Phetchaburi's Lo Sue Waterfall, also known as Pitukroh, is the highest waterfall in Thailand. It is located in the western forest of Umphang District, Tak Province, near the Burmese border.

The journey takes about 10 hours from Bangkok, passing through 1,219 curves between Mae Sot and Umphang districts to Kuy Le O Tae village. If you get carsick easily, it's recommended to take motion sickness medication or sleeping pills. Otherwise, you might end up throwing up. For those who don't get carsick, the scenic views along the way are worth the journey.

***The path to this waterfall requires traversing all types of terrain. Don't worry about getting your feet dirty, because you definitely will. You'll be wading through water, mud, and everything in between for the entire 4-5 hour hike. So go all out, the dirtier you get, the more experience you'll have.

The first part of the trail will take you through local farms, rice fields, cornfields, across streams, through creeks, under trees, and through muddy fields. Then you will enter a humid forest, which is very refreshing.

On the first day, we won't find the heart yet. We will set up camp by the waterfall, wash our faces, play in the waterfall, and feel very refreshed. Then we will eat dinner and go to sleep to prepare for the next day. On the morning of the second day, we will set out to find the heart and climb to the top of Doi Mamuang Sam Wan, a viewpoint above the waterfall. Today we will pack lunch to eat on top of the mountain.

Walking out of the camp and up to the heart, you will find a large waterfall that flows from the top of the mountain, resembling a heart. It is very beautiful. Just seeing it makes you feel refreshed. Then it's time to take pictures until your heart's content.

Then continue on to the top of Doi Mamuang Sam Wan, a viewpoint above the waterfall. The path climbs the cliff face all the way, giving you a thrill all the way to the top, which is like a large open space. The wind is very strong and the view around is very beautiful.

And then we took ourselves to the "Heart of the Mountains".

On the first day, we won't encounter the heart yet. We'll set up camp by the waterfall, wash our faces, play in the waterfall, and feel the cool and refreshing evening. Then we'll have dinner and go to sleep to prepare for the next day. On the morning of the second day, we'll set out to find the heart and climb to the top of Doi Mamuang Sam Wan, a viewpoint above the waterfall. Today, we'll pack lunch to eat on top of the mountain.

After enjoying lunch and the view from the top, we made our way back down to the camp for another night's stay (on this second day, the round trip hike to the camp took about 7-8 hours, which was quite tiring). It was time to say goodbye to the heart of the river for now, but if time and opportunity allow, we may meet again.

This trip is suitable for those who love adventure and are physically fit. You should be able to eat simple food, sleep in basic accommodations, and be comfortable going to the bathroom outdoors. You should also be prepared to get dirty and have strong legs. If you have some experience with hiking, this trip is for you. If you think you're ready, pack your bags and get ready to go on an adventure with us. The rewards are well worth the time and effort.
