Louis Vuitton Time Capsule Exhibition in Bangkok

Hello.

The Exhibition at Parc Paragon

This exhibition is located on the M floor of Siam Paragon's Parc Paragon. Admission is free and open to the public from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. The last entry is 20 minutes before closing, and the exhibition halls begin to close 10 minutes before the official closing time. The exhibition runs until September 25, 2017.

The exhibition will be held in a well-decorated, air-conditioned room with staff on hand to assist at every point. It is divided into four main sections: Louis Vuitton's identity, the history of world travel, the elegance and sophistication of travel, and the brand's iconic creations. It also includes pieces created to celebrate the long-standing relationship between Louis Vuitton and Thailand, from the past to the present.

Welcome to the Time Capsule with the exclusive Craftsmanship Room. This was a truly remarkable experience for Do, as it was the first time he had ever witnessed the intricate process of creating a Louis Vuitton piece. The event featured master craftsman Serge from Asnières, who has 34 years of experience working with Louis Vuitton. He demonstrated the steps involved in making the Petite Malle bag, leaving a lasting impression on Do.

The first room, "The Identity of Louis Vuitton," showcases Louis Vuitton's designs from over a century ago that continue to influence the brand today.

The Second Room: A Journey Around the World

The second room, titled "Legends of World Travel," reinforces Louis Vuitton's position as the leading luggage provider for globetrotters. The meticulously designed space showcases luggage tailored to various travel styles, evoking a desire to embark on new adventures with a Louis Vuitton companion by your side.

The next room will be a luxurious and elegant travel experience, where Louis Vuitton showcases its expertise in the art of storing and protecting belongings. This room will feature examples of custom-made pieces designed to fit specific items, such as jewelry, cosmetics, perfumes, cigar boxes, and even Japanese tea ceremony equipment.

This room embodies Louis Vuitton's boundless openness to new ideas through collaborations with diverse artists, architects, and designers. One such example is the collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, who designed the groundbreaking Multicolore monogram collection, a radical departure from the traditional monogram. This collection caused a major stir at the time. Another notable collaboration was with renowned 1980s fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa, who created a bag to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the monogram. Additionally, Spanish designer Manolo Blahnik contributed a luxurious shoe and bag set, conceptualized as a single piece for a complete evening look. Finally, the room showcases the latest 2017 collection, a collaboration with Jeff Koons, featuring iconic masterpieces such as Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's A Wheatfield with Cypresses, and Rubens' The Tiger Hunt. These collaborations bring world-renowned art within reach, allowing individuals to feel like part of these masterpieces.

This room chronicles the long-standing relationship between Louis Vuitton and Thailand, from the past to the present. It features photographs and documents dating back to the reign of King Rama V, a special set of 24 numbered bags created in 1960 for King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and Queen Sirikit, designed by world-renowned French designer Pierre Balmain, a bag designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of King Rama IX's reign in 2006, and a bag designed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana in 2008.

The next room will tell the story of Louis Vuitton from its beginnings to the present day through large LED screens around the room, giving the impression of being in the same place as Louis Vuitton himself.

And lastly, take home free souvenirs, including postcards and stickers designed specifically for this event.

This is a review that attempts to be as detailed and concise as possible, but ultimately the best way to experience it is to see it for yourself. There are many intricate details and objects that need to be seen with your own eyes at the exhibition.
