spare before the pick-up, I decided to have breakfast at the hotel.

Breakfast at SRISAWARA CASA Hotel is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and consists of a simple menu of eggs, ham, sausages, bread, tea, coffee, and juice.

At 8:00 AM sharp, as scheduled, the van from Koh Phi Phi Tour arrived to pick us up. The van made a few stops to pick up other tourists at 2-3 locations in Krabi Town before heading to the pier.

After approximately 30 minutes, we arrived at the **private pier of Phi Phi Tour**. This serves as a central gathering point for tourists arriving from various locations, including the city center and Ao Nang. Here, tourists register and are divided into different groups based on their chosen tour routes. **Phi Phi Tour** offers a variety of day trip options, and **for my trip today, I opted to explore the Phi Phi Islands.**

Prior to boarding, a selection of **complimentary Thai snacks** is provided to satiate your appetite.

Once everything was in order, the staff escorted us to the boat. We might have been a bit slower than the others, as we had stopped to use the restroom (55+). When we walked down, the boat was already full of people waiting.

For today's trip to the Phi Phi Islands, your guide will be "Wan Sao" (Guide named Wan Sao), who will provide information about the various tourist attractions and assist you throughout the journey. Additionally, the boat crew will be present to ensure your safety. Before departing, the crew members with various responsibilities will introduce themselves, and the guide will explain the safety precautions to ensure everyone's well-being.

Every day, over 80% of tourists are Chinese, with the rest being Westerners and some Thais. Therefore, there are staff on board who act as Chinese interpreters to ensure mutual understanding. While sitting on the boat, I heard all three languages: Thai, English, and Chinese.

Received drinking water and wristbands.

Today, the weather is relatively clear, which is very fortunate because it has been raining continuously for several days. This has made the boat ride today very smooth, with no waves or wind, and the boat is running on time.

Those who have items that cannot get wet can borrow waterproof bags on the boat.

9:30 AM. Hello, Phi Phi Island!

Sky, sand, breeze, and people...

After a 45-minute boat ride, we arrived at our first destination, Maya Bay, on Phi Phi Leh Island. This bay is well-known as the filming location for the famous movie "The Beach".

The popularity of this bay among tourists worldwide is largely due to its fame in Hollywood films. As a result, it is not surprising to encounter a significant number of tourists visiting this stunning beach.

The boat docked at Maya Bay, where we had approximately 45 minutes to explore. For convenience and efficiency, our Saturday guide led us on a brief tour of the area.

Maya Bay is a stunning bay with crystal-clear water, fine sand, and a crescent-shaped beach surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. The beach is usually crowded throughout the day. Saturday's guide recommended that if you want to experience the bay with fewer people, you should consider staying overnight on Phi Phi Don Island. Then, in the morning, you can charter a long-tail boat to the bay early in the morning. This is because if you arrive later in the morning, tour groups will start arriving in large numbers, and the atmosphere will become significantly more crowded.

Tourists seem to be particularly impressed by the beauty of this beach, with many taking the opportunity to capture stunning photos.

Next, try walking through to the other side of the island, which requires walking along a path for about 300 meters.

Here, you will encounter "Ao Lo Sama", a small bay that serves as another excellent spot for shallow snorkeling.

As the 45-minute time limit approached, I walked back to Maya Bay to wait for the boat, as we had agreed. After all the tourists had returned to the boat, we set off for our next destination.

A short boat ride from Maya Bay, around the other side of Phi Phi Leh Island, leads to Pi Leh Bay. This bay has only one entrance and exit, and it resembles a large lagoon surrounded by limestone mountains. The highlight of this bay is the stunning emerald color of the water. This location is popular with tourists, and boats can be seen entering and exiting the bay at all times.

Ao Pi Lae boasts vibrant colors and crystal-clear waters, offering breathtaking views of the sandy seabed.

The boat will slowly take you on a scenic tour of Ao Pi Leh Bay, allowing you to fully capture the breathtaking scenery.

Leaving Ao Pi Lae, the boat slowed down to allow us to admire the Viking Cave.

Viking Cave is a cave that is home to swiftlets, where a private company has been granted a concession for bird's nests. In addition to bird's nests, the cave also contains ancient rock paintings on its walls. It is presumed that... the paintings are the work of fishermen who came to anchor their boats and take shelter from the waves at sea.

It's time for some snorkeling. The boat docks at Monkey Bay, aptly named for its resident population of long-tailed macaques. As you stroll along the beach, you'll encounter troops of monkeys who are quite accustomed to tourists.

However, we will not be walking up the beach to see the monkeys today. We have come to Monkey Bay to go diving in this area.

The crew members distributed diving masks and provided safety instructions to the tourists before they disembarked from the boat. Some crew members also entered the water to assist with supervision.

The surrounding atmosphere of Ao Ling is quite natural, with clear seawater. The diving time at this point is approximately half an hour.

After the designated time, tourists gradually emerged from the water, and the boat headed towards Ao Ton Sai on Phi Phi Don Island, where they would have lunch.

Feeling hungry now..

The boat is preparing to dock at Ao Ton Sai, which is considered the main bay on Phi Phi Don Island. This is because it serves as the main port, bringing together various accommodations, restaurants, and souvenir shops within the bay.

The atmosphere at Ao Ton Sai is quite lively, with tourists from various nationalities engaging in a wide range of activities along the beachfront.

Day-trippers with Phi Phi Tour will have lunch here. It is a set lunch served in the Phi Phi Princess Resort Restaurant.

The menu offers 5-6 dishes with a mild flavor profile, avoiding excessive spice to cater to tourists. The overall taste is pleasant, and the food is a great way to replenish energy after a day of diving and swimming. Additionally, fruits, tea, and coffee are available.

After a satisfying meal, you will have approximately one hour to relax at Ao Tanai Bay. Take a seat on the beach, soak in the coastal atmosphere, and allow your food to settle.

2:00 PM. Dive... Ao Nui!

The boat took us from Ao Tanai, where we had lunch, to Ao Nui, where we would go snorkeling in the afternoon.

Ao Nui is a small bay with a peaceful atmosphere. It has a short beach, approximately 100 meters long as the crow flies. This is another snorkeling spot for today.

Before entering the water, the guide will explain the geographical features of the bay and provide safety instructions. A team of boat staff will be on hand to ensure close supervision, as always.

Admire the underwater scenery.

Today, the weather is... exceptionally clear with calm waters, making it perfect for snorkeling.

The signal from the staff indicated it was time to exit the water, marking the end of our diving session at this location. As this was our final dive in the sea, we showered with fresh water before leaving the area.

3:00 PM. Relaxing... Lounging on the bamboo island.

Lay down a mat to sleep on.

The Final Stop: Concluding our day tour program, we arrive at Bamboo Island, a small island in the middle of the sea, located between Phi Phi Island and the coast of Krabi province. The beach on this island is stunning, with crystal-clear water and fine white sand. Managed by the national park, the island offers a tourist service center, restaurants, and restrooms.

Bamboo Island is teeming with tourists, rivaling the crowds at Maya Bay. To find some peace and quiet, we had to search for a secluded corner. We had a full hour to relax on the island, and our Saturday guide thoughtfully provided mats for us to borrow so we could nap under the trees at our leisure.

The atmosphere on Koh Mai Phai is serene, with tourists relaxing and enjoying the scenery at various spots.

For me, once I find a suitable spot, I spread out my mat and lie down. The cool breeze blows gently, making me feel so comfortable that I actually fall asleep.

Waking up, it was almost time to board the boat back. The guide began signaling for tourists to return to the boat at the appointed time. While waiting for the other tourists to board the boat, the staff distributed snacks, such as pandan cake and watermelon.

In this scorching heat, a chilled watermelon is a lifesaver, offering a refreshing boost.

After that, it was time to depart from Bamboo Island and head back to the Krabi coast. The journey took about half an hour, and we arrived at the Phi Phi Tour pier, the same spot where we had boarded the boat that morning. Upon arrival, the guide summarized the trip and thanked the tourists for joining them. We then dispersed and boarded shuttle buses to return to our respective hotels.

Day 3

6:30 AM: Wake up early and soak in the Emerald Pool!

We are worlds apart.

Today... I woke up early again. It's the last day of my trip to Krabi. After quickly taking care of my personal business, I went downstairs to prepare breakfast. The plan for today... is to ride a motorbike to visit various tourist attractions in Krabi province, such as Emerald Pool, Klong Sra Kaew, and Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam.

In the morning, I will travel to the Emerald Pool first. I want to capture the morning atmosphere and swim when there are fewer people. So I woke up early and rode a motorbike from SRISAWARA CASA Hotel to Highway 4, heading towards Trang Province, about 60 kilometers. Don't worry about getting lost, as there are signs all the way.

After a journey of about an hour, we arrived at the entrance of Emerald Pool. For me, I have been here many times before. However, the members who came with me have never been here, so I had to bring them. I took the opportunity to visit Emerald Pool again. On many occasions when I have been here before, I have encountered a large number of tourists from many nationalities, so much so that Emerald Pool has become like a water park. However, in recent times, I have discovered that it is best to arrive early in the morning (the gate opens at 8:00 am). The earlier you arrive, the better! 55!

The doors opened at 8:00 AM sharp. I rushed to buy a ticket and felt like I might be one of the first people there today.

  • Ticket price: Children 10 baht, Adults 20 baht
  • Opening hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

To reach the Emerald Pool, you need to walk approximately 800 meters from the entrance. The walk is pleasant and relaxing, as the path is surrounded by lush greenery and towering trees.

We arrived at Emerald Pool early, and the atmosphere was incredibly peaceful.

Upon arrival, they quickly changed their clothes and prepared to jump into the water.

Emerald Pool, a stunningly clear pool nestled in the heart of the forest.

Near the path, a small stream flows down, resembling a miniature waterfall, offering a playful element to the landscape.

As time passed, sunlight began to filter through, transforming the water's hue into a different kind of beauty.

Emerald Pool, crystal-clear water... Soaking in this is pure bliss!

This moment without people feels like having a private pool to myself. 55+

When playing in the pool, you may feel something nibbling at your legs and feet. This is because there are fish in the water.

The pool water appears clear, but there is sediment at the bottom. If many people enter the pool at once, the water may become cloudy.

The morning sun is pleasant, making it not too hot.

As the crowd began to swell, it was time to make our exit. We changed our clothes and hopped on a motorbike, heading back to Krabi Town. We returned to our hotel to regroup.

12:00 PM: Kayaking at Khlong Sra Kaew!

Looking for ways to exercise...

Returning to base at the SRISAWARA CASA Hotel to pack and check out, the afternoon's agenda involved a motorbike ride north to "Khlong Sa Kaew" and "Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam", both located within close proximity to each other.

The afternoon sky was overcast, threatening rain. After finishing lunch, I immediately rode my motorbike to my intended destination. The distance from Krabi Town to Khlong Sra Kaew is approximately 24 kilometers, which is not far. Along the way, I encountered limestone mountains and lush green trees on both sides of the road. The air was so refreshing. I enjoyed the scenery as I rode, and in less than half an hour, I arrived at the entrance of Khlong Sra Kaew.

Firstly, a venue maintenance fee must be paid.

  • Thai adults 20 baht, children 10 baht
  • Foreigners adults 80 baht, children 40 baht

Boat tour fee

Kayak rental fee: 120 baht for 1 person per boat / 200 baht for 2 people per boat (1 hour)

OR 60 baht per person / 100 baht for 2 people (30 minutes)

Khlong Sra Kaew is a pristine freshwater canal with cool, flowing water, making it an ideal spot for recreation, swimming, or kayaking. The canal's headwaters boast crystal-clear, turquoise waters, reminiscent of the Blue Lagoon in Vang Vieng. Surrounded by lush greenery, the atmosphere is tranquil and refreshing. Originating a short distance from the headwaters, the canal meanders through a swamp forest before emptying into the Andaman Sea, covering a distance of approximately 2-3 kilometers.

Water play area Come and play in the water Jumping into the water here... It feels like fun too...

The Beginning of Kayaking Put on your life jacket and... get ready to board! Let's get some exercise by kayaking and enjoying the scenery... since we're already here!

Upon entering the forest, one is immediately enveloped by a sense of cool, refreshing tranquility.

The journey begins with a leisurely paddle through a narrow, meandering canal that snakes its way through the dense forest. Spanning nearly 2 kilometers, this waterway eventually empties into the spectacular Andaman Sea.

Feeling: Today is relatively quiet, as there are no other kayaks joining us on this canal. At times, I put away my paddle and let the kayak drift freely with the slow-moving current.

Paddling a kayak along the river, surrounded by lush nature and abundant trees, creates a refreshing and invigorating experience.

Video - Exploring the Krabi Canal

Watch the video here.

The water in the canal is so clear and clean that you can see the bottom.

Amidst the natural ambiance, kayaking provides a delightful experience.

After putting in a lot of effort, it's time to take a break and rest.

Upon reaching the end point at Wang Yan Chueak (beyond which lies the Andaman Sea), the boat must be steered back along the original route. The return journey requires more effort, as the boat must navigate against the incoming tide.

As we paddled back upstream, the rain began to fall, and it seemed like it was going to get heavier and heavier. Luckily, it started raining when we were almost back to the starting point. As soon as we docked the boat, we ran for cover. After that, it rained heavily for a while. Now we can only sit under the shelter, watching the rain and accepting the fact that our plan to continue to "Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam" will have to be canceled.

I have visited Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam once before. The atmosphere was similar to this. I planned to come back again, but I missed it. Oh well, I can always come back another time! 55+

After waiting for the rain to stop for almost an hour, I quickly rode back to Krabi town. Upon arriving at the hotel, I changed my clothes and waited for the hotel shuttle to take me to the airport.

4:00 PM: Conclude with… the delicious flavors of the South!

After checking out of the SRISAWARA CASA Hotel, we had some time to spare before our flight back to Krabi Airport. Our driver took us to Koy Kulakasai Restaurant, a local southern Thai restaurant located near the airport. Surrounded by mountains, the restaurant offered a natural ambiance, especially after the recent rain, which created a refreshing atmosphere. We tried some of the restaurant's recommended dishes, including grilled fish with shrimp paste, stir-fried chaya leaves with eggs, and spicy yellow curry with fish. Served with fresh vegetables as a side dish, the meal was a delicious way to end our trip.

Subsequently, I arrived at the airport just in time, checked in, and was ready to depart.

This 3-day, 2-night trip marked my return to Krabi Province. Every visit to Krabi brings immense joy, and it's a destination that never fails to impress. I look forward to returning again and again. I extend my gratitude to Phi Phi Tour for their invaluable guidance and support throughout my journey. Until we meet again in Krabi!
