Samsan Island: A Tranquil Escape in Sattahip
Samsan Island, a small island under the care of the Royal Thai Navy in Sattahip, offers a serene escape from the mainland's hustle and bustle. Visitors can purchase ferry tickets at the Khao Ma Cho Pier, located next to the Thai National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Sattahip district, Chonburi province. The ferry ride costs approximately 300 baht per person.
This translates to:
"This is a journey with the navy where you can sit, relax, and lie down all day long. Now, you can book a queue online."
However, our trip to Ko Samet Sar today was not with the navy officials. We went with a private company because private companies have started offering private group trips to Ko Samet Sar for diving and coral viewing. These trips are offered on speedboats for 3,500 baht per boat for six people. If there are more people, the price increases by 600 baht per person. The trips are offered in morning and afternoon sessions, each lasting approximately four hours.
The tour will not take you to the area of Ko Samet Sar that is crossed by the navy, but to the sea within Ao Samet Sar Bay.
This time, we visited two locations: Koh Chang and Koh Rong Koh Rong.
"Koh Jhong," the island of Nemo, the clownfish, and the zebrasoma. For those who are not good at swimming but want to see Nemo clearly, swimming in the clear sea is recommended. This island is a must-visit.
The text describes a diving trip to Sattahip, highlighting its proximity to Bangkok and suitability for short getaways. It emphasizes the benefits of joining a Navy-organized trip for a more relaxed and fulfilling experience compared to private trips, which might feel rushed due to time constraints. The text concludes by encouraging readers to choose the option that best suits their preferences.
The journey from Bangkok to Sattahip takes approximately 2-3 hours. The diving session is scheduled from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a cost of 600 Baht per person.
