As the rainy season arrives, heavy downpours once again pose a challenge to travel plans. Therefore, I've decided to revisit an old review from the rainy season last year.

With my poor English skills and even less money in my pocket, I still dream of traveling abroad.

With the world map spread out, all that's left is the ASEAN region. Where should we go? ???

Penang is a good choice. There are many reviews and it's easy to find information.

When the desire to travel abroad but the price is like traveling in Thailand, it skyrockets.

Coupled with the fact that Singto released a promotional ticket to Hat Yai at a price cheaper than a Korean BBQ buffet.

It was perfect timing, as if she knew what we were thinking. So, without hesitation, we took our younger brother on his first-ever outing with his siblings.

This trip has everything planned out, so I'm confident it will be the smoothest trip I've ever taken.

However, when the actual time came, the information that had been prepared was not enough. Many things were forgotten, and many places were missed.

I didn't get to try everything, taking photos here and there as I felt like it. And then I stumbled upon some things by chance in various places.

DAY1 : August 5, 2015

We took the 9:50 a.m. flight because we were too lazy to wake up early. How's that for a burst of wanderlust?

But I rushed to the airport before 9 am because I was scared of the last time with Singto at the far gate that I had to run 100 meters.

Like Usain Bolt, I sprinted to the Final Call, panting and out of breath.

As you approach Hat Yai, you'll be greeted by stunning views of mountains and the sea.

In this view, we are sitting in the 33rd row because we want the crispy wing tips, dipped in chicken sauce. Wrong!!! Because we want the wing tips.

I didn't want the view to be too open, but I had to avoid the edge of the window a bit. On the way back, I booked row 34 and I think this will be my regular seat on other flights as well.

I arrived at Hat Yai Airport later than scheduled. From the plan to be a budget backpacker.

To catch the 12:30 van, I had to take a taxi after riding a songthaew. The taxi fare was

250 baht to go to Hat Yai city center? Oh, what about the meter? Why do you have a meter?

It took about 5 hours from Hat Yai, passing through the immigration checkpoint into Malaysia, and then onto the expressway. I kept falling asleep and waking up again.

It means that our destination is not far away.

The van driver dropped everyone off, with me being the last one at the Tune Downtown Penang Hotel. I then pressed the elevator button to go up to the lobby on the 2nd floor.

But I was annoyed for half a day by the accent and speaking speed of the hotel staff. Let me tell you.

The room we booked is a double bed room with no TV, no windows, no Wi-Fi, and a fan. Air conditioning can be purchased for an additional 24 hours, and bathroom amenities are included.

I didn't check the opening hours or closing days when I read the reviews, but now the picture in front of me is very empty.

This street has a cake shop. The seller is very good, smiling sweetly through the glass outside the shop. I'm so excited.

I couldn't bring myself to raise my camera and take a picture through the glass at the counter at the back of the store, so I just turned to my brother and said,

They say that when you're in Penang, you can't miss "Char Kway Teow". We ordered one plate for 5.8 ringgit for my younger brother.

Because we just had our fill of onigiri that we stocked up on from 7-11 at Don Mueang.

Hellooooo, what is this? This soggy stir-fried noodle is famous? You're kidding me.

After finishing eating, the rain started to pour down. We ran, walked, jumped, and dodged the rain, entering alleys and exiting buildings.

It's like playing Hugo with P'Mo, except there's no travel information... and no umbrella either.

I walked until I found a group of Thai people, so I secretly followed them until I ended up at a 7-Eleven on Julia Street.

As the drizzle began to subside, our eyes caught sight of something on the opposite bank. Heaven had smiled upon us.

Like a light at the end of the tunnel, hey!!! That's Lok Lok, we ran to the front of the shop at high speed.

Lok Lok is a dish consisting of various meats, vegetables, meatballs, and tofu, all skewered on sticks.

The price of each color of wood will be different. Pick it up and dip it in the pot, then pour the dipping sauce.

There are three dipping sauces. One is a dark black color. I don't know what it is, and no one seems to be touching it, so I didn't eat it either.

And then there's the red one, which is a little spicy, like a touch of chili paste.

And then the satay sauce, we ate the red one mixed with the satay pork. It was delicious.

We picked and dipped with joy, as if we were running through a field of lavender. But when it came time to pay the bill,

But we are two children who were born and raised in a province in the southern part of Isan that has a blue football team.

And there are fried pork ball shops scattered at almost every electric pole, where you can get full with just a 20 baht note.

It was one of the most excruciating early mornings ever, because we accidentally booked a flight from Hat Yai back to Bangkok at 5 pm.

I thought I could catch the 12.00 (Malaysian time) van back from Penang, but the KST staff told me it would be better to go back at 8.00.

At the House of Journey, there is free tea and coffee available all day. In the morning, there will be bread and jam available at 7 am.

After finishing eating, I sat and waited for the van to pick me up at the hotel. I'm really going back now.
