"Take a break and 'chill' hard, shall we?"

If you're looking for a 'chill' and 'complete' travel destination, then 'Nan' is the first place that comes to mind.

...The verdant hues of the fields, the gentle breeze, and the fresh air are all good for the soul. ❤ That's why we often have to make an effort to 'get out of the house' and seek out nature.

Wouldn't it be nice to take a break from work, relax, and breathe in the fresh air? Chiang Klang, a small district nestled amidst the mountains, seems like the perfect destination to experience the simple joys of life.

It all started... right here!

Our recent road trip in pursuit of cool breezes and misty mountains took us from Bangkok to Chiang Rai. As we make our way back, we've decided to spend a night or two in Chiang Klang before returning home.

From the trip CHIANG RAI ป้ายหน้า | หลงไปในสายหมอก (Review 1 Doi and 4 Dream Mountains) that I posted earlier (If you haven't read it yet, click here... I guarantee you'll love it)

...The trip isn't over yet. We left our accommodation at Phu Chi Fa and continued on to Chiang Klang District, Nan Province, using Route 1148. It's not a difficult drive, there are few houses, and there aren't many gas stations. But it's a road with stunning scenery along the way, so much so that you'll definitely want to stop and take some pictures. ❤

MAGIC VIEW at MAGIC MOUNTAIN CAFE'

CHECK-IN #1

Nestled amidst the breathtaking vistas of "Pha Chang Noi," a captivating landmark at Phu Langka Resort, also known as Phu Langka Baan Suan, lies a newly unveiled haven for coffee enthusiasts. This two-story café, strategically perched amidst the majestic mountains, beckons travelers to pause and savor the moment. As you sip on a steaming cup of rich, aromatic coffee, the panoramic views will leave you spellbound.

: : Magic Mountain Cafe' is situated at a strategic location on a bend of Route 1148, inviting passing drivers to take a break and stretch their tired legs. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. Although this time I didn't have the chance to experience the misty fog gently caressing the cliffs of Chang Noi with my own eyes, I was still able to fully appreciate the breathtaking natural scenery without any obstructions.

Behold! The origin of... authentic ten-baht coffee with million-dollar views. ☕☕☕

The view from this spot is quite unique, with campsites springing up along the mountainside, offering an alternative for travelers who want to spend their mornings amidst the mist near 'Little Elephant Cliff'.

The journey is not difficult. Take the Chiang Rai route, passing through Chiang Kham District, Phayao Province, and then head straight to Pong District (Highway 1148). Magic Mountain will be on the right, at the curve before Phulangkari Resort.

Coordinates: 19.356336, 100.511177

We have reached the halfway point of our journey. The road ahead continues to wind its way through the mountains, transitioning from Highway 1148 to Highway 1097. After a significant stretch of driving, we connect to a rural highway leading to Chiang Klang District. The total driving time is approximately 3.5 hours, covering a distance of 171 kilometers.

CHIANG KLANG ❤ MINIMALIST ROMANTIC CITY

CHECK IN #2

Chiang Klang is a small district nestled amidst mountains, offering a laid-back atmosphere with an exceptionally high level of relaxation. Whether it's accommodation, attractions, or dining, Chiang Klang has something for everyone. While accommodation options are limited compared to the city center, the available choices are highly appealing. If you're planning a trip, Chiang Klang is definitely worth a visit.

Nan Province gives us the feeling that time is slowly passing by. Everything is calm and peaceful, yet full of details of the people, smiles, houses, shops, markets, and Saeng Thong Resort also makes us feel like we are letting everything go, allowing us to truly relax. Inside the resort, it is lush with gardens, flowering plants, and green vegetable plots. Plus, it's even more relaxing when you can sit and look at the rice fields, almost golden in color. The view is amazing... next to Saeng Thong Terrace itself.

Coordinates: 19.288307, 100.869136

This page is about tourism in (late December). The main product, rice, has already been harvested. The green, plump rice stalks that we hope to see are therefore not there. However, the charm of Chiang Klang is not lost. The mountain scenery and the backdrop of the villagers' agricultural plots serve as a substitute.

To witness fields brimming with lush rice paddies, one must visit during the late rainy season. However, as the evening approaches, the land is bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun, creating a breathtaking spectacle that rivals the beauty of the verdant fields.

The view alone is enough to win you over. For your first meal in Chiang Klang, look no further than Saeng Thong Terrace, located within the resort. They offer a wide variety of food and drinks, including Thai dishes, Italian pizzas, and steaks. If you're looking for coffee, fresh juice, or cold drinks, they have it all. This is your one-stop shop for a delicious meal in a beautiful setting.

~ In terms of taste, price, and overall experience, it was okay.

Our reserved room is located on the second floor of the building, which is connected to the reception area. It's a short walk and there is no elevator. The room is a Delux Room, measuring 28 square meters, and is perfect for three people. The room is equipped with furniture and appliances, and is decorated in a simple and comfortable style with earth tones. There is also a spacious balcony where you can step out and enjoy the morning air. Our room has a garden view, and we can enjoy the sunrise if we wake up early enough tomorrow.

~ The Deluxe Room can accommodate 2 or 3 guests for 2,100 baht per night, including breakfast.

This morning, there was a surprise. I woke up to see the beautiful fog... Don't tell anyone 💕

...Returning to the dining room, it was already morning. Breakfast offered a variety of options, including American Breakfast, fresh vegetables for salads, hot sticky rice served with fried pork, accompanied by chili paste, and concluding with traditional Thai desserts and refreshing chilled fruits.

Overall, we believe that 'Saeng Thong Resort' is a good choice. It offers comfortable and clean accommodations with a variety of room types (some with private pools). There is a garden for morning walks, adorned with lush flowers and trees. We heard that there are activities to get your legs moving, such as bicycle rentals for exploring the surrounding area.

Seeking tranquility in Chiang Klang

Upon arriving at 'Chiang Klang', I wasn't sure where to go as I hadn't planned anything. So, I started driving aimlessly, following signs along the way (with the help of GPS). My first stop was this spot, which I wouldn't consider a tourist attraction, but it felt incredibly peaceful and natural. I couldn't resist taking some photos.

RELAX IN CHIANG KLANG

CHECK IN #3

This spot, not far from the resort, is an ordinary place where you can take a deep breath of fresh air and immerse yourself in the distant mountains that serve as a backdrop to this small river.

This place is called "Rainbow Bridge of Agricultural Prosperity", which was originally a farming plot for local villagers. The small red bridge is probably for bicycles to cross over, but today it has become a check-in point for nature photography enthusiasts to visit.

Unclear whether I like it or not... All I know is that I've been stuck here for a long time. :)

Slow Life in PUA

CHECK-IN #4

For us, no trip is complete without trying the local coffee. They say that you must not miss the chance to taste fresh coffee amidst the mountains and rice fields at the Tai Lue Fresh Coffee shop. That's the reason we had to drive on to Pua, which is actually a district bordering Chiang Klang. It really didn't take long, because in no time at all we arrived in Pua District (about 23 km from our accommodation).

: : Tai Lue Coffee Shop is located in the same area as Lam Duan Weaving Shop, a center for local hand-woven fabrics and souvenirs. The coffee shop and reception area are built in a traditional Tai Lue stilt house, offering a charming and inviting atmosphere. The interior is decorated with various woven fabrics, while the coffee ordering area is simple and straightforward. Customers can write down their orders, pay, and then receive their coffee. They can then choose to relax on the Tai Lue house or in the small huts located along the bamboo bridge that extends outward, as they please.

The laid-back crowd will surely be delighted here.

Coordinates: 19.145898, 100.940772

...not only did I get to taste delicious coffee, but I also had the opportunity to do something I've never done before!

The daily work of Auntie Sangwan, but it's very new to us. We got to know... we got to try spinning yarn from a bicycle wheel, a very cool local ingenuity. Anyone who wants to quit their job and come and weave cool fabrics like this is also good. It makes us realize... it takes a lot of time and effort to make a piece of fabric. Support the purchase of beautiful local hand-woven fabrics, helping to promote the careers of local people. You can find them at Lamduan Weaving Shop. They are very good and the prices are very reasonable. ❤

~ Our sincere gratitude to Auntie Sangwan for taking the time to guide and teach us the art of weaving.

MAINTAIN COMPOSURE WITH PUA PERSPECTIVE

CHECK-IN #5

This breathtaking aerial view of Pua town is exclusive to Wat Phukhieo in Pua district. You heard that right! You can admire the panoramic vista of Pua from the spacious viewing platform at Wat Phukhieo. This spot offers a relaxing haven with refreshing breezes and stunning scenery. Gazing down upon the verdant agricultural fields interspersed with small canals against the backdrop of rolling hills, you'll create lasting memories of Pua.

Coordinates: 19.165639, 100.934130

WHEN I FALL IN LOVE...

CHECK IN #6

Often, we find ourselves falling in love with roadside views...unintentionally. And this is yet another instance where the journey to our destination led us to discover something along the way. These yellow flowers beside the old concrete bridge were no exception. A mere glimpse was enough to make us turn around and take a closer look. And what did we find? A field of sunhemp, blooming in vibrant yellow across the entire field. Amidst the bamboo bridge that stretched out before us, we were invited to walk in and experience it up close. Capturing these images at close range made us linger here for a long...long time. And we easily agreed that we had fallen in love with the roadside view of Chiang Klang (we're not fickle, are we?).

Regrettably, we didn't check in when we left, so we don't have the coordinates. However, with a bit of luck, others who get lost might stumble upon this place on their own. ❤

~ There is no entrance fee, but there is a donation box for the maintenance of the beautiful sunflower field.

The trip concludes with a relaxing experience amidst the mountains, flower fields, and mist in Chiang Klang and Pua.

Thank you for following along and joining us on our journey up the mountains and down the streams throughout the trip. Stay tuned for our next adventure with [GO OUT THERE] soon. :)
