As mentioned in the Mr. Lobster Hostel review entry (https://th.readme.me/p/12585), I have never traveled to Taiwan before. For hotel recommendations, I asked friends who had been there and read some reviews. Another recommended hotel is MUIU Inn Taipei Capsule Hotel.

As we will be traveling to Taichung the next day, we decided to move our hotel closer to Taipei Bus Station to avoid rushing in the morning. We noticed MUIU Inn, a capsule hotel we had stayed at in Vietnam, and decided to give it a try in Taipei. Therefore, we changed our hotel.

12th Floor: Location of MUIU Inn Lobby

MUIU Inn is located near Taipei Bus Station, behind Taipei Main Station. To get there, walk behind Taipei Main Station and look for the alley with McDonald's. Turn into the alley and continue walking until you see First Bank on the opposite side of the street. MUIU Inn is located on the 12th floor of the building across from the bank.

The MUIU Inn is located on the 10th to 12th floors, with the lobby on the 12th floor. This is also the floor where the communal dining area is located, which is larger than the Mr. Lobster restaurant. Similar to other hotels in Taipei, check-in is only available after 3:00 PM. We booked directly with the hotel instead of going through an agency, which allowed us to receive a special discount. This resulted in a lower price compared to booking through an agency.

Reception Beautiful and kind girl

While waiting to check in, we asked the friendly receptionist, N้องหมวย, to show us some of the hotel's rooms. As it was 12:00 p.m., most of the rooms were available for viewing.

The following is a translation of the provided text:

The common area is used as a dining room.

The common area serves as a dining room with free Wi-Fi access in all rooms on every floor. It also provides a 24-hour service of a photocopier, hot and cold water, tea, coffee, drinking water, and a refrigerator for guests to store snacks, milk, and butter. There is a library corner with travel books in various languages, including Thai. A vending machine for drinks and musical instruments are also available for guests who enjoy music. However, breakfast is not included. Guests can visit the Family Mart downstairs in front of the building or the Taiwanese breakfast restaurant next to the hotel building instead.

A small stage for music lovers to perform and enjoy.

**The communal kitchen offers complimentary drinks, including water, tea, and coffee, available 24 hours a day.**

A reading corner offering a wide selection of travel books about Taiwan in various languages.

Ambiance in the common area or dining room

Let's take a look at the different types of rooms that I photographed. However, it's important to note that MUIU Inn is a capsule hotel, which means that some amenities are shared. For example, the bathrooms are shared facilities, but they are separated by gender and there is a bathroom for people with disabilities. The security system is excellent, with keycard access required for each floor, from the main entrance to the individual rooms. CCTV cameras are also installed on every floor. Even though the bathrooms are shared, they have doors that close securely.

The room itself is not particularly spacious, just large enough to comfortably accommodate a bed and basic furnishings. However, the bed is very comfortable and the room is kept impeccably clean. To access the guest rooms on each floor, guests must change from their outdoor shoes into slippers provided by the hotel. Lockers are also available to store outdoor footwear. Similarly, when using the bathroom, designated bathroom slippers are provided for guests to change into at the entrance. Let's take a look inside.

Quadruple Room with Two Double Bunk Beds

The first room is designed for four guests and features two double beds stacked on top of each other. While the beds may be slightly small, they are clean and comfortable. The room is equipped with essential amenities such as a wardrobe, towels, toothbrushes, and tissues.

This room is for 3 guests with 3 single beds arranged in a row.

Each room and bed is equipped with a storage cabinet and a writing desk extension.

Empty space for placing items

Items provided in the room for your use, such as towels, toothbrushes, and tissues.

It has a small ledge that can be used as a writing surface.

The next room is for 4 people, but it has 2 bunk beds, which can accommodate 4 people in total.

Each bed has its own lighting system, as well as a dedicated space for writing and reading, featuring a small wooden desk that extends outwards.

The corridor between rooms is well-lit and aesthetically designed.

Twin Bunk Bed Room

The next room is a double room with two single beds stacked on top of each other. The room is big enough to fit the beds, a small cabinet for storing luggage and clothes, and other belongings.

Access the upper bunk with a sturdy ladder that can support a significant amount of weight.

The shared bathroom is spacious and well-maintained.

Double Room for 2 Guests

Each room has a window, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding neighborhood.

The bathroom is clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated. It is divided into separate shower and toilet areas, and there are enough bathrooms to accommodate all guests. Hairdryers are provided in the bathrooms. The bathroom usage time is clearly defined to avoid disturbing other guests.

In addition to its proximity to Taipei Bus Station, MUIU Inn is conveniently located near Ximending, a popular tourist destination often referred to as the "Siam Square" of Taipei. The inn is also within walking distance of Beimen Station on the MRT, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.

From a personal perspective, staying at the MUIU Inn Taipei Capsule Hotel is convenient and close to tourist attractions. Especially considering the price, it is reasonable. Moreover, if you contact the hotel directly, you will receive a greater discount than booking through agencies.

The reception staff provided excellent service and guidance, particularly in recommending travel destinations and offering luggage storage services. The hotel's registration system was efficient and clear, especially when traveling to other cities or waiting for flights. Luggage storage was a lifesaver, allowing us to travel without the burden of heavy luggage.

If you are interested in staying at the hotel, you can contact them through their website or email. If you mention that you were referred, you may be eligible for a discount.
