For my wife's birthday, we decided to go to Pattaya. Sure we could have gone to nicer beaches or islands but it's close by and we only had 1 night to spare. So Pattaya was the appropriate choice.

Normally, people go there for nightlife but this time we wanted to avoid the Walking street, bars and all that.

Where to stay? Well, we came across Royal Cliff Hotels on hotels.com and were quite impressed with the photos, facilities and overall value. Afterall, it is has won over 200 awards and exudes Thai hospitality.

After staying there for 1 night we would like to share 4 reasons that you should also consider staying there.

1. They have FOUR different hotels on the property

Yes, you heard us right. Four! It's a massive property area with different kinds of hotels.

  • Beach Terrace - Exotic luxury. Beachfront suites suited best for families and couples (honeymooners).
  • Grand Hotel - Formal luxury. Ideal for both work or relaxation for mostly business travelers,
  • Royal Wing Suites and Spa - a place for ultimate luxury with massive suites like the presidential suite. As the name suggests, it is for the elite.

We stayed at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel.

3. Swimming pools

Each property have their own swimming pool, or two. You also have beach views from the pools so that is a plus. Take the view from Beach hotel for example, it is awesome. It was one of the main reason we decided to stay here.

Unfortunately, it was so hot we didn't go swim and in the evening it was quite crowded!

Here's one at another property at Royal Cliff.

2. So many restaurants to eat at

You will be spoiled for choices when it comes to dining at Royal Cliff. They have everything from seafood and intercontinental buffets to Indian and Chinese cuisines. In total they have 15 restaurants and 6 bars!

We had our dinner at Breezeo, their newest restaurant by the seaside. They have a good selection cocktails here and food is fusion that includes pastas, burgers, tapas, BBQ and such items.

3. Lots of facilities

There are plenty of facilities and leisurely activities to take part in at Royal Cliff. So many so, 1 night is definitely not enough to experience them.

On the property, they a massive Fitz Club with 7 tennis courts, 2 squash courts and a gym.

In addition, you'll find a spa, a beauty salon, business center, wine club, kids world, and a shopping arcade. We didn't get to see ANY of these things to be honest. We would definitely go back.

All of these things combines, Royal Cliff is like a mini city. You probably don't want to leave. If you want local food or drinks, just walk down the private beach a bit and you will find some options. Also there are independent vendors selling activities such as kayaking or a speed boat trip to nearby islands.
