“Where can we go on weekends… besides Hua Hin, Pattaya, and Khao Yai?” This is a question that we two often talk about because we are busy with our regular jobs on weekdays and can only travel on weekends. This time, we decided to go to “Chanthaburi.” Honestly, when we actually went there, we were like, “Wow!” It’s close to Bangkok and has everything (it’s on the coast, has waterfalls, historical sites, great communities, and the food is cheap and delicious). It’s a province that we definitely need to find an opportunity to visit again. So, let’s go on an adventure with 10 fun check-ins in Chanthaburi :D
This trip, we stayed at the @Peggy's Cove Resort, a colorful resort modeled after the fishing village of Peggy's Cove in Canada. The resort also has a restaurant and fun activities, including making your own tie-dye shirt.

Let's take a look at the atmosphere in the pictures. Now you're probably eager to join the trip, right? So, let's check out the destinations one by one: 1. Peggy's Cove Resort.
Our first stop was our accommodation, which we checked into upon arrival in Chanthaburi. The lodging was charming, especially for those who appreciate pastel colors. Each cottage featured a water pond and wooden bridges connecting them, reminiscent of a Canadian fishing village.

8. The Unique Dessert Community by the Nong Bua Canal
This is an ancient community, where everything from the houses and food to the people themselves feels steeped in history. It's hard to say which of these three aspects is the most ancient. They have some bizarrely named snacks, but that's just their style - straightforward and honest, like the people themselves. :D Most importantly, ***bring a wad of cash (20 baht bills)*** because their food is incredibly cheap! You can find things for as little as 5-10 baht each!

Banana with syrup: Be careful when you buy it because the syrup might burst and spill on your hands. It's incredibly delicious.
Let's take a look at the remaining atmosphere.
- Light House Restaurant
After a light snack, it's time to get serious with our meal at Light House restaurant, a charming establishment decorated in a fisherman's style and conveniently located within the Peggy's Cove Hotel where we are staying.
- Riverside Restaurant, Chanthaburi
Visiting Chanthaburi offers a complete experience, both in terms of sightseeing and dining. As Chanthaburi is home to a large fishing community, we decided to end our trip with a delicious seafood feast at Ruean Rim Nam Chanthaburi (a 2018 Wongnai user's choice award winner).
