I never imagined that "Chanthaburi Province" would have such beautiful beachfront accommodations in close proximity to numerous tourist attractions.

Today, we're taking a break and recharging at what we believe to be the most beautiful hotel on Khlung Wiman Beach: Peggy's Cove Resort. Located in Khlung Wiman, Chanthaburi, this stunning destination is just a three-hour drive from Bangkok.

This is our first time visiting this province. We usually only go to Pattaya, Rayong, or cross over to Trat. We've never stopped in Chanthaburi before. This time, it's finally time to explore the city of Chanthaburi.

When thinking of Chanthaburi, the first image that comes to mind is that of rambutan and durian orchards. However, it is often overlooked that this province is also a coastal city with a wealth of attractions to offer visitors.

Let's explore the beautiful hotels and tourist attractions of Chanthaburi.

Peggy's Cove Resort boasts architecture and interior design inspired by Western fishing villages, creating a stylish and distinctly foreign atmosphere. The resort's aesthetic evokes a sense of being transported to a different country, as evidenced by the photographs.

The first impression was "wow"! The walkway is a wooden bridge connecting each house. The houses are colorful and eye-catching. The bottom is water, which looks clean and shady, perfect for a relaxing day.

Each building has a different shape, depending on the type of room. Some are two-story buildings, while others are individual houses spaced far apart for maximum privacy. (I even snuck around to check out the other houses!)

Each house is beautifully designed, blending seamlessly with the resort. It's like another world, and I don't mean to exaggerate, but that's how I feel. Every angle I captured in my photos turned out stunning.

The easiest way to take photos is to stand against a colorful wall. No matter how you take the photo, it will look good. Every color is photogenic.

This is our cozy little home for the night. The pastel blue house is a Deluxe Jacuzzi Villa. It may not look like much from the front, but let's head inside and see what it has to offer.

The king-size bed, piled high with fluffy pillows, occupies half the room, beckoning with its irresistible comfort. The plush mattress promises a sleep so deep, you'll never want to leave. In truth, this bed is a siren, luring you into a blissful slumber from which escape seems impossible.

The room is equipped with a study desk, a dressing table, a side table, a large wall-mounted TV, and a sofa bed. It also features a Jacuzzi bathtub and a comprehensive range of amenities, including a hairdryer (a top priority for us long-haired ladies!), a safe, an electric kettle, bathrobes, towels in three sizes, a comb, a shaving kit, a toothbrush, and even a ceramic sound-enhancing speaker.

The dressing table is equipped with white light bulbs, which are essential for makeup application. (Yellow light can be misleading, making it difficult to achieve the desired blush intensity. Stepping outside would reveal an excessively rosy complexion.) This meticulous attention to detail ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience for guests.

The back porch features a sofa for relaxation and conversation.

Let's take a look at the bathroom. The bathroom is luxurious, with well-organized space. All faucets have both hot and cold water, allowing you to adjust the temperature to your liking. The shower has both regular and rain shower options. The large Jacuzzi bathtub has a whirlpool system for a relaxing soak and massage.

The bathtub features a retractable curtain that allows for scenic views of the outdoors (or, for the truly daring, allows the outdoors to see in). The roof is made of transparent glass.

After a refreshing shower and a relaxing massage, we decided to grab a bite to eat at Pegge's Cove Resort. This resort boasts a charming restaurant and cafe situated right on the beachfront, offering stunning views and a delightful ambiance.

The beautifully decorated lobby of the hotel invites guests to check in to their rooms.

The brown-roofed building is the lobby. The hotel's front sign is right on the side of the road, so it's easy to spot.

The hotel's swimming pool and bar. If you don't want to swim in the sea and get sticky, you can swim in this pool.

Next to the lobby building is the Light House restaurant, where we will have dinner tonight. Adjacent to it on the left is the Coffee Cove cafe.

The interior is beautifully decorated, with eye-catching ceiling lamps designed to resemble fishing nets, in keeping with the fishing village concept.

Every corner is inviting, with adorable chairs.

And this is our dinner for today.

Seafood pizza is a thin-crust pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. It is generously topped with large shrimp and squid. The pizza is packed with shrimp, ensuring that every bite is bursting with seafood flavor.

The drink is a blended watermelon, refreshingly sweet and cold.

Crab fried rice and grilled pork neck served on the same plate, with a side salad and a delicious dipping sauce. The crab fried rice was packed with crab meat, and the grilled pork was perfectly seasoned. The flavors complemented each other perfectly.

The final dish was **crab curry spaghetti**, the rich curry sauce brimming with generous chunks of crab meat. Atop this delectable creation rested a perfectly cooked egg. The combination of the savory crab curry and the creamy egg yolk proved to be an absolute delight.

They ate so much that they could barely move.

After a satisfying breakfast, let's fill our bellies with another round of delicious Thai street food and head out for an exciting day of exploration.

Let's explore the captivating attractions of Chanthaburi province. Each destination is conveniently located near your accommodation, ensuring a quick and enjoyable journey.

Starting from

  • Khung Wiman Beach

It is located directly across from Peggy Cove Resort. Just cross the street and you will see it.

  • Queen's Hill Viewpoint

Just a kilometer drive from the accommodation, you will arrive. It is recommended to go in the evening to watch the beautiful sunset. However, on the day I went, there were too many clouds, and the sun disappeared behind the clouds.

  • Krong Hin Viewpoint

A large pile of rocks sits on the beach, about one kilometer from the accommodation. However, it is on the opposite side of the road from the Nang Phaya Hill. This pile of rocks is a beautiful place to take pictures at sunset (but we returned in the morning).

  • Kung Kraben Bay Development Study Center, Initiated by His Majesty the King

A multi-kilometer wooden bridge allows tourists to observe the diverse flora and fauna of the mangrove ecosystem. The bridge offers numerous picturesque spots for photography.

  • Taksin Bridge, also known as Laem Sing Bridge

  • Phlio National Park

The crystal-clear waterfall teemed with schools of stone-eating fish, their bodies the size of human legs. The playful creatures swam alongside visitors, creating a harmonious dance between humans and nature. This unique experience transformed a simple waterfall into an unforgettable aquatic playground.

  • Riverside Community of Chanthaburi

Experience the way of life of this riverside community. Enjoy delicious food and explore the classic, retro atmosphere along both sides of the road for about 1 kilometer.

  • The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
