McDonald's New Menu: Crispy Chicken Rice

McDonald's introduces its newest menu item: Crispy Chicken Rice.

In an effort to provide unique menu offerings in each country, McDonald's has introduced a new dish specifically for Thailand. After months of development and recipe refinement, the "McKhao Man Gai Tod" (Crispy Chicken Rice) is now available. Customers can choose between the "McKhao Man Gai Krob" (Crispy Chicken) and the "McKhao Man Gai Spicy" (Spicy Chicken) for 59 baht per serving.

The crispy chicken, which is a Chic Stick style, uses pure meat. The batter is not thick at all and is crispy. The meat inside is as thick as a pinky finger, and when you bite into it, it is soft and full-flavored. The seasoning is mild, and the sweet dipping sauce enhances the flavor. It is a good standard.

This dish, the Spicy Chicken, has a significantly darker color than the Crispy Chicken. The batter is the same, crispy and thin, but the chicken meat is thinner and more tender than the Crispy Chicken. It stands out with its strong, spicy flavor that will make you sweat. The taste is satisfying and delicious. Recommended.

The rice, which I personally consider the highlight of this dish, exceeded expectations. The standard cup of rice was perfectly cooked, with distinct grains that were not oily. The aroma was prominent, and the flavor was rich and well-defined.

This portion is the chicken rice dipping sauce that Ronaldo mentioned in the clip. It has a strong aroma of ginger and spices, and a rich, salty flavor that enhances the taste of the rice. It is unclear whether this sauce can be requested as an additional topping from the staff. If the rice itself is already delicious, then there is no need for the sauce. However, if the flavor is not quite to your liking, you can try requesting the sauce to add an extra layer of taste.

And finally, the macaroni soup, which comes in a cup and is not just broth but comes with various ingredients such as macaroni and diced vegetables. The broth is hot and lightly seasoned, just enough to balance the rich flavor of the chicken rice. The ingredients are soft and easy to eat. I personally think that children will like it because of its color, light taste, and the fact that it contains vegetables.

The special menu item, **McCrispy Chicken Rice**, offers a familiar and generous portion size. The rice is surprisingly well-prepared, exceeding expectations for a **McDonald's** establishment that does not specialize in chicken rice. In fact, the quality surpasses some dedicated chicken rice vendors I have encountered. The aroma, texture, and flavor are all present, ensuring a satisfying experience. Personally, I prefer the Spicy Chicken over the Crispy Chicken due to its juicier texture and bolder, more exciting flavor. The accompanying macaroni soup effectively balances the meal, providing a welcome contrast and a generous amount of ingredients. At 59 baht for the individual portion and 89 baht for the set, the pricing is competitive with the typical 40-55 baht range for chicken rice outside of McDonald's. However, the added benefit of McDonald's quality food, ambiance, and service makes it an attractive option. Give this special menu item a try and see if you enjoy it. Experience McDonald's take on chicken rice, but be quick, as it is a limited-time offer available from today until October 5th, 2017, or while supplies last.
