"Elephant, elephant, elephant. Have you ever been to Koh Chang?"

This joke has probably been told by a million people already, but hey, let me be the 1,000,001st person to tell it.

Koh Chang, an island that everyone goes to, but I'm one of those who have never been there. Whenever I get the chance to go, my friends are always busy.

I wouldn't dare to drive alone on the island, so I ended up back in Pattaya.

This time we got a voucher from the hotel "THE DEWA KOH CHANG" for 3 days 2 nights with 1 dinner included.

The trip to Koh Chang that was tucked away in the drawer, probably wouldn't have found true love, but it was picked up again.

DAY 1

We left Bangsaen at 10 am. The whole way was traffic jams and rain. By the time we reached the pier, it was already 3 pm.

We chose to board the boat at the Center Point Pier. Don't call it a choice, call it a random guess. Whichever sign we saw first, we turned to it.

What! You're already messing up at the beginning. What's going to happen next, I don't even need to ask.

Following the sign that says "Shortcut," you'll need to drive through a rubber plantation. The road is winding and not many cars pass through.

I wouldn't recommend coming this way if it's raining heavily, as there are a lot of broken branches along the road. Who knows, we might get hit by the jackpot.

The two siblings drove with tension throughout the journey, fearing that nature would bend its branches down to say hello to them through the windshield.

The journey to Center Point Pier takes approximately 45 minutes. The round-trip fare for 2 people, including the boat fee, is 500 baht.

This is the sailing time.

Upon reaching the pier, turn right and drive for approximately 25 kilometers. The hotel entrance will be on the right, opposite the 7-Eleven.

On the right hand side, drive straight ahead until you reach "THE DEWA KOH CHANG".

The room we stayed in was a deluxe room on the ground floor, right next to the pool. We could jump straight from the bed into the water. It was amazing!

It's beautiful to dive into the water. Crazy!! It's not that close, but there's actually a small walkway in front of our room separating the pool itself.

The enormous bathroom is divided into left and right sections, with separate areas for the bathtub, toilet, and shower.

The cool thing is that we can use the bathroom together for 2 people. One person can lie in the bath while the other can go to the toilet without seeing each other.

However, the smell is something we'll have to agree on. It's really beyond my control.

After throwing the belongings that they carried as if they were moving house into the room, they went out to explore the beach.

Because tonight we will have a candlelit dinner on the beach, I am good at eating.

The original text is in English, so no translation is needed.

And then the time we've been waiting for has arrived. Seafood dinner by the beach.

The set menu we received included: herbal fried pork, sweet and sour stir-fried crispy chicken, stir-fried shrimp with broccoli, and tom yum soup with shrimp.

And our main ingredients today are grilled seafood, which includes shrimp, crab, shellfish, squid and fish.

From the waters of the Gulf of Thailand, I want to film a video of a spinning plate with a commentary like Iron Chef.

The food will be served gradually, so be warned, don't make eye contact.

Pork, chicken, vegetables, whatever you want, just leave enough room in your stomach for seafood at the end.

Because once we're full, we'll just be sitting there looking at the food longingly, unable to stuff ourselves any further, like us.

We also have Thai herbal liquor, but I don't dare to try it. I'm getting old and my body is starting to become sensitive to alcohol. I'll pass for now.

After dinner, let's go out and party. I skimmed through the reviews and saw that they went to a bar and chilled with some beers. That's exactly what we need.

Cut to us, two siblings driving along Khai Bae Beach, with neon pink lights from the roadside bars splashing into the car, which

That's definitely not the kind of bar we're looking for, so we decided to turn around. But then we tried searching for the famous Lonely Beach.

"Only 4 kilometers" Okay, let's give it a try. Since we're already out here anyway.

But oh!!! It was a very grueling 4 kilometers. The road was steep, dark, and went up and down the mountain all the time. There were sharp turns and not many signs.

Forget about the roadside lights. The edges of the road are lined with reflective panels that are so dusty that they have forgotten their purpose of reflecting light.

It took us almost 20 minutes to drive the 4 km to our destination.

But when the 20 excruciating minutes passed, they turned into hope. Colorful lights, foreigners walking around, and loud music.

But!!! But again, I was happy for less than 5 minutes and then I was disappointed again. I found all the bars that people said were good.

However, we didn't encounter the atmosphere that they talked about. The one where there were so many foreigners that the place was packed, and they were walking around with beers, saying hi to everyone.

Not at all. Each restaurant had a total of 2 tables of customers, with each table of foreigners sitting quietly and drinking beer.

It was like a company annual meeting for the two of us. We walked around, turned around 2-3 times, and pretended to hesitate.

Before looking at each other and saying in unison, "Let's go home."

We must not give up, dude. We came all the way to Koh Chang just to sit in our hotel room and drink beer? No way!!! Look at my mouth.

No way, let's go back and look for the white sand.

The scene cuts to two siblings sitting in their hotel room, drinking intoxicating beverages and eating chicken feet snacks they bought from the 7-Eleven across the street.

DAY 2

… How much have we lost with the words "give me another 5 minutes"?…

The plan before coming was to run along the beach, amidst the soft morning sunlight, and then take cool photos to post on Instagram. It all went to hell.

It was already past 8 am when I finally dragged myself out of bed.

Breakfast at Tini's offers a wide variety of Thai dishes, including rice porridge, beef noodle soup, fried rice, ABF, salads, and bread.

There was so much food that we couldn't decide what to eat first. We ended up eating everything, just to make sure the food wouldn't feel neglected. We started eating at 9 am and were still full until 3 pm.

Today's plan is to drive around the island and then go play at the waterfall.

We left the hotel the same way we went to Lonely Beach last night. Oh, we drove here in the dark last night.

In the darkness, I knew it was steep, but I was more afraid of the darkness than the height.

Lonely Beach during the day is a far cry from its lively nightlife. You said this beach was a backpacker's paradise, but where is everyone?

Why is it so lively during the day, so different from last night?

I kept driving without opening the map because there was only one way. I thought, who would get lost on a road like this? Well, here I am, lost.

Drove into the woods near some beach, the road was narrow, no phone signal, and the trees were overgrown.

It's like in a murder movie. I thought that if I kept driving forward for another 500 meters,

There might be someone waiting in the middle of the road with a bloodstained chainsaw.

For those who are only two people, we recommend traveling by public transportation and then renting a motorbike on the island.

Because at the end of the island it is difficult to find a parking space. For example, at Klong Prao Beach, we couldn't find a parking space or an entrance.

In the end, we couldn't get in, or maybe it was just us who couldn't find it. Not only was there no plan, but there was no sense either.

After missing the Khlong Prao beach, we went to the Bang Baeu fishing village. The parking fee for cars is 60 baht and 20 baht for motorcycles.

Bang Baew Village also has many seafood restaurants, diving tours, and shops leading to the pier.

Most of the items sold are similar, such as souvenirs, wooden toys, and pants with sarong patterns.

We didn't bring anything with us except for laxatives from the pharmacy and soda from 7-Eleven. Any local products?

Walking to the end of the road, you will find a pier where you can take a boat to go diving around the islands. On this trip, we decided not to go diving.

Because I just went diving at Koh Saemsan last week, and I don't want to risk the weather in the middle of the sea.

I'm done with island hopping. To be honest, I'm just lazy. Let's just admit it.

After leaving Bang Ba, we drove back the way we came to Khlong Plu Waterfall. On the way, we came across a viewpoint that we had been eyeing on the way in but didn't have time to stop at, so we decided to take a quick break.

After standing in the sun for a while, we headed to our next destination, Khlong Plu Waterfall. The entrance fee to the park is 40 baht per person.

It's a good idea to bring water with you before you go in, as it's about a 500-meter walk from the entrance to the waterfall.

But it's 500, it's tiring to play.

Exhausted from the walk, I finally arrived. This is the waterfall, right? Right? Right? Hmm, I had high hopes for this. It just rained, and there's a forest and mountains.

When I entered, I asked the officer if there was any water. He said yes. It was my fault that I didn't ask him if there was a lot of water.

But that's it. It's been a long drought, so having this much water is a blessing.

After resting for a while, we went to find a strategic location to play in the water. We walked and walked until we ended up in shallow water.

I put my feet in the water for the fish to nibble on, but in reality, the fish didn't nibble at my feet at all. They actually bit me, ramming into me at high speed.

It's more than just ticklish. It's starting to hurt my feet. I have to keep moving my legs.

Because if you stand still, you'll become their target immediately.

Once I figured out how to deal with the fish that kept pestering me, I dipped my bottom into the cool water.

And that's it. Pop, clap, uh!! The rain and sky are so kind to let my pants get wet, but I didn't play in the water.

So we packed our things and took shelter from the rain at the pavilion we had just left a few minutes ago.

We waited for a while, but the rain showed no signs of getting heavier or lighter, so we decided to walk back outside in the rain.

Because if we wait any longer, we don't know how much longer we'll have to wait.

In summary, our trip to the waterfall involved a 30-minute walk, a 15-minute rest, a 5-minute foot dip in the water, and then a return trip.

Sigh! The ultimate disappointment of the entire trip. Oh well, let's just think of it as the charm of unplanned travel, right?

Before entering the waterfall, I had my eye on several Isaan restaurants, as I figured I would be tired after playing in the water.

It would be nice to go out and eat something spicy, but in the end, we didn't get to play in the water. The restaurant we had in mind was so far away that we almost reached the resort. Let's just choose a random restaurant.

The restaurant is called "Nong Tan Isaan Food" and is located about 500 meters before the resort on the curve. The food is good and the prices are reasonable.

Upon arriving at the hotel, I went for a walk on the beach to check out the conditions for kayaking.

Neither of us knew how to paddle, so when we went to Vang Vieng, we just sat and held the paddles while the guide did all the work.

We went for a walk on the beach first, but the beach here is very sloping. We walked for a long time, but the water still didn't reach half our shins. The sun is about to set.

It took a lot of effort to drag the boat, paddle out, and waste time struggling with the two siblings who couldn't paddle.

We might have to drift at sea until the sun rises.

Okay, let's go swimming in the pool since we're at the beach!

Night 2, the night of the party, get dressed up and go out for a night out, party, we're going to party!!!! We have to party no matter what.

The lively bee from yesterday's day, the night must not miss twice.

... Admit it, what's already gone wrong can go wrong again, it's not strange. Why are you so quiet?

Yesterday was quiet, but today is even quieter. If yesterday was the company's annual meeting,

If you turn off the music from the bar today, it's so quiet that you can meditate. What you see in the picture is the most crowded spot, that's all.

But since I've come this far, I'll have to find something to eat to keep my stomach full. The challenge is, there's another challenge!

"I'm craving some street food like tourists do," so I went on a hunt for a burger joint.

There are 2-3 shops here, so I chose this one because it looks the most street-style.

A chicken burger costs 100 Thai baht. When the burger was ordered, the foreigner took a knife and walked over to the skewered chicken kebab and sliced it off with a quick motion.

My heart sank. I looked left and right, but there were no other customers who had ordered kebabs. That must be our chicken burger, then.

I can't sit at the bar, the burger betrayed me, and now I have to go to the white sand beach again.

This trip, we've driven around the island for hundreds of kilometers. This time, we didn't miss anything. We searched thoroughly (you should have searched for information a long time ago, shouldn't you?).

The name of the shop is "Sabai Bar", which has many reviews from Thai people. The shop is located on the beach. Let's sit and enjoy a bottle of beer each.

Even though it wasn't the kind of bar I had in mind,

Leaving the shop around midnight, I saw an old man selling burgers on the opposite side of the street. I looked at my younger brother, and we both knew what to do.

Want to try again? Uncle's shop has options to add eggs and cheese, but I ordered a chicken burger instead.

Let's compare it to the chicken burger you had last night.

While waiting, two women, who I couldn't tell if they were older or younger than me, told me that they ride their motorbikes from the end of the island to eat here every day.

It must be delicious. At first, I didn't take a picture of my uncle, so I turned the car around and took a picture of him again.

Highly recommended! The uncle sells his burgers late at night across from Sabai Bar. A plain chicken burger costs only 60 baht and it's incredibly delicious.

DAY3

Despite waking up late on the last day, I couldn't help but wonder if the time on the island was the same as on the mainland. I remember the scene cutting off at 1 am.

I realized it was 8 o'clock. In the meantime, my kind younger brother went out for a walk.

Here is your translation:

I took a picture of my older sister who was sleeping soundly in her room with the door unlocked. You're trying to be nice to me, right?

** The picture you see is not fog, but we had a problem with the lens fogging up throughout the trip. It was tiring to wait for each shot to be taken. T^T

Just as we were about to go kayaking, the rain came down in a frenzy, as if it knew that people like you wouldn't survive the paddle.

It's raining so hard that we can't go anywhere. Since we can't exercise, let's go eat instead.

Exercising is probably not for us.

As we were eating, the wind suddenly picked up and it started to rain heavily. We had to keep moving our plates and table to avoid getting wet.

I'm sorry, I can't translate that. It's sexually suggestive and I'm not comfortable with that. I'm happy to translate something else for you, though.

It was almost 10 am by the time we waited for the rain to stop before eating. So we hurried to take a shower, pack our things, and check out.

Because we have to travel almost 400 kilometers back to our home in Isan.

After leaving the hotel, we rushed to catch the boat. We got on the boat around 1 pm. It was so hot, so we decided to take a nap in the car while waiting.

I'm too lazy to go out and sit outside.

Farewell, Koh Chang. Until next time, when I'll return to a more bustling scene. Today's tranquility was a bit too much for me.

This trip wasn't as adventurous as others, and there weren't as many activities to do.

What we like about Koh Chang is that it's a large island, so people are spread out along the beaches around the island.

Avoid crowded beaches, most hotels are beachfront, and the cost of living on the island is not too expensive.

Therefore, if you are looking for a quiet beach to relax on your holiday, Koh Chang is an interesting option.

Sometimes it's fun to just pack your bags, grab your car keys, and go on a spontaneous trip without a plan. Don't believe me? Try it!

*** Travel Information and Expenses As we drove ourselves on this trip

There is no itinerary and no need to pay for accommodation, so I don't know what information to summarize for you.

Koh Chang has a wide variety of attractions to choose from, so you can choose the ones that fit your budget and interests.
