This weekend, I embarked on a quest to find the perfect spot for a day of relaxation and rejuvenation. While venturing outside the city was tempting, I opted to explore the hidden treasures within Bangkok's bustling streets.

After a quick search on Google, I stumbled upon Lhong 1919, a newly-discovered haven for photography enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil escape. Situated along the majestic Chao Phraya River, this historical landmark offers a unique blend of cultural charm and modern vibrancy.

Lhong 1919, once a bustling trading port, has been transformed into a vibrant hub of art galleries, cafes, and shops. The beautifully preserved architecture, with its intricate details and weathered walls, provides a picturesque backdrop for capturing memories.

As I strolled through the cobblestone pathways, the gentle breeze carried the scent of freshly brewed coffee and the sound of laughter from nearby cafes. The river glistened under the warm afternoon sun, inviting me to pause and appreciate the simple beauty of the moment.

The next day, I showered, got dressed, and slung my camera over my shoulder. I took the MRT to Hua Lamphong Station (number 8), exited at exit 4, and then took a bus to Yaowarat. I walked another 450 meters to the Sawadi Pier, where I took a ferry across the river to Wat Thong Thammachat Pier. From there, it was a short walk to Lhong 1919.

The Lhong 1919 is a 168-year-old historical landmark that blends Thai and Chinese architectural styles. It has been meticulously restored to preserve its original beauty. In addition to the historic "San Hea Yuan" building, the Lhong 1919 also features a variety of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions.

The number 1919 refers to the year 1919 AD, when the current landowners, the Wang Lee family, took over the area from the Pisalbut family.

Additionally, the three aspects of Mazu have been enshrined at the Leng Buai 1919 Shrine for over 167 years (from the reigns of King Rama IV to King Rama X). She has brought prosperity, happiness, and wealth to the families of her caretakers throughout history. ⛩️ Moreover, the shrine is located in a very powerful location. The front faces the Chao Phraya River, while the back is surrounded by buildings, resembling mountains. There is a wide courtyard in the center, similar to a dragon's belly, further enhancing wealth and abundance. The Mazu Shrine is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
