Day 2

EP.1 "Doi Suthep Temple"

The morning journey from The Home Chiang Mai Hostel to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep covers a distance of approximately 17 kilometers.

The journey takes approximately 10-15 minutes by car. To get there, drive along Huay Kaew Road, passing the Central Festival Chiang Mai shopping mall and Chiang Mai University. Continue driving until you reach the Kru Srivichai Monument (located on the left-hand side). Follow the main road and you will arrive at your destination.

Phra Khru Ba Siwichai Pavilion

The path leading up to the Phra That is always crowded.

After climbing the 300 steps of the naga staircase, you will reach Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.

Built in 1926, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a significant tourist destination in Chiang Mai. It holds the status of a royal temple of the third class and is situated on Doi Suthep (approximately 3,051 feet above sea level). The temple's beauty attracts tourists who come to pay respects, make offerings, and admire its magnificence. A cable car service is available to ascend and descend Doi Suthep between 5:30 AM and 7:30 PM.

It is believed that worshipping and praying at Phra That Doi Suthep will bring success, fulfillment of wishes, and protection from obstacles. To pay respects, prepare glutinous rice, flowers, incense, and candles. Walk around the chedi three times clockwise while reciting a prayer. Make a wish and pay homage to the chedi from all four directions, each offering different blessings.

- May the north be blessed with wisdom like the full moon.

- South, may you become a Buddhist monk and be ordained in the noble Buddhist religion.

- May the east wind grant you access to heaven.

- The west direction is the highest respect for the relics.

The area surrounding Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is adorned with statues of Buddha, Nagas, and Ganesha.

The right side of the pagoda offers a scenic viewpoint overlooking the city of Chiang Mai.

It is recommended to visit early in the morning before the sun rises to witness the stunning sea of mist.

After visiting the temple, we recommend stopping by a small restaurant on the left side of the entrance for a delicious bowl of Khao Soi, a traditional Northern Thai dish featuring rich and flavorful chicken or pork curry broth over rice noodles.

Coffee trucks are available along the way.

Our next stop is to check in at Le SIRI at Ruamchok.

Day 2

EP.2 "Le SIRI at Ruamchok"

The SIRI at Ruamchok is located just past the Ruamchok-Mechai intersection. When you reach the Ruamchok-Mechai intersection, drive towards the 700th Anniversary Stadium City Hall. Go straight and make a U-turn at the first U-turn. Drive about 200 meters and you will see a sign for the accommodation. The accommodation is located behind the commercial building. There is parking available under the building.

The ground floor houses the guest reception area and a portion of the dining room. Guest rooms are located on floors 2 through 5.

The accommodation was lovely and welcoming, treating us like family. We received coupons for breakfast and New Year's snacks.

Along the walkway to the rooms.

The room I stayed in, 510, was high enough to offer a view of the mountains.

The room is decorated in contrasting white and gray tones, creating a visually pleasing and relaxing atmosphere. The floor is finished with laminate.

The room features a comfortable double bed, offering ample space and amenities.

This sofa corner is my favorite. I can enjoy the beautiful view from the accommodation. It's good for the admin's heart.

Bathroom corner

The room is equipped with a TV and a mini-fridge.

The hotel provides WIFI services in accordance with hotel standards.

The front of the building features a guest reception area, while the first floor houses the dining room.

Hand-woven silk fabrics are available for purchase at the front of the hotel. These high-quality fabrics are made for export to Japan. The intricate and beautiful designs are sure to impress as gifts.

Tourist attractions near the accommodation Central festival Chiangmai, Walking Street Ruamchok (every Monday and Tuesday)

Day 2

EP.3 "Mon Ing Dao"

Mon Ing Dao requires a car journey to Mae Rim district (the same route as Doi Mon Cham). The distance is approximately 36.8 kilometers, with a travel time of about 1 hour. The entire route is a winding uphill climb with wind from the mountain pass, providing a cool breeze throughout the drive.

Hello, Mon Ing Dao.

The surrounding area offers camping spots for tourists.

The breathtaking view of the cold weather has already made the admin feel refreshed. For today, we have to travel back to our accommodation before nightfall, as the road down will be difficult to navigate in the evening.
