It is said that people going to the sea is either escaping from the heat or love.

But I'm neither heart broken, nor escaping from love. I just want to chill and enjoy my single life.

Carrying my backpack and camera, I'm ready and let's go to Krabi Province where it has several Unseen attractions.

Like Talay Waek, Koh Kai, Koh Poda, Koh Hong,....etc and the sea fog at Wat Tham Sua.

[ DAY 1 ]

Starting with the tough journey!!! I almost miss the flight. Here is our flight for this trip:

Bangkok (DMK) - Krabi (KBV) departs at 09:45 a.m. and arrives at 11:00 a.m.

But at 08.30 a.m. I'm still stuck with the traffic at Bangna. All I can do is praying to Luang Pu Thuat that I'd make it.

And the miracle does exist. I arrive at the airport at 09.10 a.m. and find the parking at Terminal 1 (but my flight is at Terminal 2). I didn't realize this change at the airport.

Well, what can I do...but the fastest possible to the check in counter.

Now it's 09.20 a.m. I walk in with my remorse emotion.

(I'm not sure whether it's because Nok Air encounter certain problem at that time or what ..the staff checked me in.....such a nice service.)

At 11.15 a.m., we arrive at Krabi Airport.

My pick up car is Toyoya Altis (with a driver). I quickly get on the car as it's very hot.

Then, we go to check in at the hotel at Orange Tree House which is located at downtown Krabi.

http://www.krabiorangetree.com

I chose here as I wanted to enjoy the walking street in front of the hotel.

It takes about 30 minutes form the airport to this hotel.

After checking in to the hotel, unpacking stuff, changing clothes, now I'm ready to get tanned.

We are going to explore 7 islands while it's hot. Don't forget to also pack some food.

This is because it'd be around 20.00 p.m. before you could have your dinner (for the sunset package).

Once we reach Ao Nam Mao Pier, we register and take a wristband so to indicate which boat we are going with.

(If we lost the wristband, it's 200 THB fine). We must return it when we are back on the shore.

Here, I see lots of foreigners. It's probably because they love this natural beauty of Thai sea.

After getting a wristband, we go inside the pier to wait for the boat. The pathway has such a great atmosphere (though it's a bit hot).

The water is so clear and I just want to jump in right away (lots of foreigners are here like Korean, Chinese, Westerners, etc.)

Getting ready to board the boat and snorkeling to see the Clownfish.

After taking off and looking back, all we could see is still the beauty.

Now, we are on the way to "Talay Waek". The atmosphere is the greatest and the sea is just so beautiful.

We won't have to set our hair as it'd go up automatically. It takes about 40 minutes to reach here.

Talay Waek (UNSEEN THAILAND)

Talay Waek is the occurrence of the tides' influences. It makes the dunes of 3 islands (Koh Tub, Koh Mo, and Koh Kai) visible when the tide is low. We could walk between these islands.

When walking on these sands, we feel like walking on the Andaman Sea and surrounded by beautiful scenery. We could see small and big islands of Krabi sea.

This beauty attracts massive of both Thai and foreign tourists to visit Krabi Province.

Talay Waek (sea separating phenomenon) only occurs when the water is at its lowest tide in each day.

It's like the sea amazingly separates itself out and allows us to see the beautiful sand connecting two islands.

Tourist Center Service

The water is so clear that we could see the sand beneath it.

We spend about 40 minutes here enjoying the water and taking the photo. Then, the guide calls us back on the boat.

After leaving Talay Waek, we are going through limestone mountains in the midst of the sea which were eroded by the wind and the rain.

The left one looks like turtle and the right one looks like chicken's head.

Or it can be up to the imagination of people. Some people said it looks like boots and sailboat.

Here, we can snorkeling to see corals on the western zone.

Koh Kai or Koh Poda Nok (Koh Tao)

On the left is Koh Tao and on the right is Koh Kai.

The guide and staff of the boat said that we can't actually see the shape of the turtle but it'd be clearer on the way back.

It's true, when returning back, we could clearly see what used to be unclear -- Koh Kai and Koh Tao.

Koh Kai (literally means chicken island)

Koh Tao (literally means turtle island)

At this area, the boat is stopped to allow us to take photo of Koh Kai and Koh Tao.

It has become one of the important landmarks of Krabi sea.

Before I could get each shot, we all get dizzy as the boat stops and turns around (we now get all tanned).

Then the boat stops at the southwest to allow us to swim, snorkeling and enjoy several types of fish and corals.

The boat stops here for 30 minutes to allow us to enjoy the Clownfish.

Actually, we could see them swimming here and there from the boat also.

Before jumping in,let's wear life jacket and snorkeling equipment for the safety.

Look at this emerald crystal clear water, it's calling us to quickly jump in.

Once we are in the water, so many Clownfish are swimming around :) I'm so happy!

They are also swimming away from us so I can't touch any of them.

After that, we are going to Koh Poda. It stops for us here to see the strange shape of stalagmites and stalactites underwater.

This spot used to be the jumping spot but I don't know why it's prohibited now (so I miss this fun!)

This area, the teal comes down to catch the fish as their food.

Stalagmites and stalactites caused by erosion of the sea.

At this snorkeling area, there's a lot of strange stones underwater (I can't capture them clearly as it's too dark).

Nearby our snorkeling area, we see naturally occurred small islands.

Koh Poda

Amidst the pine trees, we are relax with the sound of the wave and the wind.

This relaxing tourist place for photography and beauty of Koh Poda still maintains her beauty.

Indeed, it's considered another highlight of Krabi tourism.

The charm of Koh Poda could be the long white sand.

It has the long beach that is perfect for swimming, appreciating the view, and just simply relaxing.

In front of Koh Poda lays an island that looks like a sailboat.

It's less than 15 minutes to reach here coming from Koh Kai. We take photo, buy snack and enjoy this place for about 20 minutes.

( Popular Corner ) If I didn't take ones here, I might consider not yet reach here.

It's a pity that I didn't have the national park's stamps collection book (what a miss!).

Koh Poda is located in the sea in front of Ao Nang which is in the Ranger Station Unit 1 (Koh Hong).

If I have the collection book, I could get a stamp.

Tham Phra Nang/ Ao Railey the paradise of rock climbing lover

Phra Nang Beach is one of the highlights that draw people to Krabi. It's the paradise of rock climber and someone who love height.

We will see this amazing corner when we walk all the way to the end of the beach where it locates Tham Phra Nang (Phra Nang Cave).

The boat parks far from the shore. We must walk through the water to here.

Tham Phra Nang is the home to sacred goddess whom the locals here highly worship.

It's the goddess shrine surrounded by the thing the people bring here when their wishes were realized.....

That thing is the wooden sculpture of "penis" in different color and size.

The legend of Phra Nang....The Goddess of Love

The legend has it that, long time ago, there was "Phra Rach Ship" drowned outside the peninsula coast which has Phra Nang or the Indian princess named Sri Sakun Devi.

Her name was floating on the board. She's drown into the sea and believed that her wish has never been realized.

It's also believed that her soul is still staying in this shrine until now.

It is believed that before going out for fishing, the fisherman must ask for her blessing for good luck and wishes.

When asking for any wish, people would bring food, flowers, incense, and candles to pay respect to her spirit.

It is believed that the offer that she specially wanted is "the crafted penis".

Now, Thai people, regardless of their religion, have the believe of sacred penis.

If we build to offer to any shrine, it's believed to bring abundance and prosperity to the world.

This strong belief of the goddess spirit has been proved by long years of local people worshiping.

Tham Phra Nang is considered to bear with her the significance of good spirit belief.

The Muslim fisherman also believe in the goddess. They also believe that their faith and prosperity is directly connected to the princess in the legend.

Stalactite is hanging down to be a beautiful backdrop for this photo.

This sea consists of small and big islands standing next to one another. It's especially beautiful during the twilight.

This rock welcomes massive worldwide rock climbers to test their strength and enjoy the beautiful landscape of limestone cliffs.

Here at Railey Bay, it's famous for its amazing beauty.

We could also simply walk and enjoy the beach.

Here are the stalagmites and stalactites inside the cave located along the way to Railay Bay for dinner.

After dinner (buffet style), there's a swinging batons fire show and plankton at night (it's too dark that I can't take photo).

After that, we go back to the shore and return the wristband.

Then, we take the van back to the hotel. I go wander at walking street a bit before finally back to the room.

[ Day 2 ]

Koh Hong, Ao Hong (Lagoon), Talay Nai, Koh Pak Bia, Koh Lading

The van picks me up from the hotel at 07.30 a.m. (the breakfast at the hotel is only bread, Ovaltine, and orange juice).

The van takes us to Ao Nang Pier for roll call and give us the sticker to stick at our shirt.

Now, we could also buy things and food we like at the pier (the 7-Eleven is also here).

At 08.30 a.m. the boat starts to depart towards Koh Hong. It takes about 45 minutes for this journey.

Koh Hong

We park our boat on the south of the 300 m long beach. Coming to Koh Hong, all boats can only park at this beach.

So this southern beach is not suitable for swimming as there're several boats nearby.

Koh Hong is located in Than Bok Khorani National Park (we could get a stamp for the collection).

This island has a beautiful scenery and surrounded by blue water.

It has coral reefs around. The interesting spot is "Ao Bi Lae" which its beach has the shape of e flying bird.

The sand is so white and delicate. The water is emerald crystal clear with lots of fish swimming around.

It's suitable for enjoying the water or swimming. It's also a good place for kayaking.

It's a one of the most beautiful places to enjoy the corals by snorkeling.

It's ranked as one of the ten islands that has the most touristic and cleanest beach in the world.

It also has the 400 m natural trail. We can also canoeing around Koh Hong.

The tenting area is provided on this island.

On how to get here, it's about 45 minutes boat ride from Ao Nang.

We could stay overnight here at Than Bok Khorani National Park but we must bring our own tent.

The beach on the north side is about 200 m long. It's the beach for enjoying water only.

The boats are prohibited in this area. We could enjoy all we want with this clear water and white sand.

The wave is relatively weak due to the mountain help keep the wind and the wave out.

It's quite shady at the beach, it's an ideal place to lay out the mat and simply lay there to enjoy the view.

Ao Hong (Lagoon)

It is a huge room in the midst of the sea. We could boating in when the water is up and there's only one entrance.

We have to boat in along the cliff towards this gigantic room housing mangrove and surrounded by mountains.

It looks like the mouth of volcano. Inside the water is emerald blue and clear.

It's quite shallow that we could see the ground beneath it. It's the refuge place for sea animals and fishermen when the waves are too strong that they can't sail the boat.

We can't jump in the water as the tide is too high. We could just sit in the boat to enjoy this nature around the lagoon.

Then, we go for lunch at Koh Pak Bia

Koh Pak Bia

It's a small island behind Koh Hong. The water is clear and perfect for enjoying ourselves in it.

The atmosphere is quiet and shady. Even though the beach is not wide, it's enough to enjoy.

The sand connects another island and we could walk there when the water is at its lowest tide.

When the water is up, it separates Koh Pak Bia into two islands.

We enjoy our lunch and relax here about 45 minutes.

( The food is served in buffet style which has Fried Mixed Vegetable, Deep-fried Chicken Thigh, Mackerel Fish Topped with Chili Sauce. The fruit served is watermelon.)

When the water is low, we could walk to the other island.

Lots of Clownfish are here and we can clearly see them.

Koh Lading (Koh Paradise)

It takes about 30 minutes to reach here form Koh Pak Bia.

It is one of the islands in Moo Koh Hong of Than Bok Than Bok Khorani National Park. It is surrounded by tens of other islands.

There's only one 60 m long beach on the east of this island where we could go down to enjoy the water.

Koh Lading is abundant with big trees and limestone mountains which is quite shady.

The beach is white and the water is crystal green with lots of tiger damselfish.

The guide gives us 30 minutes to enjoy here.

The activities on Koh Lading include swings, swimming, walking, photography with beautiful angle on the island.

In comparison to Koh Pak Bia, Koh Lading is much more beautiful.

We leave Koh Lading at 14.20 p.m. to go back to the shore at Ao Nang Pier.

At 15.30 p.m. we reach Ao Nang Pier and then take the bus back to the hotel.

Then, I go walk at the Krabi walking street, find some food, buy souvenir, and write postcards.

Then, I go back to my room, pack the stuff, and get ready to go back tomorrow.

[ Day 3 ]

Wat Thum Sua--- UNSEEN THAILAND

www.watthumsua-krabi.com

Well, since we are already at Krabi and seeing Talay Waek and blue sea, before going back, let's also enjoy the sea fog.

This sea fog could make us a bit exhausted as we have to walk up 1,260 stairs!!!!!

Here is the sea fog viewpoint of Wat Thaum Sua of Krabi which is one of the UNSEEN THAILAND.

Don't feel giving up by seeing this number, it's really more than worthy to see this view yourself!

This is the path to pay the homage to the footprint of the Buddha with 1,260 stairs.

Before that, let's buy a bottle of water (inside the temple) as it's not available on the top.

Walking up stairs

After 262 stairs, am I tired!!!??? My shirt is full of my sweat!

The atmosphere while walking up is so natural.

Looking at these steps making me so want to give up....My legs are so sore.

Once we conquer this 1,260 stairs (the old stairs had 1,237 steps), we could see this amazing sea fog of Krabi.

I took about 15 minutes to reach here (without resting).

The limestone mountains of Wat Tham Sua is there and trees are moving once touched by cool wind.

The weather up here is so good but a pity that it has no fog.

Here is the award of my effort and the faith to come up here to pay the homage to Buddha image.

Phra That Chedi Wat Thaum Sua

Wat Tham Sua Viewpoint

From the Wat Thum Sua Viewpoint, we see several limestone mountains lining up like the dream scene.

It has Phanom Benja Mountain, the highest peak of Krabi, outstandingly stands there on the back.

From here, we see the street becomes so small.

It's now 10.00 a.m. After paying respect to the Buddha and taking enough photos, it's time to get down and get ready for the airport.

It's so easy on the way down and not tired at all, haha. I also spend only half the time of when getting up.

The best time to walk up to Wat Thum Sua is before 08.00 a.m. as the weather is great, not yet hot. Also, we could see the sea fog.

Some people spend a night up there underneath the tree.

The time spent going up here is varied by personal physical condition. If you are strong, you might take about 15-30 minutes to walk up but if you rest for a long time, it could take up to an hour.

The restroom is provided at the middle of the walkway but there's none on the top.

Now I must officially end my 3 days 2 nights trip (it's my first time and I spend it to the fullest).

We travel in order to live the life we wanted....
