"Na Saran" Boutique Hotel: A Tranquil Oasis in the Heart of Chiang Mai

"Na Saran" is a newly opened boutique hotel in late 2017. This cozy hotel, located within the Chiang Mai Municipality, is a family-run business that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, reminiscent of staying at a relative's home.

I had the opportunity to stay at Na Saran during the middle of December 2017. I was very impressed with the hotel. I personally prefer to stay in small, locally-owned hotels rather than large chain hotels that are crowded with tourists. Na Saran gave me the feeling that I was truly experiencing the city. The owners of the hotel were very attentive and took care of me from morning until bedtime. I was so impressed that I wanted to share my experience with you.

Accommodation at Saran

This accommodation offers three room types. As we were a group of three, we stayed in the Family Room. The friendly hotel owner gave us a tour of the other two room types as well. Let's take a look:

  • Family Room: Features one king-size bed, one twin bed, and a living room. It's incredibly spacious.

The furniture and appliances are vintage, including the wardrobe, dressing table, and Bluetooth speaker.

The living room is clearly separated from the bedroom by a large curtain.

Upon entering the room, you will find a living room with a daybed for relaxing and watching TV. There is also a work desk where you can bring your laptop to catch up on any pending tasks. If the weather is pleasant, you can open the door and windows to enjoy the fresh air, making you feel right at home.

Free amenities include drinking water, a hot water kettle, tea-making equipment, and a selection of fragrant teas.

Ear plugs for those who desire ultimate silence while sleeping, along with a notebook for recording thoughts.


Upon discovering the bathroom, she shrieked.

Spacious and stunning, the luxurious bathtub features a window with blinds, allowing you to soak in the tub while enjoying the view.

Separate the bathtub, shower, toilet, and sink clearly.


Shampoos, shower gels, and lotions are also specially formulated with a distinctly Thai fragrance.

The bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer, so you don't need to bring your own.


  • Deluxe Twin Room


The rooms are similarly decorated, but lack a living room. Amenities are the same in all rooms.

The bathroom lacks a sink but has clearly defined areas.

All rooms are equipped with Bluetooth speakers and standard tea and coffee making facilities.


  • Deluxe Double Room

The only difference is the larger bed size.


Breakfast at Saran

The breakfast here is not a full buffet, as it aims to create a home-like atmosphere. Instead, it offers a daily menu with a selection of dishes, along with pastries, beverages, and other options to ensure a satisfying meal.

The menu includes omelets, fried rice with pork, and rice porridge with pork. You can order as many dishes as you like, and all the food is of high quality.

Lanna-style boutique atmosphere at Saran

The decor at N Saran is delightful, offering endless photo opportunities that will keep you captivated. The morning light casts beautiful shadows, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.

This is a bookshelf. It is placed in the hallway of each floor. Feel free to take a book and read it.


Art Activities at Saran

The hotel frequently offers activities for guests to participate in. On the day of my stay, there was an evening screening of the film IRIS, complete with snacks and refreshments. The breakfast room was transformed into a small cinema, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests were free to sit or lie down as they watched the film.

The hotel provided postcards as souvenirs before we left.

This place also offers shawls, woven with unique patterns exclusive to Na Saran.

"A Perfect Daughter" Cafe and Juice Bar at Saran

The hotel has recently updated its information, stating that a new cafe area has been opened in the lobby area at the end of the year. The cafe is called "A Perfect Daughter" Cafe and Juice Bar. It offers a variety of coffee and beverages to guests staying at the hotel.

Saran is located on Tung Hotel Road, Chiang Mai Municipality, next to Charoen Muang Road, which leads to Tha Pae Gate.

Located just 1 km from the Rim Ping Road, home to popular restaurants such as Good View, Wiang Kum On, Khao Soi Samoei Jai, and Khao Soi Fa Ham, the hotel is conveniently situated 2 km from Chiang Mai Bus Terminal, 3 km from Tha Pae Gate, and 10 km from Chiang Mai Airport. The hotel's location is easy to find, even for car rental companies, who can arrange pick-up or drop-off at the hotel.
